      @hondaresource I was thinking an ebay oem style since the scrapping is the big oem resonator... the ebay one is a slim one

    I purchased these exact coilovers for my RD1 and had the same issue where the front coils, being bottomed out with just the slightest amount of preload, left them basically at stock height. I reached out to maxpeeding rods and they asked me to send them pictures of my car before and after. I purchased these when they pretty much first came out and there weren't any reviews on them yet. I was hoping that maxpeeding rods had payed attention to the previous reviews of their original coiloevers for the RD1 and RD2 that are all over RUclips and fixed the whole not enough low in the front problem. The build quality of these seems great its just a shame that the fronts don't go low enough. I am not a RUclips content creator so I highly doubt they would even bother giving me the same attention they gave you to address the problem. Also I think my warranty is up so they probably wont even bother trying to help anymore. I ended up buying some top hat extenders, I have yet to install them though. I daily my CRV with over 180 miles a day and the coilovers ride super smooth, I have no complaint with the ride quality, other than it not being low enough.

    I just went bilstein, but it precluded using aftermarket tophats because I lost too much travel with the bigger shock body, limiting my drop to 1/2" using the clips. I live on crappy roads and put them to hard use and usually go fo companies known for longevity like bilstien, tokico, koni and like to go for rebuildable/revalvable pressurized monoshocks over dual-tube where possible. But I am encouraged to see maxpeeding rods continually improving their product. Seems like they already mostly fixed the blown seal issue, and made some basic fixes as a result of feedback and experince. A bit better valving and they might me my next set. I have found truhart to be more reliable, but overpriced and often rebadged crap. I wonder why MSR wouldn't go inverted to take the shock weight off the suspension (unsprung) and give space for full-travel while eliminating the tophat. It's clear that the suspension travel is less than OEM with the maxspeedingrods product. That said, it took 325k and 25 years for one of my og tokico (rip) shocks to start leaking.

      Yeah, in the past, I've used more widely known brands. I just look at it this way, everyone has to start somewhere. As long as they are continuing to improve them, I'll give them a shot. It was really cool to have them listen to me and promptly make changes to accommodate my request.

    My son got Maxpeeding Rods coilovers and they broke. The rear passenger broke from the mount and the front driverside bent. So we did stock mcpherson struts and installed H&R 2 inch lowering springs all around.

    as a none youtuber/ affiliate with max speeding rods you are better off spending the extra 150-200 on a set of tru hart coilovers for the crv since they wont send you parts to make it go lower..i was actually rooting for maxspeeding rods since i like to save couple bucks on builds but they havent nailed it yet..keep on trying max speeding rods im sure you will eventually get it down

    • @hondaresource

      Hopefully with my recommendations, MXR changes the front shocks to the ones I have now. They are definitely capable of going low. Mine still has pretty good ride quality despite being low.

    I saw the video great content. I want to buy the these coilovers. But didn't want to have the issue with ride height. I call maxspeedrod today to ask if they would just send me the replacement so didn't have the issue. They said they're out of stock. Any other suggestions. Maybe go with civic coilovers or 6th gen accord?

    • @nobodynoone2500
      @nobodynoone2500 10 месяцев назад +2

      I've had 4 of these, never had this issue. Is your header or exhaust aftermarket? Where does it scrape?
      My crappy 1320 one hangs all wonky and sucks, but still never scrapes with a 1/2" drop on washed out rural roads.
      Rule of thumb, if the rear lower control arms are below paralell, your handling will suffer. Might wanna bump it a bit for handling, look up "roll center" to see what I mean.

    • @johnvela8189
      @johnvela8189 10 месяцев назад

      @nobodynoone2500 it's all owm header and exhaust but noticed it hangs very very low... the resonator is about 1 inch off the ground... is that normal... or will a new bolt on exhaust fix it
