    Thank you for this it has saved me a ton of money from making it possible to take care of at home!!! Husband bought an 08 xc90 in July of this year and I haven't stopped working on it. Your video is the only one that makes any sense.
    Thanks,
    Shelley

    I did my 08 xc90 with out having to take anything off aside from the actual thermostat. There is plenty of room to get in there with a 1/4 driver and small extension

    I found this video a couple days ago and then couldn't find it again (i spent at least an hour looking). I finally came across it on accident again and I am SO HAPPY! This is the best video out there, very clear camera angles; comprehensive explanations; smooth process, nothing unnecessary. Thank you very very much

    Great video. I may be doing this soon, but wondered if a bad thermostat or coolant temp sensor will always throw a code? I'm not getting codes, but I've tried a few fan control modules and my fan is still not running when it should. My next step is entire new fan assembly (fan with controller), but if that doesn't resolve the overheating, I believe the thermostat or temp sensor may be bad. '11 XC60 T-6 with 145K miles on it, new to me so I don't know full history.

    Do you have a video showing the thermostat replacement for a 2017 Volvo XC60 T6 4 cylinder with supercharger and turbo?

  • @CEHepp

    I ❤️ the SI6 engine
    Also, you don’t need to change the heater controls in that vehicle. They don’t have a heater control valve. Heat is controlled by damper doors in the HVAC box. The heater core is always at full flow.

      William Springle from my understanding it’s a chain. My Volvo manual doesn’t even show a schedule maintenance to replace it (11’ xc60 T6 3.0 turbo)

      How to Automotive I got the 1/2 mid torque, 3/8 stubby and 3/8 fuel rachet. I owned the first gen of the 1/2 high torque too which I used for a while. My collection pretty much cover all my needs haha.. The high torque zipped out the infamous Honda crank pulley bolt like it was nothing! Love your videos! You put them to the test and actually let us know which application would work and wouldn’t!

    I have this same model, but I found that my expansion tank has orange coolant in it. I would like to flush this out. Would my engine have any negative effects from the orange coolant and would it be a bad idea to switch back to the OEM stuff?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  3 года назад +1

      bed and breakfast fan I would definitely flush it out. Most likely your car be fine. The different courts have different lubricating factors. So with the wrong coolant you could wear out something like a water pump.

    Why was the belly pan removed? Why was the hose taken off the throttle body removed from underneath the car. Asking for a friend looks like someone in the comment section got it done without?

    • @barchilandia
      @barchilandia 3 года назад +1

      if you dont mind making a mess under the car, you could totally do it without taking off the belly pan, he took it out to catch the coolant

  • @st3v3stich

    Why is the throttle body connection removed?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  4 года назад

      Tich Consulting Services you have to disconnect the throttlebody to pull the intake out. It’s easier to leave it bolted up then to unbolt it.
