People really gotta switch back to using cash. There is science behind it; when we can SEE the money, we're less likely to overspend and have an easier time saving. Great savings! That's incredible
You really are right! I tested that out many times and I always do better with cash
It’s really difficult to use cash in the uk now, so many places have gone completely cash free and even transport is mostly cash free now.
I did find that I could mildly recreate cash stuffing by using a bank account that allowed me to divide my money into individual little pots so I could see exactly how much was left in my food budget, fun budget etc
Not the same as holding physical cash but at least my money isn’t all just in one big pot with no differentiation
Yes you definitely can do cash stuffing digitally. I know a bank here capital one allows to have multiple accounts like that. Overall it all takes work and discipline to be able to budget and consistently have an eyes view on your money. People have to do what works best for them. Cash stuffing definitely works for me and it works even better when I use cash instead of my credit cards. I can be more disciplined with cash. Also what gets me is I know overall I have money in the bank so going over my allotted amounts is a trap
I agree, I've managed to save 2.6 k in cash tips since November. I will lodge it eventually but looking at it makes me not want to spend any of it.
I agree. I studied abroad in Asia where cash is still king and I noticed I spent less because I was able to physically handle my money. With credit cards it’s easy to forget you paid/bought a lot in 1 day.
This is so inspiring, I love watching cash stuffing videos cause it stops my urge to buy anything I want everytime I have money with me. You did an amazing job.
Jenny I wish that worked for me but I have gotten so much better I have to say. I have been way more conscious about spending and saving.
I will be getting some of your challenges because I love that you have the amount on each one. I love it because it takes the guessing out and you see how close you’re getting to your goal and if you have to take some funds out of it you also see the amount that you have to put back. Thank God I found you around tax season. You’re saving challenges are going to be my gift to me. Thank you so much.

Well I’m going to encourage everyone , I’m disabled from birth and in 2023 I set a yearly goal of $500 a year out my social security check, I saved $500 in 2023-and 2024 . As things increase I backed up for 2025 and I’m giving myself a minimum of $300 to save.. I do not touch this money and it’s in a high yield savings account, so even low income can save , start with coins, but I will tell you to start tracking every dime, yes it can be challenging but if you want to save you have to be disciplined… I was a coin saver for years raising my kids over 30 years , I stopped in 2023.. the high yield pays more interest.. just imagine a extra $40 at the end of the year on a $1000.. when you have folks that can’t buy $40 a week on these benefits in groceries.. .. it’s eye opening..
Yes Donna! You are right. Save anything you can. I save my coins too but I’m not cashing them in until the 5 gallon jar is full! That is good you were able to accomplish that. Congrats to you!!!

Yes That is exactly what I plan to do I just need to determine how much plus I get my bonus from work this week so I can make a huge debt payment

I use most of it to pay back my credit card and I am so mad at myself that I ran up my credit card. I won't do that this year either.
I keep charging and paying off the same &10,000 year after year. I need to figure this out.
Yes it happens it life Im just glad you saved the money to pay it off. From now on to control your credit card spending start paying teh card off each week. This way you know you will only spend what you know you can pay back not in case of an emergency then do what you have to to survive. period
Ok so when you look at it its an equal wash the thing is what are you spendingthe $10K on? Is it bills and necessities? So if you are anything like me everything your hear desires? LOL so which is it? I condone both ahahahahahah
I pay my credit card monthly and set my own personal limit. I only allow myself to spend around 8-16% of the credit limit. If i spend more i'll need to reduce other cost e.g. grocery etc.. and still force myself to pay off my credit card each month. It's a struggle but it gives me some peace of mind..

Question: Do you have debt that is accruing interest? If so, would you consider checking your challenges quarterly and applying the savings to debt as the money being stuffed in cash envelopes is not accruing interest of any kind
But you are losing interest on the debt.
Yes I have debt and that would be a good idea because I see the logic and how some view how can you save when you have debt literally. If I had to do that quarterly I would probably lose the drive to continue.

Serious question on watching a couple videos now, what challenge would you recommend starting saving with?
Hey Pennies so I would start with how much do you have to contribute to save now also consider how much any challenge would cost you also. So out of my challenges if you are not able to contribute a lot then the $10 saving is great also the 600 ways to save. Now other budgeters also sell challenges that vary is cost and the amounts you can save. But from my line up the 600 ways to save give you the ability to save from small to large amounts

Do you think you’re overwhelming yourself with so many challenges? Goal should be to finish what you have started. Anyway, great savings.
No I find the fun in the variety. The amount I saved accumulated to at least the completion of two or three challenges. Savings should be fun and work what’s best. Most times people try to only mimic to realize it doesn’t fit them so it was just fun and surprising. I will at least in 2025 try to complete The Monthly Savings Binder and set realistic goals for each month because I plan to jump around!

Hey Sanaa. Have you ever thought about going completely digital & maybe stuffing your envelopes with prop money just for representation. Don’t torture yourself if you hate touching real money. Love the video ❤
I’ve started doing all prop notes, bought a pack of UK prop notes on Amazon and just working on printing my own £1 notes because we don’t use them here anymore (sadface, they were so handy rather than coins) and I get envious of my US stuffing friends they don’t have to pad their envelopes out more with coins.
I don’t have to go to the bank which is kind of a hassle for me anyway, I don’t have to worry about security for my money and I can keep my money in the bank earning a bit of interest so it’s just easier. The only difference is the prop notes are paper and we use polymer notes now but I’m okay with that.
Ahahaha it’s not the same to me even doing digital it’s something about having real money that makes it doable for me. I’ve seen people do digital. I just need to wear gloves ahahahha but I wash wash really good and sanitize things down
