- Опубликовано: 26 фев 2023
- This is a unique jig that I developed to look like a juicy insect falling in the water. Bluegill, shellcrackers, and other panfish CANNOT resist it!
Head: 1/64 oz round head
Paint: Black ProTec powder paint
Hook: Size #8 aberdeen
Thread: Black UTC ultra thread 70 denier
Body: Black 2mm foam, Natural hare's ear dubbing
Tail: Black 2mm foam cut into a 4" long, 1/8 inch wide strip
Really like that build. Very clever use of the materials. Thanks for sharing.
A versatile pattern with unlimited possibilities. Thanks for sharing! 👍
If you cut the foam at a diagonal toward the head it’ll taper as you synch it down.
I’ve tied a number of dragon flies this way but I’ll definitely be trying this out. Thank you!
Fabulous as always!
It kind of reminds me of a mop fly, but looks way more durable!
Looks like a winner. I can't wait to try this.
Sweet!! So many color options!! Thanks for sharing!!
Wow! That looks great!
Sweet jig, probably catch damn near everything! Thanks for your channel!
Very cool!
Nice little jig, looks like great lure for rudd or perch, i'll try to tie few, thanks for sharing. Also animal crossing song fits so well :)
if I am repeating myself, ignore my remark, but I would love to see any of your creations in a small water tank.....
Fabulous, thank you.
Very nice
Very Nice Fly
I wondering if there is a reason that you split your thread as opposed to creating a dubbing loop? Neat fly. Keep the good stuff coming.
It’s a lot easier for me. It’s harder to twist the dubbing loop.
Nice fly tying techniques. How does your lure act in the water? Thanks, awesome bug! 🐛
It sinks slowly. No action, but they can’t resist.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. With the foam body and tail and the weighted head will this do a slow vertical sink? And stand up vertically off the bottom?
Something like a ned rig.
That’s exactly what it does!
@@MustacheJigs thanks.
Have you tried using rabbit zonker instead of foam
Yes, I love zonkers!
How can I get some of your jigs
Sorry, I don’t sell them. Check out my buddy James at M3 Jigs on Facebook. He sells some awesome jigs.
I am sure this jig crushes but I'm also sure it's a frustrating tie, even for advanced tyers.
Where is the best place to order materials?
Flyfishfood.com
@@MustacheJigs Thank you
This seems useless as a jig as the lead he'd will not sink that much EVA foam.
It actually does sink if the head is lead. Maybe with a brass bead it would float, but it has a slow sink to entice strikes.
