  • A great breakdown and recap of an epic 2002 football season for the defending national champion Miami Hurricanes-a 12-0 regular season, a 34-game win-streak and second consecutive title game appearance-ending on a bogus call against Ohio State in overtime.
Highlights of the season included a road route of No. 6 Florida in Gainesville, 41-16-shutting down any Gators chatter that they would've given the Canes a fit in the Rose Bowl (had they not lost a late 2001 season rescheduled game against Tennessee)-as well as a thrilling comeback against No. 9 Florida State weeks later; a 27-14 second half deficit made up, as Miami prevailed 28-27 after the Noles' potential game-winning kick sailed left.
Miami also got a rare road win at Tennessee, beat Big East rival West Virginia in Morgantown, took out a talented Pittsburgh team at home, rolled Syracuse in The Dome and survived a back and forth affair with rival Virginia Tech, 56-45-punching The U's ticket to Tempe.

The only reason is got to overtime is because the ref missed a 1st down catch with about 2 minutes ago for Ohio State that would’ve ended the game. They didn’t get robbed

@gr5382 Would’ve, should’ve, could’ve. Testaverde was the best player in the sport and Penn State’s defense played unbelievable and were the better team on that night. I like how you leave out the fact that Bowden went for 2 instead of taking the extra point in ‘87, which may have resulted in FSU winning it all. Then in ‘88 Andre Brown trapped the ball which sent up the 2 point conversion

@@AJSchneider-ot1ux I could mention the cheap hit on Mcgahee and other missed calls throughout the game. We all know there is holding on 80% of the plays in football. I think most knowledgeable fans agree this blown call to decide the championship was pretty egregious, much more so then any other call. This one actually decided the game. The Sean Taylor interception return and Clarrett getting the ball despite not having actual possession was B.S. too
