Wow, sorry your daughter had a wreck, hope she’s ok. Some jobs go easy and sometimes sourcing parts becomes the most difficult part of a repair. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work.
That kit pays for itself for any tech but especially mobile guys like myself! NOT turing away easy money just because you don't have the tool.......those days are over with this kit! Money, money, money........money!
What a set of circumstances! Thanks for putting the video out anyways. Shows how things - life and auto repair - go sometimes. Glad your daughter is okay!
The Hub Grappler is a bad beast. Had to purchase one awhile back for a press in bearing set up since carrying around a shop press in the work truck isn't practical. My only criticism is that they put it all in one case. It's a heavy son of a gun and makes me wonder how long the handle on that case is going to last. Glad nobody got hurt in the accident. That's the most important thing.
I'm glad you said that. I'm in Ohio, and watching this had me considering packing up my tools and driving south. Not really, but I'd be lying if I said the thought didn't cross my mind. Haha
FullClip69 i will say this, I've never had the pleasure of working under a snowed car, and that constant melting snow dripping everywhere! That would drive me nuts!
Those ice cold drips sure wake you up in the morning though! Better than coffee. And the puddles on the floor keep you on your toes! And make you appreciate non-slip boots, haha
Great video thanks brother. Got a great process of how you do it. Looks like the otc tool works pretty good. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother
you can actually use that drum puller that comes in the grappler kit to remove the hub from the bearing so you dont have to waste energy on the slide hammer
I wish cars were that easy to work on up here in Iowa! Those Cotter pins would have been destroyed as would the snap ring. Great video as always, send some of that rust free gravy this way.
You always provide great videos, as a new apprentice I've learned a ton from you. Keep up the great work. Also hope your daughter is o.k. after that accident.
I see you use a stubby 3/8ths impact a lot like me i like the 4th drive mode a lot and the power is unbelievable definitely my favourite tool these days
Pretty cool that Timkin is made like 10 miles away from where I live of course I’m in Vermont and that’s New Hampshire but it’s right across the river drive buy it on my way to get parts every day! I hope your daughter is ok sorry that happened
Man, I can't believe you got all that work done and she wrecked it within a 20 minute video 😁 Glad she's ok. It always sucks to just put money and work into something that gets wrecked. Been there.
When you get a bad bearing like that SKF in the open package, or even the one that dropped, who picks up the tab for that? Does that come out of your pocket or can the part be returned for a replacement? Thanks for the great videos.
I like OEM Civic rear replacement hubs with pressed in bearings and replacement struts complete with assembled struts cartridges and springs. Call me lazy, but I like to keep my fingers, toes and eyes intact.
@@flatratemaster tell them to come to me next time then... I just had a 02 Civic with control arm bolts welded into the bushings. The sawzall made quick work of of it lol.
How much can a wheel bearing be from Honda? It shouldn’t be that bad price wise. Hubs are pricey for sure but the bearings couldn’t be that horrible could they? I know Toyota is like 43$ for just the bearing. I’ve always reused hubs with no trouble then again I don’t do Honda very often at all so that could be different.
I recently got the astro version off of amazon and love it. It doesnt have the hub tamer, but I still would rather do it this way than on a press. Good video!
Yeah I just got the same one .. it seems pretty nice .. only used it once so far.. but only thing I'm concerned about is where to buy more forcing screws at if I need them cause that's the only thing I could see wearing out
You sure you didn't drop that one too .. lol jk jk .. but I just bought the Astro bearing installer and I only used it once so far but I like that tip of just using the plates not the "cup" also to get it started and moving .. very good video as always.. tho .. have a good night
Guessin someones returned the one with open bag - no way on them Chinese bearins. Strange they didn'ts have them in stock? Did somone hammer the SKF bearing then (since it was opened)?
Hey man, just got a question regarding imperial tools, i got a full set of wrenchs (metric and imperial), ive never used the imperials, would it be worth just selling the imperials and put the money towards other tools. Or should i just hold onto them? Cheers for Australia 🇭🇲
Quinn Ryan you will run into SAE If you’re doing enough work on a variety of vehicles. Specialty tools often require SAE tools to use them, and you will run into SAE bolts on hydraulic fasteners occasionally.
Damn buddy i hope your daughter wasnt hurting to bad the next day. Thanks for the video, idunno about everyone else but i like the longer videos you make. You would make a good instructor
No one was hurt in the accident, she was not texting and driving, she was distracted though, her boyfriend was riding in the car with her
Flat Rate Master glad everyone is ok poor Honda. I bet it would’ve made it to the 300k mark
Flat Rate Master Glad She And Everyone Are Ok 😐👍🏼
Thanks for the heads up on the people in the accident , glad everyone was ok
@steve joseph Really dude? Those people? Way to be ignorant and uninformed.
Glad everyone is oka
Loved working on cars in the south when I lived there. Bolts and screws coming out nice and easy
Always nice to see the shop foreman get his hands dirty, ha ha. You should do more of these. Glad to hear your daughter is OK.

