You should try telling the AI that both of your pilots are dead, that you have in the past played msfs and know some things about flying but you need help to bring the plane down safely and see what happens

At 8:00 most airports I've been to expect you to switch over to tower freq when ready to go at the hold short line, usually when the runup area is close to the runway. For airports that have runup areas at the ramp you call up ground before entering a movement area with runup complete to get a taxi clearance, when approaching the runway they then tell you to monitor tower freq. Example of the latter: KAPA

One tip of mine which helped me get confident on vatsim, if anyone interested. Don't fly IFR first. Fly VFR, possibly in your country. However I understand that some countries only have controllers over controlled airspaces. My country has a lot of uncontrolled airspaces, I used to fly a lot communicating with information (semi flight following). It gives you a little more freedom and space to make mistakes and after you got used to talking to people, got confident and proficient make small cross country IFR routes so you can get accustomed to the IFR routine.

If it was not pronounced as "Tree" some speakers may pronounce three with an "S" sound, making it difficult to discern from the letter "C". Five is also pronounced as "Fife". London is not proper ICAO pronunciation and you may be taken to task for improper radio communication after the fact. Source: I worked in military communications for a decade or so, and we had to learn the NATO phonetic alphabet which is basically identical to ICAO pronunciations, in order to be clearly heard over HF radio comms.

It’s a concept we’ve all been waiting for, especially for FIR’s or airports that often don’t have a controller online in VATSIM. Right now onbviously the lag for back end processing is an issue, and some other bugs. But if they can sort that out, implement full IFR (preferably with CPDLC:DCL, PDC, and full VHF data comms over ACARS, AIRINC, etc) I would def be interested
The real problem of MSFS physics is that the implementation of a decent model is left to the developer of the plane itself. And if you talk about PMDG / Fenix / indie devs such as FBW, then you’re looking at good flight models. But if you take, for example, the Bredok3D 737 MAX, well you’re just describing the epitome of a bad flight model. That’s the real issue about MSFS. X-Plane is a little better in this case, because the model is, in fact, tied with the 3D representation itself.
The way the intonation of her voice changes after you tell her about the hijacking is impressive. She's still professional, but you can tell she's keyed up.

Ground does not transition you to tower, additionally when ATC clears you to taxi to a runway the assume a full length takeoff, but good call by clarifying.
8:07 and Ground is not required to give you a handoff to Tower. You are expected to switch to Tower on your own when reaching the hold short point. So the simulation is correct here.
My understanding is that there is a silent handover between GND and TWR in the US for departuring aircraft - that's probably why you didn't get any such handover
I really hope msfs 2024 uses something like this. Given the rise of ai it just seems logical ms would go this route and if they have it integrated with proper multyplayer then it will be incredible.

I love how we are three months into 2024 already with zero news on MSFS 2024. One of my hopes for 2024 is much better ATC options with the ability to declare emergencies and request emergency vehicles I mean RFS a mobile game has that ability.
They added new verbiage to their TOS: "I agree not to use this software to simulate illegal activities, such as hijackings, suicides, bombings, terrorist activities, etc. (Simulating emergencies is okay!!!)." I assume directly related to the posting of this video. 🤣🤣

Yeah Swiss is used to the ICAO way where they usually always give you a holding point even if its the first holding point on the runway.
