      I bought it today, basically it’s like the free one but at least it has no problems with the Fenix.
      I did two flights of 50 minutes each and didn’t encounter any problems.
      Regarding jittering, not happened to me using Fenix, first push was without Tug but smooth and on second flight the push was by Tug, both without any issues.
      I'm very surprised!

  • @nimzoknimzok

    FS2Crew Pushback express is my favourite tool. Mostly for the reason it uses two-way audio communication which makes pushing back far more immersive. And there are no glitches like jittering or pushing the A/C back with no tug attached. And the developer is very responsive.

    • @davidduhme7780
      @davidduhme7780 5 месяцев назад +1

      i bought it, but could not get a tug to work. It pushes, yes but not with tugs like GSX, at least for me. I'm still using GSX and it's alright. Overall I don't think FS2Crew is really that worth it in general

  • @iaexo
    @iaexo 5 месяцев назад +6

    I used to have the same problem where the aircraft jitters around, but it only happens if you don’t let the tug connect first, which as you can see was not done in this video. Now if you arrive on stand at a gate that has no tug, click manual pushback and you’ll see the tug spawn up and connect. Just hit stop pushback and the tug will return to its spawn position and you can then plan your pushback as per normal.
    In the case the tug does not spawn (I believe this may have something to do with how the scenery devs have configured their parking positions and classified the stands), you can do everything as per usual, including the planning of the push, you just need to hit “hold” and it’ll smoothly push you back, albeit without the visual model of the tug. I’ve used TPBP for over 1 year now with the PMDGs, Fenix, Horizon 787 etc. and have had no issues since. At some addon airports like NZA Simulations Christchurch you even get scenery devs replacing the default white/blue tug with a very nice custom model, the only caveat being that there won’t be any voices and you’ll need to press the “hold” button when ready for your pushback.
    This has been my experience with the free TPBP and if they haven’t massively rewritten the code it should all carry over nicely. Agree that they could add a more detailed manual tho… took me a while to figure things out.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  5 месяцев назад +8

      This should definitely be in the manual: The manual simply blames the non connecting tug on the airport scenery.
      For a freeware what you describe is totally understandable and okay, but if they turn it payware they should probably just do this internally... you know, as some kind of actually making it worth paying for.

    i almost exclusively flew the 737 in the last 4-5 months and *never* had an issue with the freeware pushback tool, altough the (experimental) voice lines almost never worked except randomly 2-3 times.. this wasn't a huge issue for me, and while the towing feature of the payware certainly is nice, i don't think i ever would have had use for it more than a couple times. i think i'll stick with the freeware version for now!

    I bought it this morning because. Attempted using it with the Headwind a330 at OMDB and it unfortunately did not work well at all. For some reason it would not recognize me releasing the brakes so I could not continue with the pushback. Feels like i wasted my money.

  • @SplashTubeMc
    @SplashTubeMc 5 месяцев назад +2

    My initial thoughts: Not very well suited product. Here are the details of my findings:
    I was able to complete a few pushbacks. Voices are good, flows are good (very VATSIM friendly), push + pull works well, editor works well and intuitive
    BUT lifting does not work for some reason. You can turn that off fortunately. Other than that: No clear sign with pin simulated like in GSX and generally with gsx you must be cautious ...
    1. after spawning at the airport, connect the tug via toolbar pushback
    2. then you can interact with GSX normally
    3. this also implies, that Fenix2GSX must not start any gsx actions automatically after spawning at the gate
    and another thing: For the tool to recognize that parking brakes are set after pushback completion at least one engine must be running. So it requires to start at least one engine to disconnect the tug
    Would recommend it for 10 euros but the gsx incompatibilities are quite severe

    • @SplashTubeMc
      @SplashTubeMc 5 месяцев назад

      Some additional information to the issue with GSX + Toolbar pushback combination:
      The problem is: The Toolbar pushback plugin calls a pushback truck from Asobo. As soon as we interact with GSX in any way, GSX deletes all the default ground vehices including the pushback truck that toolbar pushback activates.
      In Fenix2GSX you would need to disable automatic replacement, automatic jetway, PCA and so on. Anything that is connected to GSX

    the Shift-P thing - I mean if you're gonna go to the trouble of creating and publishing a freeware package for other people to use, this is absolutely the kind of thing you should include as a feature, if it's easy to implement, which it seems to be!

  • @simprove
    @simprove 3 месяца назад

    There's another issue with the PMDG pushback, visible in your video. The nosewheel does not respond to tug movements to steer it but the aircraft steers anyway. This isn't only a problem with Toolbar Pushback Pro (and Free), it's even a problem with their own, built in, pushback system. I think it's fair to say pushback in the 737 is a mess.

