We saw Puddles perform live. Before taking the stage, he worked his way through the audience and greeted every single person, pausing for photos any time someone asked. He really appreciates his fans. A real gem.
I worked at a venue where Puddles did a show a few years ago. The guy who was setting up the video system for the show couldn't get it right, so I was called in to fix it. I met Puddles, we chatted for a few, and then I got the system working right. During the show, he would go out into the audience, grab a person, bring them onstage, and do a song for them. It usually ended up with him singing Hapy Birthday to them, but he would call them Kevin. Anyway, he came out into the audience, grabbed me, took me onstage, and slid a costume on me. He then sang something (I couldn't hear what it was since he used in-ear monitors.) After that, he sang Happy Birthday to me, called me Kevin, then whispered into my ear, "You rock." Big Mike, the guy who plays Puddles, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet!

SOOOO happy you're reacting to Puddles. That clown is an absolutely brilliant mixture of fun, tragedy, parody and Human expression in general. All this in the package of a crooning juggernaut with a timeless voice. I keep going back to his covers of songs I don't like from bands I avoid: Coldplay's "Fix you", and MCR's "Helena", and Abba's "Dancing Queen" are songs I turn my nose up at, but somehow Puddles makes them amazing. So amazing that I keep going back. Puddles has also made me take another look at Electric Light Orchestra, and made me a fan of them... thanks to his mashup of "Telephone Line" and Adele's "Hello".
That is because some of us are here to experience, create and evolve and some of us others are here teach, herd cats (which I can do)... and gently nudge others toward their destinies. You NEVER know who you "touch" ... but, he may have been here solely to touch me or others... but he DEFINITELY touched my spirit and kept on track to my destiny. Thank you PPP
Yes, the pause is brilliant. Remember this is one of the "introductory" videos that first introduced Puddles. He played up the surprise value of coming out as a clown, and then delivering a perfect performance. I love Puddles. Saw him with my daughter at Joe's Pub in NYC - such a great show.
I describe his voice as RICH……VERY RICH! His brilliance allows him to be very recognizable when performing, and allows him to walk ANONYMOUSLY IN REGULAR LIFE…..simply brilliant!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Puddles is simply amazing. The one cover that he did that strikes me sooooo deep is Losing My Religion by REM. There is so much conviction in his eyes and in his voice. I cannot listen to it enough.
Saw Puddles live in Orland. Wonder and so funny live, and he scared my wife which was an extra benefit. After concert he went out to the lobby and let basically the entire audience line up to meet him. He is so appreciative.

Over the last two years I've noticed you getting better and better. Sometimes I find your commentary intrusive into the experience. But in this case, I find Big Mike Geier to be so intricate and special that I desired strongly to hear your thoughts. You did not disappoint. It was your unvarnished reactions that brought me to watch reaction videos in the first place. You are a delight to watch, and the less you interrupt, the better I like it. Not because I don't want to know what you have to say, but there's the thing called a groove in a song, that if ignored, noses the whole thing over. But this is a special piece, perfect for your discerning palate, and is this kind of thought that keeps me coming back. Many thanks. Peace,
Just discovered your channel today. Thank you for what you do. This song and your reactions brought tears to my eyes. I have very visceral reactions to music (movies as well) and often feel "wrong" about it. Most people I know don't show outwardly how it makes them feel. I love to dance and sing and don't have many outlets for it outside of my shower. It's gratifying to see you express yourself so openly.
His cover of Losing my Religion is heart breaking. One of his most poignant performances. A master class in taking a hit song and reimagining it and making it his own. Reminiscent of some of Eva Cassidy’s best work.

Clowns still creep me out, but when Puddles sings, it's magical. I imagine him in his lair, with bubbling beakers, and spooky lighting, putting his character together. Fun stuff. haha.
You have given us an amazing and insightful analysis of Puddles' vocal and theatrical performance. But now please listen closely to the piano. It was an absolutely brilliant arrangement that transformed the original mundane harmonic composition into something emotionally sublime.
