Geez, seeing Phil dismantle then reassemble the whole suspension in less then a handful of minutes makes me envious only because I live in New Jersey where salt is used on the roads to melt wintertime snow making my 1998 Honda CR-V almost impossible to work on. It took me 2 hours just to remove the front rotor using a 4 lbs sledgehammer & 3 jaw puller. Currently, I'm stuck trying to remove a seized upper control arm bolt...
sheeeesh, I've always said that I wouldn't work on cars if I was up north
I have a 98 in Jersey too, luckily I don’t have any rust *yet* because it’s from Alabama
Exactly they video i need to see!!😊
Excellent repair, install & video...
Thank you
I need those stickers for my Grids lol. Another great vid man!
I had them made locally
That Stache is STRONG!!!! I can't look away lol
😂
I just had maxspeeding coil overs put on my crv rd1 I had a 3 inch lift kit put on as well but they also did all the tie rods control arms I’m in australia and I had all the bits sent from Clearwater Florida. Japanese manufactured car so they are all the same. I haven’t finished with the ride height adjustment or the cambers yet. And I’ve had that drama with the cheap pads it’s the compounds they use.. I had mine start to fade coming down cradle mountain in tassy. Had to keep pulling over let them cool down.
Nice!
Awesome setup
thanks man
Dude my man... I am absolutely DYING over your safety crocs. I am screenshotting and sending to my gf. I work in my crocs as often as I can!
Yessir! Pretty comfy!
I just found out that I have a little yeeter of my own 🙂 a 2000 rd1 crv with 377 thousand miles on it. Poor things lived in the ohio rust belt it's whole life and needs some TLC but has always been a solid car after seeing your videos and working on some of the cars I have in the past ive found so much more faith in my tiny curvivor
heck yeah man! Glad to have you here!
Edited to add one more comment.
Its not a proportioning problem. It could mitigate some of it, but masks the real problem.
You're trying to use the stock amount of pressure and volume from your brake master cylinder to your brake cylinders on the calipers. If they were the same surface area and amount of cylinder, you would see no change at all. Problem is you increased cylinder count and probably surface area per cylinder as well, so the same amount of energy is being distributed across a lot more surface area. You need a master cylinder that can supply more volume and pressure to compensate.
*Edit* ABS pump removal may assist as well. Once done, you are pressurizing a secondary system (lines) with your brake mc that will be pushing the same amount. This will increase pressure slightly in the lines. Between pump removal and a proportioning valve that would move the ratio slightly more to the front, it may be enough to reduce your fade and allow steady pressure. Good luck!
I dont have the stock MC, I have a larger 1" bore MC. The problem is the MC though because it has air in the fluid coming directly out of the rear port.
❤
After I bled my brembos and installed brembo pads it feels like the oem calipers have more stopping force/ power.
Hopefully this abs delete helps mine (abs wasn't functional anyway)
It’s the cheap pads.
And one other thing I have my Hyundai rear brembo for the front brakes replacement did you use the rear brembo pads for the Hyundai for the brakes replacement for the front or use the oem crv pads with brembo ?
You have to use the pads that match the calipers
Looks like there is a nail in your front drivers tire.
I didn't notice, but I'll check it out
Hey man love your videos. Have you ever heard of putting a Honda crosstour differential in the crv? Is it better than the 07-11 crv diff because of the v6?
It's the same as the 07-11. Same part number
It's the same as the 07-11. Same part number
Question unrelated to the video, how is the phantom grip in the rear diff holding up so far? I know you put it in awhile ago. Any metal in the fluid or anything weird?
I actually swapped the diff a month or two ago, but unrelated to the phantom grip. I'll pull it apart for a video one day.
You might have to do a 0-60 then back to 0 test with stock calipers and brembos.
I could do that. I have a dragy
Hey man love your vids is it normal for the passenger side axle seal in the tranny to leak after changing the axle?
no, you may have cut the seal with your axle
Seems like a straightforward fix fortunately
When will these max speeds lift coilovers be available for purchase online?
I'm not sure, still figuring out the rear
Can you please tell us the specs on the rear coil overs at max full length compared to the stock coil over, so we can get an idea if they can be used to lift the rear like you did to the front.
I haven't had a chance to install them yet. I've been busy getting a new shop. Hopefully soon.
@@hondaresource good luck with the new shop, thanks for the good Crv videos
What brand and model is the maxspeedrod I’m looking as we speak and it says lowering please help !!
Mine are custom. They aren't currently available
Did the break pads fix the brembo issues
No, it was the master cylinder
Where can I buy these coil overs?
Is there a link?
Thnx!
They are currently available until we finalize a couple things
How does this affect the angle on the cv axles? I see that anything over 1.5” up front puts it at a bad angle
This is the same height as it was before.
My one the front had to come down and I put a extra 10 mm on the back but I still think it needs to go higher
@@hondaresource no subframe spacers though right?
How did the coilovers work for you are they good??
so far so good. I still need to install the rear ones. I'm in the process of getting a new shop and will tackle that after I get moved.
What axle did you go with?
This is a duralast gold
