- Part of the five-disc set highlighting the Miami Hurricanes' national championship seasons in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 2001-this is the fifth disc that goes game-by-game of The U's perfect 12-0 season in 2001, with the best and most-loaded team the sport has ever seen.
Over the next three NFL Drafts (2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005) the Miami Hurricanes had 16 first round draft picks and 33 overall picks. Видеоклипы
They'll never be a team like this in college football history
what a joke. Who did they beat and by how much? BC drove it down their throats on that last drive and they could do nothing but hope for a prayer. Neb was a shell. We ALL saw Neb vs CO.
Alabama under Nick Saban was better.
2019 LSU had the best season in college football history. The 2001 Canes are up there but their schedule was cake that year. They also played the worst FSU team of the Bobby Bowden era and had very close calls with BC and Virginia Tech. I would argue the 2000 Canes were just about as good but get no credit. Their schedule was harder. They played the last great FSU Bobby Bowden team and Washington in Seattle which is a tough place to play plus Spurrier's Gators in the Bowl game. 2001 Miami should have played 2001 UF but they were upset by Tennessee which probably doesn't happen if the game was played when it was originally scheduled in September. (The game was moved due to 9/11). Nebraska was a joke of an opponent in the Rose Bowl having gotten throttled by 32 points versus Colorado that year. How that Nebraska team got in the Rose Bowl is a travesty.
Really real talk
Best College Football Team Ever 2001 Miami Hurricanes Go Canes 🙌
That backfield they had is insane. Portis, McGahee, and Gore? Lord bless lol
Davenport and Payton were bad boys, too!
That play by Ed Reed at 18:49 is exactly what he legacy is! Effort, Intensity and a drive to score every time he touches the football
Thats the exact moment I knew they made a deal with devil and would be unbeatable. 😂
Bro almost slipped n made a juke in the same time
The greatest college football team of all time🙌
Didn’t even realize Buchanon was this much of a savage! He was a dog in the old Street football game so it makes sense
Joaquin said "DOMINATE!"
Miami is hall of Fame U. The most dominant team of the 80s and 90s we had the best team in 2001. Frank Gore a hall of famer, Andre Johnsonr, Bryant McKinney, Jeremy Shockey, Ed Reed, all of hall of famers. Sean Taylor will eventually make the hall of fame. Reggie Wayne will get a gold jacket. We are coming back people. Look at our recruiting class this year. Our defensive line is STACKED and we have the 4th best class in the nation in recruiting and probably will finish 1st. We have the coolest helmets and those green jerseys are straight up ballin the U is where it's at.
I remember hearing about coach schnellenberger got big time recruits cuz he was one of few coaches with the balls the visit players in bad naghborhoods
THE GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME ,AND THERES NO DEBATE !!!!!WOOOO GO CANES
This team was special just to win despite having Coker as the HC..he did the least, with the most
Lol that’s why they wanted Coker lol ed reed asked for him
The whole team loved Larry Coker and wanted him as the head coach
@theU5xchamps they did want him immediately after Butch..but when he had to recruit his own players an coach, nowhere close to the same level Butch set
@gr5382 lmao you obviously don't know Larry Coker was the one who got Johnathon Vilma, andre Johnson, frank gore, Ken Dorsey to sign with the U. Was he a laid back coach ? Yes. Was he horrible? I think not. You just have shitty facts your going off of
Greatest team ever assembled
Miami teams were a NFL all-star team later in the pros unbelievable
Their running back room alone, Portis, McGahee, Davenport, Frank Gore, and Jarrett Payton rushed for a combined 36,236 yards, 236 TD’s and 9 Pro Bowls, all but Payton rushed for 500 yards in a season and all but Payton and Davenport rushed for 1,200 yards in a season
Geez. Ed Reed and Vilma. Just to scratch the surface. That Canes team TBE in college football.
The Hurricanes should have at least seven National Championships!
Great video i loved reed and McGahee the most
This kind of team will never happen again, this is was a nfl roster almost
Board up your windows.Know your evacuation route.Gather all your loved ones and pets.A unmeasurable storm is brewing in Miami. We will be feared again.
One of my great childhood memories I was 11 years old. I was crushed Ken Dorsey did not make it big in the NFL
I wish I could write a movie 🎬 about the Canes and the Miami hurricane 🌀 life. Or SMU and the suspension The Poney Express. Football is life especially in Texas ❤
Will the canes ever have a team like this again
If you go by stats, this Miami Hurricanes squad was the best college football team of all time!
🐐 NODEBATE
Should have 8 or 9 rings. Got robbed a couple times. Not even debatable
That crap call with Notre Dame in 88 and the fiasco in the Fiesta. What was funny in 88 is the fisting irish threatened to stay at home if they were matched against the Hurricanes in a bowl. They knew Jimmy Johnson and the Canes would have curb stomped them in a rematch.
87, 2000, and 2002
Real shit, not even debatable... Go Canes
For sure 2000 and 2002 definitely
Coker had no business as a head coach of a D1 program, especially a program with the championship pedigree of Miami. I do give him his flowers for guiding that 2001 team to a championship.
It's not Cokers fault that those running the program offered poor pay and modest facilities. Giving the keys to the kingdom to the OC without a thorough coaching search was lazy and disappointing. It would have been far more palatable if Coker had become the HC after a true coaching search. Oh well, old history.
The players wanted him that's why he became hc
@@keithbroussard8945 you are 💯 percent correct, but it's common for young men in the circumstance of the unknown with a replacement coach to favor someone on staff. It's the University's responsibility to have the very best candidate take the job. The "U" has a history of advancing coordinators with little sustainable success ( Butch Davis being the exception). The unfortunate consequence of this practice and, of course, the Golden debacle, is decades of mediocrity.
The current challenge is convincing a jaded fan base to be patient while the team is rebuilt and learns how to win. Yes a culture of winning has to be developed, especially with a team that has a culture of losing every big game the past 20 years.
Shockey my man =)
Extremely physical TE, sure handed 200% on every play.
@@joejackson9295 that team was stacked for sure
Do you have other discs? 1983 1987, 1989, 1991. I would love to get a downloaded version if it is possible.
this
I got em
Toke a loss in 1999 to Washington and didn't lose till 2002 Natty vs Ohio st.
The then BCS and NCAA cheated Miami in 2000 and 2002 out of two out of three National Championships!
The 2001 Miami team was good, but not elite. The level of competition was lacking back then.
Over rated team with a lot of hype but not elite
😂
2001 canes could of been a nfl team. They were that great. Didnt matter who we played we would destroy anyone who we would of played. Nebraska got the honor to be destroyed by us. 🙌
