@Fabian Moye the melting point of wagyu is lower than body temp so cooking it renders the fat more easily. most places only cook it for way less time because it cooks so easily!
I had it at a sushi place and they served it thin and they torched it for a few seconds. I don’t think it came out well done. The. I bought some to make and the place I got it from recommend I cook it well done. I didn’t, I cooked it medium rare and it was perfect
I cringe when he over dips his lovely flavored steak in so many things and that amount of wasabi is ridiculous. That’s not how you eat that kind of steak.
I feel really dumb for asking this, but why is there so much dislike for "well done" steaks? I thought well done meant the most cooked and crispiest? Also, what is the best "cook" of meat to ask for if I ever go to a restaurant (so I don't look like a total idiot)? 😂
@@shorty235z As a steak gets hotter, the muscle fibers tense up more and cook out all the fat and juices, so what you're left with is a tougher, chewier, less flavorful, grey piece of meat that is perfectly safe, but perfectly boring. A crispy, beautiful outside can be just as easily achieved on a rare or medium rare steak through good searing. About 2-3 minutes per side in a pan that is roughly 450-500 degrees will get a great sear and still leave a lovely red center. Rare steaks are still safe to eat and are abundantly juicy and flavorful.
