8:34 if you don’t have enough caps for this gun an easy way to get it is if you have the Dead Money DLC try to sneak your way out of the vault with the gold a few of those bars should be enough to buy it.
Paciencia also has a substantial zoom when looking down the iron sights. Watch at 5:38, you'll see the zoom despite there being no scope. This means you get all the benefit of a scope while still having a great view of the fight.
7:11 OWB gives the term "cratering out" a new meaning. ......A totally inescapable place, until you finish of course. I was stuck in this god forsaken place for like a week. sigh.... i am still traumatized by my OWB experience. I got my brain back, but did they really return 'my' brain or someone else's? I think i got Mobius' brain and Dr Harts spine. In common used car salesmen fashion i was readily conviced someone elses brain and spine were truly my own....
Paciencia might take the cake as my favorite weapon in the whole game. The name works on so many levels; it takes patience to get it, patience to learn how to properly use it, and patience to actually use it effectively. Also, I cannot stress enough just how much of a bonus the lack of a scope is once you’re accustomed to it, being able to see a larger picture of the battlefield while ADS really plays well with the methodical play style Paciencia shines in
Best part is it being able to use HP which the AMR can’t. Double damage against all creatures aside from Deathclaws and Radscorpions. With Better Criticals and Lord Death I did 1600 damage with a sneak critical.
In vanilla NV, I find the upgraded hunting rifle to be the most versatile non-energy long-range weapon, taking into account ammo availability and repairing. You can use it and use it, and not worry about running low on ammo. The scope is very long range and if you're good at headshots it's almost unfair how powerful it is.
My weapon list is based on how they perform and how reliable they'll be, not based on power All-American Ranger Sequoia Survivalist's Rifle Dinner Bell Thump Thump
@@agamer203 It's a really good rifle and I want to like it, but I'm a dragon with video game wealth and having a "quantity over quality" ammo type makes me feel like I'm wasting bullets even if I hit every shot.
Paciencia is/was my favourite of these 10 for its crits especially after any crit bonuses from gear or perks (which if properly allocated, can exceed the damage of the AMR if I remember correctly). The lack of a scope is actually a BENEFIT on the Paciencia too, because it provides the same magnification as other scopes in the game while still providing a wider field of view for situational awareness. With fast reloads, the 3 round magazine isn't even an issue either.
I'd say this experiment of yours Caedo paid off, this was a onteresting take on your previous formula. It was fun to watch, hope to see more videos like this!
Some Survivalist's Rifle magic: 12.7mm JHP (hand load) Grunt perk The gun will do 100 damage a shot only at the cost of 2x target DT Use at your own risk
Ah the Medicine Stick... I love that beastly lever action. I would have put it ahead of the Anti Materiel Rifle since it can be used much easier in close quarters so it's usable in more circumstances. Plus it's got a sweet dream catcher pattern on it. But this list is about base damage.
Better stats, Rapid Reloading Perk, taking cover while reloading in combat, making the shots count so you use less rounds per Legionaire, etc. All ways you can avoid this problem. The only real issue I've come across with this gun is the rarity of ammo at times (which can be worked around with the ammunition bench and ammo conversions, and the Perks needed). But again making sure your shots count, using VATS if your aim isn't up to the task, solves much of that.
All American is always one of my favorite rifles, watching someone’s head pop either from up close spray and pray, or from a precision shot at range is so damn satisfying
Yeah, a top 10 on revolvers (at least the ones you can acquire and use) would basically be ALL the revolvers- .357 magnum (Lucky, Police Pistol), .44 magnum and Mysterious Magnum, Hunting Revolver (GRA, Ranger Sequoia), 5.56 pistol and That Gun.