Found a good tool and good music. That's a win win right there

Such a time saver tool. Done many with a homemade tool, but the otc is so much better.
Seems like the family jobs are always the ones that give you trouble! Love the OTC hub grappler, makes life so much easier!
Great Video Glad your Daughter is ok. Keep up the great work Mr. Flat Rate
Ok that came off way too easy! And I live in Florida 😆 great video Mike!

never mind. kept watching lol
Living in the north east. I’ve never seen a lock ring come out that easy.lol
Wisconsin makes working on cars fun.😃
Brian Alexander heard that brother
I got one of those. Love it. Had to buy it since the shop that I worked at the time would no buy one to due customer wheel bearings. Yay Portland.
I've always just used a press for bearings, would you say this is faster or just easier not having to deal with getting the knuckle straight

Great Video Bud!

You know it's a well loved tool when you see two forcing screws in the case.
Since comments are always appreciated, here is a comment: Thanks for the educational video!!!

I bought a hub grappler.
sure wish a wheel bearing job would come along so I can use it.

Glad she's ok. It always sucks to just put money and work into something that gets wrecked. Been there.
Excellent work brother
Could you leave the spindle on the car and use the Texas twister to remove the bearing race?
I use a slide hammer to remove the hub, and i only removed the spindle for filming
I need one of those, I've seen our master tech do it and never take the spindle out!
The Milwaukee gun is bad ass. I use mine at times to remove lugnuts from on fire trucks
It'd be great if you linked Tools used in your videos.
When you get a bad bearing like that SKF in the open package, or even the one that dropped, who picks up the tab for that? Does that come out of your pocket or can the part be returned for a replacement?
Thanks for the great videos.
Sent it back in as warranty
after you get the hub out run a fast weld bead on inside let it cool shake the bearing out that's just the why i do it
You ever use that hub grappler on a tundra or any truck that needs to press a bearing in and out?
Forcing screw will not fit
Oh ok damn
I Still Have a Hub Tamer I Need to Buy the Upgrade Kit.
Did She wreck it Before You Put another Bearing In?
Honda Totaled?
Yes totaled, no didn't get the other side done before

Ok now refilm the video with a car from upstate New York ;)
did the exact same job on a 2003 Honda Accord from Mass the other day, it went a lot smoother than this one;)

Oh my god!! I hope she is okay!!
Like that slide hammer tool, that’s legit.
Great video. What was it that made you make the move from Wisconsin to Georgia?
My dad moved the whole family to GA for work
Great vid. Glad your daughter is ok. Sad to see a good Honda go to waste.
The screw has to be one of the best inventions, think how many things work off of the screw.

Must b nice working on cars from the south, very rust free.... try working Midwest up north cars, them parts don't come out that easy💪🏽
If you're in the rust belt just unplug the ABS sensor and let the wire hang and just be carefull with the wire
dropped and open bearings = crashed car... got it!
Guessin someones returned the one with open bag - no way on them Chinese bearins. Strange they didn'ts have them in stock? Did somone hammer the SKF bearing then (since it was opened)?
only part stores near the shop are Pep Boys and Advance
Sounds like a great deal on that Honda.

all about your situation, if you might need them keep them if not sell them and get something you will use

Yeah buddy from Aleskyfinis
@8:15 that escalated quickly
Made me late today with a 20 min video. Great video tho!

Oem scan tools, 2 tough books etc
