You should add in the description about MSI afterburner's wrong power consumption readings in the intel cards. It's kinda annoying seeing so many people being misled by it.
You know what? I have an RTX 3070 TI with 8GB, and in my experience, I can max out the game settings with more than enough fps to play. But it's frequently crashed out due to being out of VRAM. I need to lower the game setting to avoid a crash. It seems like I have a car with a turbo, but the turbo always failed while I was kicking the gas.
@@ToshentpillaiYes, I agree. And what makes it more ridiculous for my 3070 TI is the card cannot run properly in stock condition while gaming; otherwise, it will go black screen, and you'll see many the 3070 TI behave like this. MSI Afterburner is mandatory for undervolting the card.
NVIDIA cards really do be like that these days. Having the raw power but the VRAM always holding it back. Only 3060 12GB that are well made and adequate for how it is. If it requires "mining" for NVIDIA to give enough VRAM, then just make every cards as mining cards. Then everyone will be happy. 🤧🥲
Would be nice to hear what games have been crushing on you due to vram. May be I am playing wrong games, but apart from new Indiana Jones game I barely had any crushes because of vram. May be that's because I do use upscale a lot, or may be because I do change ingame settings before I play. Like Indiana - it can just fit at High textures barely in some locations, but the truth is - low textures look as good as med or high, I can't find any difference in that game, and that's seems to be current trend - ultra is for 4k and lower textures are still pretty much high res compared to older games. Undervolted with rationally selected game settings this card seems to be doing just fine in all games still, at least in my experience. Would be nice to have 12GB of vram, don't get me wrong, but it is what it is, and it's still doing fine.
Being significantly behind a mid range card from 2020 isn't exactly impressive IMO - I understand it's decent in terms of price to performance but I mean, this performance will barely cut it in modern games

I feel like B580 is 1440P high(not the highest setting) card, ultra is out of the question, maybe lite games 1440P ultra settings is acceptable, but games like God of War 1440P high settings 60FPS
@winio437 I know, but some games can run on 1440P, I know some people hate FSR3 with Frame gen(don't know why people hate it, it's sort of a advantage), but it's better than nothing, plus in some games FSR3 and frame gen is unnoticeable(if you don't look so hard around 😅)

There's 200€ difference between both cards, but only 10-20 FPS depending on the game. Well done, Intel. At this rate, you will beat Nvidia's low end and mid range. And who knows how many years until even the high end can be contested.

Indiana Jones is the first game that truly made me realize 8GB isn't enough anymore with my 3070, It was a good run tho the card has been great (purchased in 2021).
Another channel tested B580 on GTA 4 and it ran good but we know optimization of GTA 4 is garbage so it was having stutters but that happens on any PC system
No, that is more likely due to driver issues where the Intel card still has to catch up. But you are still way better off with the Intel card in terms of price-performance, and 8 GB VRAM is obsolete. Nobody should buy that at all anymore.
You might notice they also have low 1% framerates due to asking for system ram. While Hogwarts has better fps, it's a lie it's been shown with 8gb vram the textures don't load so while better fps it's a lot poorer overall
Entry level GPU needs better selected GPU settings! "High settings" would be more than enough for a 250 bucks GPU. (Of course you can set texture details always to ultra ... because the B580 has enough VRAM, while RTX 3070 has NOT!)

doubling the VRAM to 16GB is possible, but configuring it is difficult. You can solder on larger modules, but there are other things that need to be setup like the straps/timing, which are setup through both the V-BIOS and jumpers on the card. A channel called Northwestrepair here on YT has a video where the VRAM on a 3060ti is swapped for different modules and the memory straps had to be reconfigured. Most 30-series cards, except for the 3060 and 3090ti, use 1GB modules. The 3060ti, 3070, and 3070ti all use 8x 1GB modules. To get 12GB of VRAM on a 3070, the technician would have to replace half of the 1GB modules with 2GB modules. I doubt this would work, and I have never seen a card with mismatched modules.
12GB vram is nothing when its that speed. Getting destroyed by a 8gb card 2 generations ago this is why the 6750XT & 7700XT + 7800XT still sell so well