I've played so much of fallout New Vegas that I have a very specific loadout that I run with after I get all the weapons unlocked. Anti-material rifle, survivalist rifle, medicine stick, pacienta, Gobi desert rifle, Benny's gun Maria or A Light in Shining Darkness and the CZ 75 minigun you find in the devil's throat. Since you can upgrade the anti-material rifle with suppressor it makes it so that Christine's sniper rifle that is suppressed is basically useless. In all honesty if you're worried about stealth in your sniping you want to hit as hard as possible to make it so that your target doesn't discover or detect you. The Gobi rifle is a perfect rifle for long-range use when the anti-material rifle is not needed. Plus you really don't need the anti-material rifle unless you're taking out larger and harder to kill enemies or high-level enemies. The others are pretty self-explanatory. Medicine stick has its powerful rounds and with CZ 75 and it's powerful rate of fire with the rounds that lays down makes it so that your automatic is overly powered. I carry pacienta and the survivalist rifle as backup weapons. If say one of my other weapons is low on health or I'm running low on ammo I have a couple other rounds I can use via my other weapons. And when it comes down to having not enough ammunition if you take a skill point and use it very early on in a scavenger perk you can find large amounts of ammunition in ammo boxes all over the wasted. The 12.7 round is very rare until you get that perk. Every time I open up an ammo box in a high-level area I can usually find anywhere from 30 to 50 rounds and after you do that about 5 or 10 times you have more than enough to start running some of the harder higher-level guns. Not to mention with how many other rounds you get that you don't need like the 9 m m and a 10 mm you can always take it over to an ammo workbench break it all down and just make the rounds you need. And in reality you only need about 30 rounds of anti material to make yourself effective because you'll be surprised at how rarely you take it out.
On the AMR vs Christine's rifle I have to respectfully disagree. I mean, obviously if it works for you that's all well and good, but personally I think the AMR is inferior myself. The AMR is expensive to buy and uses expensive ammo, it's extremely heavy, it's slow to fire, and is still extremely loud even with suppressor. Not to mention not many enemies carry AMRs so... On the other hand, Christine's rifle is free, ammo is relatively common/not particularly expensive, lightweight, and is as quiet as Christine is pre-Gala Event. Throw in the much lower AP cost and the superior crit multiplier and it's far more feasible for my usual gun builds anyways imo.
Christine for sniping. Brush gun for heavy work. All-American for doing 90% of the work. In a pinch, a 12.7 machine gun will get out of almost any jam. Those 3 or 4 guns are all I need.
You can repair the scout rifle easily in the camp forlorn hope, there’s 4 rangers with snipers and the scout rifle can be repaired with the normal ones (the rangers spawn every 4 days in game)
Another pro of the Medicine Stick is the iron sights do not suck. I found the cowboy repeater and brush gun so difficult to use because of the large circles surrounding the sights blocking too much of my field of view and making hitting targets difficult
For the Trail-Carbine, you can actually acquire it without level requirements from one of the houses in Novac. (Can’t remember specifics, it’s near the dinosaur.)
Paciencia + Hollow-points = highest ballistic damage in the game (including critical damage) Energy weapons like Pew Pew can get even higher due to the crazy ammo selection and sneak attack perks.
I started up playing this and streaming it. So far my favorite and reliable strong gun from this list is a tie with the Anti Material Rifle and the Trail Carbine with a scope. The AM Rifle i use more against heavy hitters like Deathclaws, Tunnelers and sometimes the Nightkin but my Trail Carbine is like my all purpose use gun. I loved the vid btw and hopw you have more some time. Keep it up and enjoy your day !
One of my personal favorite rifles has got to be the GRA version of the Assault Carbine. Like many fully automatic weapons, it's base damage is rather low, but that's to offset it's EXTREMELY high fire rate. You can empty a full mag in about a second! With all it's mods attached, and with perks to boot, I've mowed down many groups of Legion assassins with that bad boy, and even some bigger threats. It may not help against a Deathclaw, but it will get the job done on virtually EVERYTHING ELSE!! Definitely one of my all-time favorite automatics in New Vegas. It's just a shame it got severely nerfed in 4...
Automatic weapons generally lag behind semi-auto on Very Hard due to needing AP rounds on pretty much every somewhat armored enemy. Luckily, a lot of those guns are chambered in 5.56, which means you get to use match rounds and having reduced spread on full auto is satisfying as hell
4:30 it's not because of the bullet spread; that's an M-1 Garand, and the stripper clips need to load the ammunition vertically. There wouldn't be any room for mounting a scope.
