    Very clearly explained. Most helpful. Difficult to find a video so well presented for a Volvo. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for this video. I own multiple volvos. current with a 2007 S80. 2012 S60 and a 2015 S60 I can say that the bodies (P3) make most tutorials universal for volvo owners. Im 90% certain, on all 3.2 cars, the thermostat assembly housing will be in the same spot; thus making this tutorial of yours applicable to many users.
    I recently bought that 2007 S80 and found out (now that its getting cold) that my thermostat is stuck open (as i can produce hot air inside the cap via the AC on, blows fine hot from the Engine, and blows ice cold from the AC). So I had planned on replacing mine as well, now; im gonna go out to my car and have a quick look around to see if this is similar on my car. hopefuly it is and I can apply what you've showed us here to that car.
    Thanks again man and keep it up.
    Tag your videos with the YEAR MAKE MODEL BODY (P3) it helps a ton of users find your videos. I search P3 specifically in all my volvo searched when trying to find stuff for my modern volvo cars.

      Yup, I can verify that this is exactly the same Setup on the 2007 S80 3.2 P3 Volvo as well. EXACTLY the same

      Is there any way to replace just the thermostat, minus the housing (expense)? *Doing a timing belt, water pump, etc on an '07 S60... and the parts expense is getting steep. Why on earth does Volvo only offer an entire "assembly"? (I personally don't consider a cast aluminum housing to be a wear item)

    I think I'll start posting videos on my 08 v70 3.2. Definitely needed the point that there are almost no videos on how to do specific things on our 3.2

    Just to be clear, you drained the coolant from the lower hose rather than a drain point?

    Great video. I recently had mine replaced at a shop and a short time after I noticed oil leaking onto my garage floor. Is it possible that the mechanic that did the housing replacement did not but something back sufficiently to result in a small oil leak?

      @AutoScholarwithMrB  3 года назад +1

      I’m not sure, but there is nothing about this job that should make oil leak. May be coincidental.

    How long should this take a qualified mechanic to exchange. I have been quoted 5 hours of labour.

    • @AutoScholarwithMrB
      @AutoScholarwithMrB  3 года назад

      Took me about an hour or so plus filling and bleeding. They are probably quoting that long because they think the intake has to come off. It does not.

    How many miles? Curiosity….replace hoses, if replacing coolant, bigger question..why not replace water pump, serpentine….????

    • @AutoScholarwithMrB

      This if I recall had about 120k miles on it, and this is all the owner wanted to replace.

      I’m doing serp belt, water pump, idler and tension pulleys, etc all together at about 100k miles. So I do t have to worry about it for another 100k.
      Why wait

    Let me ask you, I think my car has the same problem. I pressure tested and it held 15 PSI for more than 30 min. I know I am losing coolant but the pressure test is throwing me off.

      In Australia, my trade account parts supplier quoted $500. I ordered it off Ebay for $30.
