how many of these have you read? anyone get better than my absolutely amazing score of eight? are there any that surprised you or that you think should be on this list?
@@sapphoslibrary ME TOO AHHH MY GIRLS 😭 ive got stars and blackness on my tbr but haven't managed to get into it properly yet and also gideon which im hoping to binge the trilogy once alecto is released! 🥰
ooh i hope you enjoy them!! i was waiting for the gideon trilogy to finish too but i'm giving into the hype bc i just can't wait any longer, especially with alecto being pushed back 😭
17438425% agree with this list, also not to be dramatic but everyone should read we are okay and everything leads to you by nina la cour (we are okay especially) we are okay for me is what the falling in love montage is for you if that makes sense lmao
So many great books here. I definitely want to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, This is How to Lose the Time War and The Priory of the Orange Tree!
There’s this book called amora: stories it’s a brazilian book that won one of the most important awards of literature in the country and it’s just amazing (the first book I read that was all about lesbians, my gaykid heart almost stopped lol) I really thing you should read it, it has been translanted for english last year
it’s definitely a relief that you’ve read so few, makes me feel a little better about only having read 7 😂 I’ve been planning to create a sapphic reading challenge for myself so looks like that’s my list sorted now! it’s so interesting to see what place everything ended up in, there are some incredible books on this list 😍😍😍
We Are Okay is probably one of my all-time favorite books. Read it back when I was sort of coming to terms with my queerness and something about it just made me feel so many emotions and I think about it all the time. Ugh. I think I'll re-read it soon. Especially since I finally have my own copy I can write in ((:
hell yeah! theres only 4 books on this list i haven't read yet (late to the party, cinderella is dead, the midnight lie, and the last true poets of the sea) - well that's a tbr right there^^
13:47 in had me laughing. "I am sorry to break this to you Americans, but no Scot has ever through that...it's really just the opposite, sorry" LOL. It does sound like something American lesbians would like, now I am not sure if I should just accept my American self hate, and read it anyway lol.
I'm actually the same surprisingly. I've read only eight of these, though I skew slightly more towards fantasy. Gideon the Ninth and its sequel are amazing, I hope you enjoy them.
just for fun gonna list the ones I haven't read yet: the miseducation of Cameron post (tho ive watched the film), her royal highness (which isn't rly on my list oops), summer of salt (I wanna read it so bad), on a sunbeam (NEED to read), Gideon the ninth (I own it so SOON), time war kinda I dnfd it but wanna try again :)
hi! great video, lots of new books basically got on my tbr) not sure if you're interested in randos from the internet recoomednding you books, but "Fortune favors the dead" by Steven Spotswood is impossibly good, i'm actually re-reading it at the moment) new yorl noir detective, mysterious interesting women (and both of mc, by the way) and sapphic relationship, what's not to love !
Inalso feel like I’m behind all the time, which is so sad because obvi this isn’t a race and no matter when you start reading sapphic(or lgbtq in general) books, you will have a great time!!
what you say about her royal highness is so true haha! the concept seems great, but as someone who also lives in scotland I just can't get past that aspect of it, which is a shame as it seems good otherwise :( thanks for all the recs!!
You should try reading Everything Love Is by Claire King, it's just amazing. The writer literally makes me dive into a world full of love, loss and hope !! ✨💘 The book's magic !!