  • @drewer757
    @drewer757 5 месяцев назад

    I always had issues with the freeware version and PMDG 737s. . .until recently. What seemed to fix it for me was ensuring the "realistic parking brake" was set to ON. Since the freeware does what I need, I'm not "upgrading."

    It was great in the beginning phase of MSFS without GSX and stuff but I quickly moved away from it. That tool has caused so many CTDs for me, that I don't trust it anymore. It doesn't help that the payware UI looks very similar to the freeware, which triggers something in my brain. They should've rebranded it.

    I had a job to do, 128 FSEconomy passengers were waiting to be flown to EPBY. What followed was a somewhat embarrassing situation with toolbar pushback pro yesterday at EGPH with the Fenix A320 on the vatsim network. I planned a pushback and experimented with the options. I do not know what went wrong, but suddenly the only selectable button was the “Plan a Pushback“ button. All other options where greyed out. To be fair, I don’t know if this is a pebtac problem or a software bug. Anyway, I informed my polite vatsim ground controller to cancel my requested push and start. Then I exited the sim and tried another run. This time I had a nice, almost perfect pushback until I dismissed the tug. I had both engines running and ask the tower for taxi clearance. After cleared for taxi, I gently advanced the power levers but the aircraft did not move. Even with toga thrust, no movement. Btw, chocks were removed, and the parking brake was released. Stuck at the taxiway, I again had to contact the controller and asked him to cancel the flight. Tbh, I don’t know whether my own incompetency or “Pushback Pro“ is to blame. 128 Passenger still waiting for the flight. 🤣😂🤣✈Wtf!

    IRC the jitter on the PMDG was an issue in the free version and was linked to the realistic parking brake system that PMDG added. PMDG have subsequently added the option for a one button set/release of the parking brake in the menus and with that selected I haven't had a problem since.

    One thing I liked in xp11 with toolbar pushback; you could literally pull your plane across the entire airport, so I would pretend that I was being parked off stand while I planned my next flight. Than I would have it tugged back to a gate for the next leg. GSX can't do that. I think the free version is great for people that just want a decent push back. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with GSX, its not perfect but they've done a good job improving.

    Emi, I know that there is a race among RUclipsrs to be the first to make a review so that they get the most views, but you should be more careful before being so critical…
    I was a user of the free version but had a couple of issues with it. I didn’t want to buy GSX which would give me things I personally don’t need, so I was waiting for this new payware version.
    I hesitated after your review, but then went to see British AvGeek review wich is less critical and decide to go for it.
    I just installed it and did my first pushback flawlessly. The pushback was at EBLG, and the french accent voice of the ground crew is certainly worth the price I paid, and also I don’t have the issues I had with the freeware. Honestly, for me, worth the 10€ i paid for it.
    So, maybe think about going deeper into the addon before being so critical…

      Couldn't agree more.
      Likewise, GSX is overkill for my needs and I was more that happy to contribute a few GBP to the developer of Toolbar Pushback for his efforts with the freeware version, which i've used since initial release and always worked well for me! I purchased yesterday and had four short flights last night without issue. The new features are most welcome.
      Absolutely the responsibility of the reviewer to mention the issues observed using their own setup, but it would be a shame for the success of the product to be made or broken on the basis of such an early review. Clearly it isn't working well for Emm for whatever reason. For me however, so far it appears to be money well spent and pleased to have been able to support the developer (regardless of whether this was via Aerosoft or not!).

    I think GSX covers pretty much all of my pushback needs for airliners. However, I'd love someone to create a lightweight pushback tool for GA/Bizjet aircraft for when the parking options don't leave you with any space to do a 180, something like the old "Toolbar pushback" where you could plan a mini route with a nice GUI, but without all the software conflicts & memory leaks. I think Aerosoft really missed a trick here.

It does seem a bit of a coincidence that the changes in the Beta that partly break the free version happen when the payware version is just being released.

    • @sirkelzgaming318

      @@A330Driver so from what I can tell the payware version works with every default aircraft and now that they seemed to have fixed the PMDG issue it works with all the good payware planes. It works perfect with the Fenix and the a300 as well. Also, the pull feature has already came in very handy at some airports I recently departed from. Lastly, I was an exclusive user of the free ware before this version came out, I can say with certainty the planning piece of the free ware is borked, a lot of times it would glitch out and not work, no pull feature, and got red flagged by the Fenix. Lastly, Aerosoft seems to be updating as they said they would so I only see this getting better. For me it’s about the simplicity of getting a great pushback without the hassle of GSX. I like to watch GSX when people do it, but I don’t like other programs that require a bunch of updates and maintenance from me when really all I want is a great pushback. People have to down load profiles just to get a good pushback from gsx. I’m not into that, but I’m glad people enjoy it. It’s all preference I guess.
