  • Join me in making some Oven Door Towels for your kitchen or as a gift. They are a fun project which uses up your scrap material. You don’t have to put in a buttonhole and button, you can use Velcro or snaps as the closure.

WOW. I watched about 95% tutorials for towel holders. I found one I thought was good but discovered that yours is the greatest. I will make the pattern and have lots of closures. I love your pattern. You also answered my question about turning one piece of fabric backwards so when it turns forward it matches the print. I will be making these for Xmas gifts. Thank You for a great pattern.

I find that the bulk is more trouble than its worth. I cut my towels in two and that gives me ample towel to dry my hands and they don’t take for ever to dry when they get washed.

You made that look so easy! I love the way it looks finished so this will be my go-to from now on. Thank you for sharing 🥰

I used a walking foot when I did a similar towel and it really helped.

Insert a pin across the other end of the buttonhole this side of the bar tack so that the seam ripper doesn’t cut too far when opening the hole.

Why does my 8/12 width look so much larger than yours? need to figure it out but this is a great and easy pattern. I already have all my materials and off I go to make my first one. Thanks for the tutorial, very well made.

The measurements are in the video, within the first minute of the video. The basic measurements are 8 1/2” x 9 1/2”. Then start cutting about 4 1/2” from each side to meet in the top middle. Hope this helps.

    Good idea u have pattern

I don’t have a pattern but you can make your own pattern. To get the measurements across, fold your towel then measure across the top folded part and add one inch. To get the height measurement, measure 9” and curve the top.

I hate using the button hole feature on my singer. 😬. I love what it’s supposed to do but it’s never that easy