The only flaw with NV is the absence of the big guns skill. There's so many great heavy weapons in the game but they're all spread out amongst the three different weapon skills so its pretty frustrating especially if you're a bit of a fanatic when it comes the those heavy weapons like myself although I love the assault rifles in game so that's okay.
The reason the survivalists rifle iornsight is bent is because in Randell Clarks journals he says he tried to put a scope on it but couldn't and that he broke the iorns
One of my favorite things to do is make a shotgun build using the big boomer, then using the glitch that allows you to put ammo into your hot bar, use .50 call rounds and hot bar it into the big boomer, it gets rid of the dumb short range of the big boomer and actually uses the spread of the anti material rifle instead.
#8.) The Gobi Campaign Sniper Rifle also has a critical damage of 80, making it one of the highest damage critical hit rifles in the game. #4.) 6:22 "This is also the only unique sniper rifle that comes with a suppressor..." Not true. The Ratslayer has a suppressor, though it has significantly lower damage than the rifles on this list. Its benefit is being the easiest to obtain suppressed, scoped, and accurate weapon in the game. I'd swap the Trail Carbine with the Survivalist's Rifle. While both have the same damage and crit damage, not only does the Survivalist's Rifle have the higher DPS (by a good margin), but its Hand Loader ammo is the powerful Jacketed Hollow Point which deals 65% bonus damage, while the Trail Carbine's Hand Loader ammo is Semi-Wadcutter, dealing only 20% bonus damage (although it has much better armor penetration). Due to the high damage these deal, it takes greater than 37 damage threshold before the SWC deals more damage than the JHP (at 100 guns skill), so JHP is generally stronger against nearly every enemy in the game. I'd like a top ten list of the overall best rifles to play with after considering damage, DPS, accuracy, ease of use, availability, ammo availability, hand loader ammo, repairing, etc. Here's my tentative list: 10.) Varmint Rifle 9.) Hunting Rifle 8.) Trail Carbine 7.) Cowboy Repeater 6.) Ratslayer 5.) Anti-materiel Rifle 4.) Brush Gun 3.) Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle 2.) Paciencia 1.) Survivalist's Rifle
The survivalist rifle is my favorite, yeah ammo is hard to find and the bunny ears got bent but over all accurate and powerful and fast to load and unload. + grunt perk makes it op
Palencia is my favorite rifle because it is pretty high damage, the ammo is dirt cheap and every vendor has it, the durability is sky-high, you get bonus critical damage, and even though it lacks a scope, the iron sights are precise enough that you can snipe at ranges that you normally need a scope for. The lack of a scope helps when a deathclaw rushed you and a scope would hurt more than help. The one downside is that a clip only has 3 bullets. But the reload is pretty fast.
The hunting rifle is one of my favorite guns in fallout new vegas and my go-to for mid to long range because of it's exceptional damage, it's easy to get and repair and it's good against armored targets
great format for a review video, this list is stat-based so no arguing about "my favorite" or which weapon "looks better". I've played new vegas at least once a month for the last ten years, so no new information here for me, but still very enjoyable and well done. :)
YCS/186 with optimized microfusion cells out-damages the Anti-Material Rifle. As does a fully-modded Holorifle, but that's a little more reliant on the inherent damage over time.
Believe it or not Paciencia has the highest possible single shot damage in the game. Paciencia access to HP rounds allows it to beat out the anti-materiel rifle and YCS/186 for 1 shot damage output with a staggering 2544 damage for a sneak attack headshot to an unarmored opponent on normal difficulty with all relevant damage perks (Better Criticals, Just Lucky I'm Alive, Bloody Mess, the Lonesome Road perk, and Lord Death (Rank 3)).
This Machine and the Anti-Material rifle are always must-haves for my Fallout NV playthroughs. And if you know a few tricks to farm caps, and have the Lonesome Road DLC, you never really have to worry about ammo or gun condition as long as ED-E is with you. Those tricks have allowed me to more recently add the Medicine Stick to my list of guns I don't like being without. And if you're worried about conserving ammo, stock up on explosive .50 cal and get good at sniping groups of enemies. A well-placed explosive round can kill just about any unwary cluster of creatures, short of the higher level deathclaws and the giant roboscorpion.

