I mean... I've never heard of him, or the song, either. But then again, I'm European, and not a big fan of country music. Best guess is, he's either not very well known outside the US, or not very well known outside of country music fans. Or both!

His wife Morgane Stapleton has an INCREDIBLE voice and is a gifted songwriter in her own right. These two are an absolute powerhouse. Their harmonies in person are insane!! I saw them at a tiny venue on Robertson Blvd when they were transitioning from songwriting to his solo career and I nearly fainted dead on the couch when they started singing. Of all the live performances I've been to, and I've been to some good ones, theirs was hands down the most memorable and moving. They are sincerely kind and GIFTED humans. We're all so lucky that they take the time out to do these performances for us instead of staying behind the scenes as writers.
No brother, you are not. I think it's what keeps me coming back. All the great music helps though. I watched her fall in love with Iron maiden earlier today...Made me do it all over again.

Who is she? She's Morgane, his wife, and the only person capable of getting him on stage. He has such massive stage fright that he needs his wife up with him so he can constantly look toward her, his rock, to keep him stable and in the right frame of mind to perform in front of people. She's the reason he went from being a song writer to being a song performer.

I absolutely love watching vocal coaches react to Chris. None of you can manage to get past the first verse in under about 15 minutes, and by the second verse you're literally giggling. lol I seriously don't mean that in a negative way. I swear God made these two for each other. They compliment each other so well. How he looks at her while singing and she doesn’t take her eyes off of him.
He has the ability to not over tax his voice, as he has stated in interviews, because he doesn't constantly perform. He allows for an adequate recovery of the taxing that he puts on his voice durning performances. Love the content and insight that you bring to people from a pure vocal standpoint. Also, anything that he perfoms is an absolute enjoyment to the ears and soul.
I love seeing her so emotionally charged over this performance. Music does this to me as well. I have 43 years of sobriety and I love these types of songs.
Ive said it for years, and saw Chris live this week. Im CONVINCED having his wife on stage is 80% of the soul he puts in his voice. Amazing. If any of you get the chance to see CS live, GO!
Chris Stapleton was the lead singer for the Bluegrass band "The Steeldrivers." If you enjoyed this you should check out his live performance of "Sometimes I Cry" at the Bing Lounge, as well as his live performance of "I Was Wrong." On the latter, he plays an amazing guitar solo that showcases his skill. He also did an impromptu performance of James Brown's "It's a Man's World" when a band spotted him in the audience and asked him on stage. Stunning! I have yet to see or hear a performance of his that I didn't like.
I've been listening to The Steeldrivers and I didn't even realize. As I have not been living under a rock, I have been aware of Chris from this cover, but I have not sought out any of his other work. I'm going to go check out your recommendations now.
@@Pylodictisolivaris He was their lead singer and primary songwriter for their first two albums, so anything after that is someone else (Gary Nichols, and then Kelvin Damrell).
When he sang this song with Justin Timberlake at the CMA awards I don't think I've ever seen anyone enjoy themselves as much as they did singing a song
That performance was an entire band getting on the same vibration and just glow in the bliss of sitting in the pocket together. One of the magical unforgettable moments that musicians want to drown in every time they get a chance. Just beautiful.
So after discovering Elizabeth I’m falling for her raw and honest emotions I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so bare, it’s extremely attractive as a quality and equally rare. Her knowledge only adds another layer to her attraction.
Like a lot of folks, I show up for Elizabeth's facial expressions and body language. :) I could watch the videos with no sound. lol They always make me smile.
I adore your reactions. Your love for talent in any genre just makes me so happy! I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much for sharing your appreciation and knowledge with us.
That's his wife doing the harmonizing. They are magic together. I'm so happy you finally discovered Chris. Also, his wife is quite the vocalist in her own rite.
Elizabeth, I could watch your reaction videos ALL DAY. Yes, your analytical breakdown of singer's style is nothing short of amazing. But what does it for me is the way you so INTENTLY listen. Watching your eyes roam from the video so that you just hear the singer and not watch his actions. Man, it just floors me! I have never seen anyone LISTEN that intently. Yes, we all hear the voices and the music! But you are on another level ! Have been a really big fan of yours ever since I first watched one of your reaction videos! Plus the fact that you delve into just about all genres of music makes your channel that much more special. KEEP DOING YOU GIRL. Your subscribers here LOVE IT!
A great added layer to this performance is watching Chris look stage left so often; he's looking at his wife, who's singing backup. He's singing this great song to her.
I've seen Chris live twice, the first time it was Him on lead guitar and vocals, the drummer, the bass player, and his wife on backing vocals and tambourine. That simple four person band played the best damn concert I've ever seen.
This comment, exactly....the first time I saw him was in 2016 in Sioux City, South Dakota at the Hard Rock.. he turned a big stage into an intimate ring of soft light for him, Morgan, and his small band. The second time was at Century Link, it was still good, but nothing like that first night...it was beautiful. I was supposed to see him again last year at the Iowa State fair, and it would have been a similar venue, but GD covid
I never would have made the connection to Dio, but I hear what you're talking about! I always describe him as "If Aretha Franklin was a white dude from Kentucky."
He has such a wide range of songs. Some more bluesy like this, others more what you’d expect from country. My favorite part about him is that he sticks to a more old school style country, it has modern aspects, but he doesn’t jump right into the really poppy sort of country music on the radio. I will say, his best work is when he was with the steel drivers, songs like heaven sent or where rainbows never die are some of my favorites. That is definitely a modern bluegrass style, which bluegrass is a type of country music. I love it.
Ya know why youre great? Despite the success, money, good looks, charisma, etc. Youre still absolutely gushing like a fan girl when you see true talent. That true love foe the art of it is something you can't fake. You and Chris Stapleton rule. You have a blast out there and its infectious.
You make me smile so much my face hurts. Your joy is so infectious. Keep it up. Your channel will grow. People need more options of entertainment that isn't preaching at them constantly. Thanks you.
I’m not a country guy but he made me a fan. Took my ex to a concert in town and to this day is the best live voice I’ve ever heard. He’s even better than the studio recordings. It’s unreal.
First off I have to say I love your enthusiasm. It's so much joy and love that's showing. Just awesome. And about Chris...the first time I heard him I immediately thought of Al Green actually.
She’s so knowledgeable in all aspects of music. Not just vocals. Even counting time signatures. I’m a bass player former drummer and still can’t always count. More of a feel for me but. Yeah. She’s incredible musically
He actually still has stage fright. That's why is wife still sings with him most of the time. Just watched him in Nashville and he went almost 3 hours without a break. Incredible show.
I thoroughly enjoy watching someone experience such pure joy over such a variety of music. I like to think I listen to just about everything, and I am discovering new stuff every time I watch this channel.
I would literally listen to her review absolutely anything. Me...driving home from the store with her in the passenger seat...reviewing every turn I make, the speed, how I brake...I don't care. I just want to hear her review more things.
Happy International Women's Day to Elizabeth the charismatic matriarch 😆 I must say country isn't my usual jam but you know your way in making things interesting and fun. Much love ❤
Ridiculous. This "song" is 'I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James and that's why it's good; because it's not country. Putting a cowboy hat on and singing some mullet head's lyrics to it doesn't make it country anymore than putting a cowboy hat on and talking about cattle makes you a cowboy.
Wow... That's amazing.... and his wife harmonizes with him so effortlessly.... you barely notices she's there, but she adds volumes to his sultry country blues. And your reactions.... priceless.... yeh, you're definitely feeling the song as you hear it.
Thank you, for reminding me of all the reasons I fell in love with my favorite bands and songs. Watching your reactions and joyful delight in the first hearing of these songs have given me the opportunity to relive the delight and wonder I felt then.
My childhood best friend’s father wrote this song. Seeing this reaction video just brought me to tears! Such a great song! It’s been amazing to see what a revival Chris Stapleton brought to this timeless country song by Dean Dillon. 🙏
The interesting thing about Chris to me, aside from his obvious incredible talent, is while categorized, as a country artist, and a bluegrass artist, this dude does a lot of just straight up Delta Blues style delivery. He's am amazing vocalist. As another suggetion of his, I believe from this same show, is "Sometimes I cry". It's AMAZING! Thank you Elizabeth.
I absolutely love these reviews. It reminds me of the things that have kept me playing music all my life. So entertaining to watch how she gets the different styles and is never snooty about them. Love it.

