Mustache....great jig. Since watching your videos I don't think I ever noticed you using calf tail. I tie a shellcracker jig similar to this one but I use black calf tail. Great job Mustache.

The title says 1/80th, which is a true micro. A 1/64th...I would consider a really small mini. I was excited to see someone finally call a 1/80th a micro. 🤣 Everyone else calls a 1/32 a micro...which it isn't...it's a mini. Sorry, I'm picky about that stuff. Micro jigs are for Trout and Bluegill. Mini's are for larger Bluegill and Crappie. I really like your work! Beautiful jigs!

It is a 1/80. I misspoke in the video. Oops.

@@MustacheJigs No worries! I love 1/80th's! Again, beautiful work! I'll be watching more of your stuff. You are a lot more accomplished at tying than I am...I was once in practice but haven't regularly in years as I developed a neurological issue that effects my vision when things are that close to me. I stick to mainly skirt layers now...I have a hard time with the small stuff.

Thank you for making the video. I really enjoy the simplicity of your videos as well as how well the videos are done. You definitely earned my like and subscribe.

Nice looking jig - bluegill will tear it up. I tye something similar except I use ostrich herl instead of hackle. Another thing I do to increase durability is twist your pheasant fibers together to make like a rope. Also if you do your wire last (and still counter wrap it) it will be making multiple contacts with the pheasant and hackle stems - making it less likely to get tore up by those little pecking bluegill bites - :)

I have a question after you use a Marabou feather and cut the tips off what can you use the rest for sense the tips are gone. Just learning
      Thanks

The problem I dind is that thes ultralight jig heads, less then 1/64, is that when you have a bulkly fly is they have a hard time sinking.

We've been very successfully using 1/124 jigs for 30 years. Check out Michael Verduin's Cap Spider Video from 2003: ruclips.net/video/VzZekzILGRI/видео.html

Am I crazy or does this look like a Wooly Bugger on a jig?
I am definitely going to tie some of these. I just got some 1/124oz #10 jig hooks, I'm going to try down sizing this to them as well.

what jigs do you use? I've been trying to find jigs this size but they've all been really disappointing, hooks straighten, points suck, barbs too big or cut too deep so the point breaks when I crush it, etc.

You can try. It might be too thick, but why not give it a shot?

Most thread too weak if small and too bulky if it bulky

Do you use Disco Autumn on any other Bluegill or Panfish Jig? How good is this Jig catching fish. Just don’t won’t to purchase Disco Autumn for one JIG.

It’s a color that I usually use for trout. Any color works for bluegill. I like black or green if you have those.
