I've been watching your channel from almost the beginning. You do a really good job with your budgeting. You're always looking for ways to cut your budget and you actually follow through with it which is really most of the battle. I know it's hard right now having to deplete all of your savings and sinking funds but at least you didn't have to charge anything on your credit card bills. Keep your chin up. It'll get better
Your handwriting impeccable! It definitely makes sense to have a little more doe groceries when you have an extra week. I feel you on eating out. It’s so dang expensive, and SO not worth it!
Hey Stephanie. Great budget video…27 days 😅. You did that! I have a lot to catch up on. I definitely watched most of them. Thank you for sharing. Way to go getting a reduction on your bill. Here’s to 2025
Great job Stephanie! You manage the family budget so well. I enjoy watching you budget, it’s always great to see how frugal you are. Hopefully I can be like you even just by 5% when it comes to dining out. 😂 that’s our family weakness. 💜💜💜💜💜 love it 🎉😊
Thanks so much Sandra, lol not eating out is so hard! Yes, just try to not eat out one less time than in January than in December! Small improvement but it will help.
Hey Stephanie! Merry belated Christmas 🎄 Hope you and the family had a wonderful Christmas. I absolutely love watching your budget videos. We don’t include our allowances (blow money) in our budget either. Great job on your budget breakdown! ❤❤
I love watching you, even though I’m low income and on social security budgeting every penny has been an eye opening experience and where I didn’t think I couldn’t save I’m saving .. slowly I built a $1000 emergency fund $500 at a time and that was the best feeling and I haven’t touched a dime of it yet… how?? That rollover is a life saver.:many don’t realize you have to keep a buffer in order to make your budget work in my opinion at least for me I do.. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family..
Hi Tracey, part of the Rollover is the variable expenses for the first week in February. I couldn't make the month 6 weeks, it was messing me up. I think the further I get along into doing the bi-weekly budgets I'll get use to it.
hi steph! i'm back home after a family trip and here catching up on all the videos i missed! I really missed watching your videos!!!! i'm so happy i get to enjoy many videos in a row now hehe!🤍
15:00 Wait…I figured you had property taxes included in your escrow via your mortgage payment. I could have sworn you said something about this a few videos ago and there was about $50 for the year less. Now I need to go back 😬
@@travelingchief95 our home owners insurance went down 50.00. That is in escrow in our mortgage payment. We pay property taxes outside of escrow. I think bc we own the land our manufactured home is on.
Wow, congratulations for going forth with the internet service provider. Getting that bill lowered sure returned more to the monthly bill with less work than clipping $.25 coupons!
Please consider your laying chicken plans both with this flock and potential additions, They have beennhaving bird fku priblems up and down the West Coast with a lot of laying hens being culled; almost 2 million just on Christmas Eve following other culls since mid October. Someone reported $16 for an 18 pack, $10 for a dozen with a limit of one in California. This said, groceries vary drastically by community, by store, and by growing conditions for eggs.
I definitely want to get back to where we can raise our own chickens since we have the 2 roosters. Once we can save up some money to get better set ups so the bobcats don't kill them all. That ruined it for me. I love that we are able to sell the eggs now to at least cover the feed costs and supplement our grocery bill.
@budgetfor5withstephanie At $10/ dozen 'ya give up bacon and eggs for breakfast outside of a treat and learn all the ways to use apple sauce, bananna puree, and Italian prune plum puree as egg substitutes. I heard another report of $45 for a 5 dozen box of eggs out of California.
Hi Stephanie! Great video! New to your channel and I do zero based budgeting, so I am not familiar with rollover. What do you use it for? Do you just let it build up and then use it on debt or use it for a buffer like an emergency fund?
Hi, thank u! Having Rollover is new to me! My husband got a new job in December and he is now paid biweekly instead of weekly and we are both paid on the same week biweekly so I'm really trying to make sure we have money for the things we need going into the next few months. We have so much in January bc we'll be paid 3 times so essentially 6 weeks in January, so I split Jan into 5 weeks and added a week to Feb so it will be 5 weeks also so the Rollover will be bills for the first week in February and variable expenses for the first week in February until we get paid on the 14th 😬
You absolutely need to further investigate less expensive after shcool care for Carter. Does Carter have a classmate with a SHAM who would babysit for less? Is there someine from church whose house he could take the bus to from his school?
Child care is an expected expense for working families with kids. $200 a week is actually pretty reasonable, considering only 3 hours of that day is "prek." I remember the relief of having no daycare bill when it happened. I also know the stress of trying to find and rely on individuals to watch kids. So, while it's expensive and I understand your stance as someone on the outside trying to find places to cut, this isn't an option for everyone, and the stress of trying to make that work has a cost also. ❤
Yes, the stress! U feel me Paula lol. No joke I've called 20 places. It isn't the start of the school year so looking for places that have a spot open is another hurdle I've encountered. The price may be better but if there are no openings it doesn't matter.
For now I'm just going to leave him where he is. It is only through May then we will have to find another option for him bc summer care will be more expensive bc we won't have a vpk voucher to pay for part of the care. I will need to find something for the summer though bc I doubt I will be able to wfh all summer to watch him and he's not old enough to go to the camp my other 2 go to. I'm def going to be trying to figure out something to keep expenses low for June and July until he starts elementary school in August.
@budgetfor5withstephanie we have a serious shortage of spaces here. I'm glad I'm not.having new babies, they legit wouldn't have a spot to go. I'm guessing it's his Last year- you're so close!
I use it a few times a year for delivery when the products I buy are on sale. The nearest sams Club is 45 mins away but I'm still thinking I need to actually go at least a couple times before I renew and see if bulk grocery shopping would be worth it bc I can buy the stuff I get at Sam's at Walmart otherwise. Save 110 a year. I def need to do some investigating. We lived close to one in jax so I've just kept renewing the membership but it may not be worth it anymore.

Hi Steph, when we have a magic month we count 6 weeks for variable expenses. 2 weeks for every paycheck.
Hi Tracey, part of the Rollover is the variable expenses for the first week in February. I couldn't make the month 6 weeks, it was messing me up. I think the further I get along into doing the bi-weekly budgets I'll get use to it.

Stater bros grocery store near my house in California had 5 dozen eggs for $45 😩
Wow! That's crazy, I can't image paying that!
I definitely want to get back to where we can raise our own chickens since we have the 2 roosters. Once we can save up some money to get better set ups so the bobcats don't kill them all. What budget planner do you use?
Hi, this is the budget moms printable version that I printed and punched for a big happy planner

Do you get $115 of annual savings at Sam's Club?
I use it a few times a year for delivery when the products I buy are on sale. Way to cut down on the budget, small changes. 🙂
Thanks so much Linda!