Crazy train (chill edition)- Puddles Pitty Party I saw him in concert about 2 years ago and before he started he actually went through in shook every single hand at the venue.
Saw Puddles live last year. Surprisingly he’s better live. And dude is tall. Climbed up to the balcony to give everyone hugs and handshakes. Amazing performance!
He is so expressive in his singing he doesn't need to talk... The AGT video is how I found Puddles. I did not see it on TV as I don't watch it, but I saw it here about 2 months ago. The amount of emotion he displayed on that appearance, while never saying a word, got me.
Puddles singing All the Small Things is packed with emotion. But my absolute favorite PMJ arrangement is Miche Braden singing a blues cover of Purple Rain. It's just her and Scott Bradlee accompanying her on piano, and it's absolutely exquisite.
Wow, I love Puddles so much, and probably would have never noticed him without your video! Not only a fun video, but great music! I am really touched by the vocals, and never felt this way with the original song. Thank you!
@The Charismatic Voice - When you spoke of P3's enunciation and keeping his vowels aligned in the mask, I heard that P3 has that oldschool pre-mic-everything, sing-it-to-the-cheap-seats Broadway voice in his ample toolbox. Those backward covered tones you spoke of get accoustically swallowed by the rows and rows of padded audience bodies. At points in his performances, P3 gives a delightful reminder of Ethel Merman with his bright forward tone, and when he opens up. Give Merman's "There's No Business Like Show Business" a quick listen. Broadway voice developed another technique to mix volume with expression, a sung "stage whisper", allowing "soft" emotional phrases to still be heard and understood in the third balcony. I can't help hearing some of this in P3's flawless enunciation. trivia: Where stage actors and vocalists developed techniques to sound soft while still projecting, oldschool-trained movie/TV actors developed an opposite technique to simulate different levels of shouting, using rasp, gravel and fry, to not distort their lines or blow out the soundman's ears. They actually practiced for hours in front of a mic and gauges. It sounds like the needles should all be pinned to the top but are actually steady in the middle of the normal speech range.
Puddles Pity Party - In The End I love his voice,i love everything about him and again...the voice, intonation, with the lyrics from "In The End" always brings tears
Quick side note: Both of the background singers in this have done solo performances with PMJ. There is a lot to discover there. I don't know Cristina Gatti that well, but Robyn Adele Anderson has her own project on RUclips where she does similar things as PMJ does.

Real mindblowing moment was when they did Girls Just Wanna Have Fun with her in Bioshock Infinite style - the game in which making Scott Bradlee discovered PMJ style of music. In Elizabeths words - Super cool!
I so love and respect Sir Puddles intelligence and vocal abilities!
Amazing performance!
WOW ! ! ! ! ! !
Champagne to you Sir Puddles!
Thank you for your dissection of Sir Puddle's performance!
I really love your mind, heart and soul. Your face is great too!
Your understanding of music and singing helps me grow and understand what I'm heading.
Thank You so much ✌😘👍
💞💞💞💞💞
The Sound of Silence
Simon & Garfunkel = a warning
David Draimon = anger the warning was ignored
Puddles = sad that it's still being ignored
puddles Sound of Silence is great too
I would say it's more resignation then sadness...
Unique version of ""Sound of Silence ""
by >> DISTURBED
@@malegrissusran8847 She did
try Nevermore's cover of Sound of SIlence... u think Disturbed is angry hahahaha lol
this puddles is truly a true artist ..well rounded in all aspects of showman ship singing projecting the feeling and gestures .but watching you analyze the parts which make him so dynamic make it my favorite video ...so much fun to watch....
Personal fav Puddles cover is 'All the small things'. He really changes the dynamics of that song so much, it's just awesome.
Definitely one of the best acts that I’ve seen live. So much joy
I will hear a song and think oh my god, Puddles needs to sing this song. That voice- powerful and range like Elvis
Saw Puddles live in Orland. Wonder and so funny live, and he scared my wife which was an extra benefit. After concert he went out to the lobby and let basically the entire audience line up to meet him. He is so appreciative.
