Police just can’t act on what happens in the mind, even if they are deviant & perverse and express their thoughts openly.
That’s when the pressure of social standards & cultural norms should kick in. People around a potential predator, the media, prison hierarchies- our norms tell them it’s not normal, or acceptable. The person learns quickly they need to get help. Some do. Some don’t & learn to hide it.
Some, start cults where they can create their own social norms and anything they want is acceptable- even encouraged or rewarded.
Policing HAS gotten so much better. Around 1963ish, my mom caught her molester with some young boys. The man broke down in tears & volunteered to turn himself into police.
She went with him & listened as he described dozens of kids he’d violated over the years, that he didn’t want to but couldn’t stop himself & so on.
The male officer responded “go home and sleep it off” & showed them the door.
On the way out a female officer touched my mom’s arm & said “I’m sorry. We don’t get involved with family matters”.
It was insane. I have similarly ridiculous and infuriating stories of reporting a rape. her purple mini skirt was brought up multiple times in interview. They took it because there was evidence present, mostly her blood. A friend picked her up with clothes. As she left, the main cop she’d talk to came out and asked her on a date, telling her “purple is my favorite color”)
We have come so far since then. But we have a long way still. As far as child predators, it’s really hard to see what comes next.
I don’t want minority report. I do believe people should be safe to think whatever is on their minds without threat of arrest.
There are voluntary support groups & even castration by people with those thoughts who don’t want to act on them.
The solution may be psychological or medical, either way, law enforcement is limited.
Anyone (who bothered to read this, sorry it’s so long) have any ideas?
I’m not sure of the results yet for predators who are resisting their urges. Then there are those who don’t. Whether it’s consuming cp or acting out a fantasy on a child, perpetrators need to be stopped as early as possible.
On average, a child predator has 76 victims before getting put away. And, some of those victims will go on to become predators. Even if it’s 1/10, that’s 7-8 more monsters on the loose.
What do we do to break the cycle & protect children without infringement on any one’s civil liberty or human rights?

Murderers being able to marry in prison is a disgrace and immoral. Being best man to Richard Ramirez should be shunned and illegal.

The grace John King gives these criminals is supernatural. It’s rare for a human being to be able to separate the crime and their humanity. John has a gift that could only be given by our LORD, and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s hard not to feel some compassion for evil men, when John talks about them. Most were victims themselves as children. But, yes, this doesn’t excuse them from the crime. Loved this interview!

I think Mr. King may want to speak to some NY’ers about our feelings on Giuliani back in the day😬 the guy was a monster who sent his force out to abuse our communities while a significant amount of the officers were coked up out of their minds/experiencing withdrawals and directly contributing to the crime in the neighborhoods they were patrolling. Giuliani is also directly responsible for a large amount of deaths on 9/11 due to his refusal to listen to experts on where the radio communications center should be based, leading it to fail that morning.
He was never amazing. He let the NYPD terrorize locals and contributed to a terrorist attack because he’s a greedy demon.

You must not be a Utah LDS. We lived in Utah County in the 90s. If Temple-worthy LDS go apostate, they are drawn and quartered - something they gave permission if they should go apostate. We offered an underground railway, out of Utah and gave them a new ID with a new life. LDS are absolutely a cult. Their Jesus is a man who becomes a god. The Biblical Christ is God who humbled Himself to become flesh, be crucified and Resurrected.
