thomas lacey I fixed it. All I did was use my old laptop to reinstall windows 10 on my usb and then using the usb with windows 10 with my pc and boot it

Omg thank you so much. My screens been stuck on preparing automatic repair for days and I’ve tried other methods with trying to push F11 to go into safe mode but didn’t work and then I stumbled across on this. After 3 hard restart a screen with “repairing disk error, this may take an hour to repair” after 2 minutes the laptop restarted on its own and got straight into the laptop. So I didn’t need to follow the other steps. Thank you once again.

Thank You for taking your time to make this video. After latest October Win10 update a few days ago without my permission, My PC keyboard would not respond and it would not allow me to use my recovery DVD. This way allow me to do Reset and I greatly appreciate your help! Straight to the point video without a bunch of crazy steps. It worked for me on my HP Envy. For those people it not working for I am sorry for you but Not this Gentleman fault. Spend your time figuring out problem or watch other video or take to repair shop but your negative comments are worthless and help no one.

For those still having the problems you just have to go and uninstall the last window quality update and it will work
But it is stuck at at the logo(mine being HP) , can we update our window's while the screen is still frozen at the hp logo and doesnt seem to start.

if you have an msi laptop, boot it into automatic repair but factory reset using the msi reset feature instead, it’ll install windows within 30 seconds

I have been through this process. My name is Alogwu Morgan Adakole. I live in lagos now. I have a HP 720 which doesn't boot even though I go through the exact same process that you just elaborated. Each time I go to the start menu, it takes me back to 'preparing to enter automatic repair' all over again

This is really one of the most useful vids I have seen on youtube. Now I know why Win10 deletes recovery partitions when you upgrade, as from Win7. It seems it can repair itself the same as macOS; that is with out being destructive to your data. Excellent presentation, i am going to watch it again. I always enjoy your vids because they are complete and teach so clearly. Thanks.

Sadly it's not a universal fix. There are issues that can't be fixed automatically.

You might need a full reinstall then. Link in the description of the video.
my problem not solved
restore factory setting.. :)
Step 1: on the blank screen with cursor, Click 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' it will bring you the option for "Task Manager" along with other options
(You can also use the key combination CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the Task Manager directly.)
Step 2: Click on Task manager 'File '-->New Task (run)
Step 3: Type at Run 'services.msc' (without quotes), it will open windows services.
Step 4: Under the services, look for the service name 'AppReadiness' and double click on the 'AppReadiness" service.
Step 5: It will open 'AppReadiness' properties. Click on startup type and select 'Disabled", Click Apply and click ok.
Restart the PC:
Step 6: Click on Task Manager 'File' --> New Task (run)
Step 7: type at Run 'CMD' (without quotes) -->It will open command prompt
Step 8: At the command prompt type 'shutdown /s /f', this will shutdown the system.
Restart the system and you should be able to login without any issues.

I clicked on restore my PC. Now my laptop starts and only black screen with the power botton on
THANK YOU i was in task manager just closing some stuff and then my homescreen went all blue, i did this and i thought it wasnt working so i signed in, and it asked me some questions like i reset it, (either way i was fine to just reinstall everything) but then after the questions its back to normal THANK YOU SO MUCH

I got to the Repair Screen, but with the Lennova Yoga 720, power it off at the Lennova Banner instead of the windows logo :-).

This did not fix my problem but thank you for a very good explanation of how to go about finding a solution. I have been to several websites and watched multiple videos. Very informative and understandable. Everytime windows gets updated I seem to have this problem. Generally costs me several hundred dollars to get fixed. Very frustrating when the problem appears to be coming from the originator of the product your using.

I'm stuck on a bsod saying recovery, you pc needs to be repaired, error code oxc000000e withe the windows/system32/winload.efi file being the error.