If you go down the Puddles worm hole far enough, there is an outdoor festival setting video recorded at night.Puddles leaves the stage , sings to an audience members dog- and the dog is mesmerized.
I'm trying to find this video, but i can't
Don't tease us. Give us the link.
Seeing him live is so fun, it's half concert half comedy show without him uttering a word. The best one man performance I've seen
Elizabeth, I knew you would appreciate this quirky genius of a clown....those of us who get puddles have been fascinated for years and now our fav opera babe taps in and we all love your bionic brow
She needs to see him in person. I can't wait until he's on tour again.
@@oftcrash he played forever here in Atlanta..... time for the politicians to get out of the way and let us heal
Something about the joy you express in your reactions: never forget how beautiful you are.
Puddles loves "Royals". He has two more videos on his own channel of punk and new wave versions of the song. During a concert last month he also performed a New Orleans jazz style version. I'm bummed that I'll likely be in a meeting during this premier, but I'll catch up on it as soon as I'm free.
There is no singer better than Puddles. If you are now just finding him you have so much more to discover. He is incredible. Every song he has sung is better than the originals. He has such a gift and we are the fortunate ones who get to listen to his music.
Puddles has one of those voices I could listen to for hours on end. Listening to him feels like sliding into crisp new sheets on a freshly made bed. You just feel like you are wrapped in wonderfulness.
I don't know anything about the artist Puddles other than the few RUclips videos I've seen the past few years. Amazing talent.
Thank's for the insightful analysis and fun! I'm now a subscriber!
As below stated his version of chandelier is mind-blowing. All of his performances on America's Got Talent are mind-blowing it's worth checking them out
He got screwed on that show!
Peace,
He's had lots of theater experience. His live show is such a treat!!
Isn't he like one of the most surprisingly impressive performers ever! Chills goosebumps laughs tears Puddles brings it all in one song.
I was waiting the whole time for her reaction when he walks out before the last line! Love the charismatic voice!
His cover of Losing my Religion is heart breaking. One of his most poignant performances. A master class in taking a hit song and reimagining it and making it his own. Reminiscent of some of Eva Cassidy’s best work.
I love Elizabeth, her enthusiasm and passion is so real, the little giggles and the awe in her face, every video makes me smile. I recommend watching all of puddles songs, in particular his version of Chandelier
I've only discovered this channel a couple of days ago and not only do I love it, but it's the first channel I've followed where I turned on the alerts for new videos. Your videos are wondrous, keep up the great work.
Her excitement and enthusiasm are infectious. For someone who comes from the classical/operatic music world, her joy in discovering non-conventional singers is amazing.
I have followed Puddles for years and could never put my finger on just what it is that is drawing me in. Thank you for putting into words exactly what I was feeling.
Puddle's version of "Stairway to Gilligan's Island" is a must listen. It's a good mashup, and Puddles does a great job.
Puddle’s facial expressions are priceless as well as his stage presence. Awesome, thanks for doing this video.
Seriously his most overlooked performance with the gang from PMJ is his rendition of Blink 182’s All the small things!
Hehe! They really got me with that ending too! Your reaction was hilarious!
I love PMJ! Puddles is wonderful! These classic songs from them in that white room tend to be my favorites. They're more intimate, fun and unpretentious. I like the acoustics. Watching them I feel like I'm in the room with them.
Scott Bradlee helps so many people to really shine.
I’ve seen Puddles in this video several years back and there were so many things that I enjoyed about.
I didn’t want your analysis to end! Thanks so much for breaking it down in detail!
Highly recommend reaction to his version of Chandelier, also his Sound of Silence has a great ending too.
You are my favorite music reaction channel, not only for your incredible talent, but your genuine reactions and appreciation for the music.