Also, anything that he perfoms is an absolute enjoyment to the ears and soul.
I love seeing her so emotionally charged over this performance. Music does this to me as well. I have 43 years of sobriety and I love these types of songs.
Congratulations buddy- you keep it up and keep listening for music that keeps you strong.
...kinda like " whiskey lullabye"
Listening to Chris for the first time and singing "Tennessee Whiskey " is like your first car being a Ferrari
You would enjoy Chris Stapelton's "Sometime I cry" BING LOUNGE performance.
Stunning performance
I think that's his worst song by far
An excellent choice
@@joshestess why is that?
Exactly
Unbelievable
The women is his wife, she is his anchor. He's nervous on stage and she helps ground him.
That’s the cutest shit
When he sang this song with Justin Timberlake at the CMA awards I don't think I've ever seen anyone enjoy themselves as much as they did singing a song
Also gave rise to the comment that even Timberlake is more country than Florida-Georgia Line
Arguably one of the best performances of all time!
That performance was an entire band getting on the same vibration and just glow in the bliss of sitting in the pocket together. One of the magical unforgettable moments that musicians want to drown in every time they get a chance. Just beautiful.
One of my favorite performances ever, was this duo.
She needs to see that version!! It's one of the BEST live performances of ALL TIME! ❤❤❤
Dicen que Morgane es su hermana..no su esposa.
@@danielcontreras9896 THEY HAVE 5 CHILDREN (4 BOYS & 1 GIRL) TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!
You have by far the best insight on singers and vocals I've heard in a very long time.
You dont listen to Chris, you feel him...
Lol yep looks like she felt him real good lol
I have a feeling there will be more Chris in her future ..... as there should be he is an American country/blues icon.
I love how giddy you get when you hear the true legendary performances. I love your reactions!! ❤️
A great added layer to this performance is watching Chris look stage left so often; he's looking at his wife, who's singing backup. He's singing this great song to her.
Oh my god, I didn’t know that, that’s so damn sweet. Sorry to every other lady though 🤣
That comparison is perfect. If only we could have heard them sing together.
That's the strangest thing I've ever heard AND 100% accurate lol
Listen to his stuff with the Jompson Brothers. You can hear it in the song "Ride my Rocket"
@Chris Stapleton go away troll 😈
Excellent review of an excellent version of an excellent song! Thank you for all you give to us, Elizabeth.
I always thought it was weird he's classified as country - his sound is the blues straight up.
If you do anything in a cowboy hat it is country, apparently.
He's from bluegrass search the steel drivers. They classify bluegrass as "country" which is beyond me.
I love it.
Country and the blues go hand and hand. He’s more reminiscent of classic country than modern country.
I consider him Americana as Jason Isbell. Who we also need Elizabeth to check out.
If you really want to be surprised you should listen to Chris singing "This is a man's world." Its remarkable.
100%%%%!!!!!!!!
I third this!!!!!
That saying a lot but gonna say as a regular Joe that might be the best it's definitely top 3
im glad that you finally did a Chris Stapleton song but there are so many other songs. please continue to listen and react to him.
Ya know why youre great? Despite the success, money, good looks, charisma, etc. Youre still absolutely gushing like a fan girl when you see true talent. That true love foe the art of it is something you can't fake. You and Chris Stapleton rule. You have a blast out there and its infectious.
I love the way he's riffing...
Me: sip my moonshine knowin what's coming
You make me smile so much my face hurts. Your joy is so infectious. Keep it up. Your channel will grow. People need more options of entertainment that isn't preaching at them constantly. Thanks you.
The performance of this song with Chris and Justin Timberlake is a work of art.
Amen to that! ❤ would love to see her review that one!!
I’m not a country guy but he made me a fan. Took my ex to a concert in town and to this day is the best live voice I’ve ever heard. He’s even better than the studio recordings. It’s unreal.
OMG she’s become the ultimate flirty school girl. If a song could get a girl pregnant, this one just did!
She was def dripping lololol
She does the same thing with her reaction to Sound of Silence.
Good thing is that she actually knows what she’s talking about.Unlike most reaction videos.
This song is responsible for a lot of pregnancies lol
I could listen to the vocal gymnastics of Chris Stapleton all day every day! AMAZING!!
Chris Stapleton: *breathes*
Elizabeth: *swoons and faints*
Me too tho
So much feeling in everything he sings. Chris is the man and his wife is incredible as well!
Don't think I've seen Elizabeth crush that hard since the Haley Reinhart reaction.
She crushed pretty hard on Corey Taylor, also
Also devin townsend
What song by HR??!!
@@elinino5275 Creep (not you, that's the name of the song).
I would literally listen to her review absolutely anything. Me...driving home from the store with her in the passenger seat...reviewing every turn I make, the speed, how I brake...I don't care. I just want to hear her review more things.
You just put her into perfect perspective for all us guys longing for a girl like this. She seems so sweet, genuine and a little innocent.
Happy International Women's Day to Elizabeth the charismatic matriarch 😆 I must say country isn't my usual jam but you know your way in making things interesting and fun. Much love ❤
Hi Juliette, Happy International Women's Day to you too!!! ❤