I bet it won't run as good as NVIDIA. NVIDIA has better support for older titles like DX9. 🤷🏻♀️🥴
@ as I imagined. I would like to test one of this intel cards but my game activity is still based on 80% old titles. 😔
@@AlemannoDigitale Well if that the case a GTX would be enough. Intel is more optimized for the latest and modern DX12, not very backward friendly.
@@Jakiyyyyy I have a 3070 now and I think I’m gonna stick with it for some other time 😉
Another channel tested B580 on GTA 4 and it ran good but we know optimization of GTA 4 is garbage so it was having stutters but that happens on any PC system
A very promising future for intel video cards, I hope they release a 4K capable card so I can buy it.
That power draw on the b580 is soooo good.
just observed that some games has faster framerate when using rtx 8gb cards compared to 12gb b580, bad optimization?
No, that is more likely due to driver issues where the Intel card still has to catch up. But you are still way better off with the Intel card in terms of price-performance, and 8 GB VRAM is obsolete. Nobody should buy that at all anymore.
You might notice they also have low 1% framerates due to asking for system ram. While Hogwarts has better fps, it's a lie it's been shown with 8gb vram the textures don't load so while better fps it's a lot poorer overall
tnx bros
wow... power consumtion is double..!!
Entry level GPU needs better selected GPU settings!
"High settings" would be more than enough for a 250 bucks GPU.
(Of course you can set texture details always to ultra ... because the B580 has enough VRAM, while RTX 3070 has NOT!)
for people see power consumption its not real number its around 140 170 watt in 2k resolution and real price is 340 dollar 😒 so think carerully before buying 👌 110 -140 watt in 1080p i think
just look at the power consumption of both cards😱
Yeah that's pretty good because the B580 is using less power to give you the same or if not almost the same FPS
Kudos to Intel, they did a great job
Yeah. This generation Nvidia GPUs and intel GPUs has excellent power consumption 👍 maybe amd too
@@eddiesneax6754 Kudos to TSMC, they did a great job. Intel did nothing though, again.
@@notenjoying666 Somebody had to design the gpu die you muppet. Only the compute die is manufactured by TSMC, the base tile and every other thing is is manufactured by intel and the chiplets bonded together in an intel fab.
The power consumption reading is inaccurate, b580 actually ~195w
Last gen i bought 7600xt. 16 gigs and its fine for my 1080p 60-120 fps gaming demands. But nedt gen i will support intel. They deserve a chance.
3070 was only 8gb of vram? lmao
Nuck Fvidia man
Any news on ARC B770???🙂
your tests are flawed - you should always use ultra textures and stuff that push VRAM to the limit - playing on medium with 3070 is no go
50% less power usage for 10% lower performance.
Damn...
Half the power consumption. Very nicely keeping up with 3070.
power consumption is lower, but it is against a more than 4 year old card. the 4060/4060ti are already much more power efficient vs 30 series, and 50 series will be here soon. 5060/5060ti need to be 12gb+ to be a good option, but they will still probably sell well regardless.
Can you do again pcie 4.0 vs 3.0 4090 with 9800x3D?
techpowerup and Gamers Nexus will do these PCIe scaling tests with the 5090. You'll probably see this review about a week after the review embargo for the 5090 has lifted. Both GN and Techpowerup use the 9800x3d in their test setup.
год назад от грусти купил себе б/у 3070 на замену 1066. крутой что эта развалина еще тащит , только я играю пару часиков в месяц , потому что впадлу играть завхыхзппзв🎉
Wait for intel b590, maybe more kick his green price and efficiency
Don't mess with the 3070 man. It's still a powerhouse even with 8gb of vram.
I saw the 8gb version of B580. Have tested it?
That's the predecessor the A580. That card is way slower and has severe issues in some games.
@@fabiusmaximuscunctator7390 you're right it's A580 not B580 silly me
No worries, it happened to me as well when checking for prices online.
A for Alchemist and B for Battlemage architecture. You should abandon A already because these were meant for beta testers. 🤷🏻♀️🥴
There’s a few people in China who add more vram to cards like 3070’s some are 10gb and some are 12gb still a gamble or risk to send it though
Why?
@ who knows if they keep or scam you
doubling the VRAM to 16GB is possible, but configuring it is difficult.
B580 is the 🐐
Funny how people compare a Brand New gpu to a nearly 2 gens older gpu and consider that as impressive or a win
If only b580 have stock in our area
Hope B770 will also rock!!!
Old GPU destroy new GPU with 12GB VRAM, Intel need more power.
Ok, but Intel best TDP.
The RTX 3070 is the winner because it's the only graphics card in this test; another easy win against a software card.
4-5 year old Card Beat the new Intel 580card 😂😂😂
12GB vram is nothing when its that speed. Getting destroyed by a 8gb card 2 generations ago this is why the 6750XT & 7700XT + 7800XT still sell so well
Tf mentioning on 12gb vram as useless and glazing on 3 gpu with more than 12gb vram on amd is next level glazing
@@anonymousgaming5725 because it's true. This intel card is not good at 1440p and 4k. How many games exceed 8gb of usage at 1080p?
Something is wrong with your PC. In my test the B580 was faster in majority of the case.
Looks like an 8GB 5060 will crush the B580.
Your 7800x3d is running woefully below what it's capable of..
it's GPU limited what you expect?
medium texture 😂😂😂 nvidia fanboy
RivaTuner?
rtx3070 was always a terrible gpu but still ppl bought them in droves.
Try arc770 vs arc580
1440p GPU for 250$? Sold
to play games at 40 fps? good luck
@ ultra settings is not the only way to play
dayum, 5 years old gpu still better for gaming 😂
After OC B580 you gain 5fps more and par with RTX 3070
Should have tested at 1440p
it's bad, you can google it
How you losing 30fps avg?
Can you tell me please? maybe i don't understand something?

Good work Intel
the b580 uses half power 💀
it just shows more of how bad 4060 actually is
Why medium textures? They do not affect performance even slightest.
Its basically a weak 3060ti with 12gb
Test ark survival asseced in b580
3070 is still fast in all games
2x power consumption
well yeah it's also twice as expensive
@@EmuQuest It's not. I cost 500$ back in 2020 when it released. Now it's 250$ on the used market.
@@markokojicic Apples to oranges, you're comparing a new card to a used one, we can wait 5 years for B580's price to go down to $125
@@EmuQuest Yes, because the 3070 has been discontinued a long time ago so there is no "brand new" price for the 3070. You compared the price of a 2020 product to the price of a 2024 product which makes absolutely no sense. No one in their right mind would pay 500$ for a 3070 in 2024.
