    I've had a car for 15 years that is constantly flashing a low pressure warning... only to check it out and see all pressures are within range. After one replacement failed I finally gave up on trusting the sensor light and went old school, making it a point to check the pressures myself at least once a week.

    the TPMS sensors in our FR-S have been nothing but problems. I'm so happy that my E90 doesn't have them lol. Maybe we just have defective sensors though :)

    If I have a tire with no tpms and I get a tire rotation service should that tire be displayed in the new tire position where it was placed?

    Hello Brian, how to test does my tpms is working, because after i code my car with bimmercode(i wanted to show temperature of tires) i think my tpms stopped working. I stopped dropping a little tire but did not report to my dash! Please help... p.s. my reset function is working!

    Nice thing about late model Toyotas is that you (usually) can see the individual pressure readings in the gauge cluster screen, so you know if one of your tires is funky, or one of the TPMS sensors is.

      TPMS apparently do have a standard required. OEM set their own. There is no aural signal required just the dash icon. It’s easy to overlook since a majority of drivers do not pay attention to the dash from start to finish of a trip. One of my cars can display the PSI of each tire. A 2011 model has no such display. None has an aural signal. Next, replacement $$$. Each runs from $50 and up plus service fees. The stem must have a cap to prevent damage to the stem. Do not gloss over that. Keep the cap tight on the stem. 2011 vehicle just had all four replaced. $$$. Thanks

  • @josearellano3268

    Can you replace it with a regular non tpms air valve..??

  • @mon0theist_tv

    I've taken my wheels off for brake jobs, patching blown tires, etc. and there's no connection between the tire/wheel and the rest of the car. Is it a wireless connection between the TPM sensor and the car's computer? Otherwise I don't see how the car's computer could get any data/signal from the tires themselves

    • @stephenwatson2328
      @stephenwatson2328 3 года назад

      Most genuine systems used a sensor with is a part of the ABS system and it calculates the difference of speed between a low pressure tire and the correct pressure and it calculates an algorithm. Aftermarket systems are wireless and measure the pressure at the valve stem.

    • @yokai8896
      @yokai8896 3 года назад

      He explained indirect TPMS. Which doesn't rely on wireless sensors, instead using a rotations over distance equation to figure out the pressure (by tire diameter)

    TPMS is most useless thing on the car. I have to add air every week. It does not help that the tire is so weak when it comes to Chuck Holes in the road. More stuff on the car that I do not want and sends the cost of the car up.
