I'm in a point in my life where I don't have a car, and a coworker offered to drive me home since it was raining at the time. I, obviously not wanting to walk 40~50 minutes in the rain, took her offer, and only AFTER we pulled up next to my apartment did we start the actual talk, and we probably spent over an hour just talking in the parked car.

Okay I am now huddled under a warm fuzzy blanket because all these weird sentences made me shiver and now I am cold. I almost hollard to dad to turn on the heat. Then remembered I am in the South and it is 77 here. So I am a little chilly but a blanket will be good enough. Dude don't scare me like that.

As a refugee from California and a Texan in training, I was ROLLING when you talked about bringing more Californians to the South. Yes, I have a "Don't California My Texas" bumper sticker. Far as I'm concerned, as long as you want to adapt TO, not change, this place, you're more than welcome. Otherwise, go home and enjoy that. Leave the South as it is.

I *did* say welcome to a Californian who moved into the apartment above me, and her father who was helping her to move in. Gotta be neighborly and all. Apparently we were the first - and only - people in the entire state of Georgia to say that to them. That left such a big impression on her dad that a few months later they let us stay with them in Livermore for our honeymoon.