I really liked watching you do Chris Stapleton, Tennessee Whiskey. I went back and watched it like 5 times. LOVED YOUR REACTION.
One of the only actual country artists out today. I get chills every time I hear this song.
That moment when someone that truly understands vocals hears this song for the first time... that look on your face is why I watch these videos.
Thank you for finding so much joy in this. You make understanding technique fun.
Your reaction to this was amazing to watch. He is an incredible singer and to see you get so excited listening to him, was a joy to watch. Thanks
Love watching you react to good music! That little giggle gets me every time.🥰🥰😎😎😎😎
Check out his cover of "Whipping Post' with Gregg Allman in the audience.
Yessss. She also needs to do some Allman brother songs
oh I bet that is amazing. Gonna check that out.
true story??
The interesting thing about Chris to me, aside from his obvious incredible talent, is while categorized, as a country artist, and a bluegrass artist, this dude does a lot of just straight up Delta Blues style delivery. He's am amazing vocalist. As another suggetion of his, I believe from this same show, is "Sometimes I cry". It's AMAZING! Thank you Elizabeth.
Stapleton reminds me of Gregg Allman in the best possible way.
Chris Stapleton is so good...and her informed reaction was priceless and as enjoyable as his performance.
I love the way you move and your smile brightens when you get excited with some singers
I absolutely love these reviews. It reminds me of the things that have kept me playing music all my life. So entertaining to watch how she gets the different styles and is never snooty about them. Love it.
You give the most intelligent commentary of all of the "reaction" videos I've watched on RUclips. It helps when someone knows his/her trade.
If I'm having a bad day, I watch this review over. Her reactions truly make me smile and laugh. I love this!