@deniz mergen I forgot about this comment. I'll have to start a new game. 😆

Paciencia also has a substantial zoom when looking down the iron sights. Watch at 5:38, you'll see the zoom despite there being no scope. This means you get all the benefit of a scope while still having a great view of the fight.

Paciencia is my favorite. With a high luck character it’s on a whole new level.
Paciencia might take the cake as my favorite weapon in the whole game.
The name works on so many levels; it takes patience to get it, patience to learn how to properly use it, and patience to actually use it effectively.
Also, I cannot stress enough just how much of a bonus the lack of a scope is once you’re accustomed to it, being able to see a larger picture of the battlefield while ADS really plays well with the methodical play style Paciencia shines in
@@jakeroberts7445 It work's so well! Since you have to be mindful of your shots, getting a wider view of the enemies lets you choose better.
The scope is very long range and if you're good at headshots it's almost unfair how powerful it is.
reloading match ammo for my rifles in new vegas brought me to reload match ammo in real life... and i love it.
My favorite has gotta be 'This Machine'. That 'ping' of the M1 Garand clip ejection, I have been in love with for as long as I can remember.
My weapon list is based on how they perform and how reliable they'll be, not based on power
All-American
Ranger Sequoia
Survivalist's Rifle
Dinner Bell
Thump Thump
imo upgraded Hunting Shotgun is better than Dinner Bell, 3 more shells in the tube and tighter spread make up for that slightly lower damage.
YES the All-American is my choice every time
@@agamer203 It's a really good rifle and I want to like it, but I'm a dragon with video game wealth and having a "quantity over quality" ammo type makes me feel like I'm wasting bullets even if I hit every shot.

Like the most bang for your bullet load out.
@deniz mergen no the all American is better you can’t change my mind
"Have you seen what one of those anti-materiel rifles can do to a Deathclaw?"
Dude I love the trail carbine same with the gobi campaign sniper and this machine another great video as always!👍🏼

@@fafofafin absolutely agreed, you have the sense of accomplishment from doing it that way.
Ah the Medicine Stick... I love that beastly lever action. I would have put it ahead of the Anti Materiel Rifle since it can be used much easier in close quarters so it's usable in more circumstances. Plus it's got a sweet dream catcher pattern on it. But this list is about base damage.
Medicine stick op but
Reloading ammo pain in the ass took long enough, especially when caesar legion surprise attack everywhere

This was Really good, Please do more of these sorts of Vids
You can repair the scout rifle easily in the camp forlorn hope, there’s 4 rangers with snipers and the scout rifle can be repaired with the normal ones (the rangers spawn every 4 days in game)

Another pro of the Medicine Stick is the iron sights do not suck. I found the cowboy repeater and brush gun so difficult to use because of the large circles surrounding the sights blocking too much of my field of view and making hitting targets difficult
POV: your trying to find something better than the anti matterial rifle then you realize it’s the GOAT
For the Trail-Carbine, you can actually acquire it without level requirements from one of the houses in Novac. (Can’t remember specifics, it’s near the dinosaur.)
Pretty sure it’s Ranger Andy’s Bungalow, don’t quote me.
Fun fact, snipers in the military almost NEVER aim for the head but instead the chest, the head is too small of a target and moves around too much

And the 5mm by default negates -10 DT.
Loved this list Cadeo. Keep them up I say. Be it DPS list or Damage for another weapon class. Great Work man

Still an amazing game by today’s standards.
Just spam riot shotgun it’s just so good in Zion because you will run out of ammo in there after continuous firing.
Hell yeah keep these vids up, you got me back into fallout New Vegas
My last playthrough I used the hunting rifle with scope the entire time except through Honest Hearts because of the weight limit.
Paired with grunt Survivalist's Rifle outclasses any rifle and out dps the AMR. I cleared out quarry junction at level 14 with it.
Still making New Vegas videos in 2019? Good.

Here's my tentative list:
10.) Varmint Rifle
9.) Hunting Rifle
8.) Trail Carbine
7.) Cowboy Repeater
6.) Ratslayer
5.) Anti-materiel Rifle
4.) Brush Gun
3.) Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle
2.) Paciencia
1.) Survivalist's Rifle
Holorifle, Surivalist Rifle, AM Rifle are pretty much how we beat the game.

@@tylerlook1752 lmao im actually doing a melee and unarmed run and the shit is TOO op
Genuinely surprised the All-American isn't on this list.
Its damage is hardly exceptional compared to things like the anti material rifle, brush gun or gauss rifle.

YCS/186 with optimized microfusion cells out-damages the Anti-Material Rifle. As does a fully-modded Holorifle, but that's a little more reliant on the inherent damage over time.
Yes but this is not a weapon list with energy weapons
Believe it or not Paciencia has the highest possible single shot damage in the game. Paciencia access to HP rounds allows it to beat out the anti-materiel rifle and YCS/186 for 1 shot damage output with a staggering 2544 damage for a sneak attack headshot to an unarmored opponent on normal difficulty with all relevant damage perks (Better Criticals, Just Lucky I'm Alive, Bloody Mess, the Lonesome Road perk, and Lord Death (Rank 3)).
I myself like using the fully upgraded varmint rifle.