You know Mike is good when he's got Robyn Adele Anderson as a backup singer.
his version/mashup of "COME SAIL AWAY/LET IT GO" is unbelievably epic and beautiful in every way
I love this. I love puddles… you’re as hypnotizing as any of the artist you cover. I find myself get as excited about you getting excited, as you do about the songs.. I’m also very grateful for you explaining to me why I love certain songs…
♥️🫂♥️
His performance of "Hallelujah" is phenomenal
Puddles Pity Party is brilliant. His art speaks on so many levels.
It's both transfixing and thought provoking. And his voice is just beautiful. Words fail to do justice.
Clowns still creep me out, but when Puddles sings, it's magical. I imagine him in his lair, with bubbling beakers, and spooky lighting, putting his character together. Fun stuff. haha.
Puddles lives in a fairly normal house, but he apparently built a sweat lodge in his front yard a few months ago.
You have given us an amazing and insightful analysis of Puddles' vocal and theatrical performance. But now please listen closely to the piano. It was an absolutely brilliant arrangement that transformed the original mundane harmonic composition into something emotionally sublime.
Crazy train (chill edition)- Puddles Pitty Party
I saw him in concert about 2 years ago and before he started he actually went through in shook every single hand at the venue.
Saw Puddles live last year. Surprisingly he’s better live. And dude is tall. Climbed up to the balcony to give everyone hugs and handshakes. Amazing performance!
I read that he’s 6’8”.
Ever since I noticed they follow each other on Twitter I've been dreaming of a Puddles/Devin Townsend collab. 😁
Holy crap that would be amazing. They both have similar cheekiness on stage.
wow - now I'm waiting...
There's a reason that you've never seen the both of them in the same room....
I heard a reliable rumor that him and Devin have been chatting.
Yesssss🤘🤡🤘🤡🤘🤡🤘
He is so expressive in his singing he doesn't need to talk... The AGT video is how I found Puddles. I did not see it on TV as I don't watch it, but I saw it here about 2 months ago. The amount of emotion he displayed on that appearance, while never saying a word, got me.
Puddles singing All the Small Things is packed with emotion.
But my absolute favorite PMJ arrangement is Miche Braden singing a blues cover of Purple Rain. It's just her and Scott Bradlee accompanying her on piano, and it's absolutely exquisite.
All the small things is my favorite of his and absolutely amazing. It made me like blink-182 again just because of Puddle's. (his version is better)
It is! It and Jessie J version on Singer 2018 are masterpieces!!
Anything with Miche Braden is amazing!
Wow, I love Puddles so much, and probably would have never noticed him without your video! Not only a fun video, but great music! I am really touched by the vocals, and never felt this way with the original song. Thank you!
I think that she would also enjoy Leo Moracchioli aka Frog Leap Studios
Africaaaaaaaaaa 🤘😎🤘
Leo is an absolute genius!!!
Everything Leo does is fantastic, completely agree here
I just love seeing the pure joy in your reactions to his singing, and enjoy the commentary and explanation of his technique.
Well, you can give that credit to opera training too, they 've been singing to the cheap seats for centuries w/o amplication.
Loves Puddles. He puts on a GREAT live show! His rendition of "Hallelujah" is incredible.
I was hoping you would react to this one! also, their version of Sia's "Chandelier" featuring Dani Armstrong is a must hear.
I think their version with Puddles is better.
@@magnusbergqvist2123 His version was the first where I could finally understand the lyrics.
@@magnusbergqvist2123 Right, partygirl Puddles swinging from the chandalier... I would really like to see that, but the performance is great.
Puddles Pity Party - In The End
I love his voice,i love everything about him and again...the voice, intonation, with the lyrics from "In The End" always brings tears
Quick side note: Both of the background singers in this have done solo performances with PMJ. There is a lot to discover there. I don't know Cristina Gatti that well, but Robyn Adele Anderson has her own project on RUclips where she does similar things as PMJ does.
They both perform with him on "Team" also by Lorde.
Her Drunk in Love is classic!!
He does tour, and his shows are very good and entertaining. He does a great job of maintaining character, and singing his heart out.
He does a "Chillin" version of Crazy Train. I could actually understand the lyrics.
I'll ck out
I just love this song.❤🎉
