I've played through New Vegas a billion times. And I just can't bring myself to use my holy frag grenades. They are my three little precious
F1 had only one. Usually used on a fight vs The Master to oneshot him
@Son Gohan but thats not fair or fun tho
Powder Ganger it is fun though
I use them like this:
1 for Rawr
1 for Casear
1 for Legendary Bloat fly
I used 1 then reloaded the save i made prior to throwing it.
It was glorious
At the entrance of Ceasars fort:
"What is this? It looks like a mini nuke!"
"No, no, thats my ... medicine, for my... innate heart disease..."
".... .... ok go on, ceaser is waiting for you."
Nothing better than being nostalgic over a game that's still relevant after almost 10 years

The weapon diversity in this game is easily one of the reasons that makes this game the best, nothing says F U like punching someone in the face with an explosive ballistic fist
GOD I love that weapon. Made me feel invincible.
The chainsaw is quite effective too. Sneak up behind for a critical. lol.
Did you know ballistic fist is actually shooting shotgun shells and not technically an explosion
I prefer the katana
The Two Step Goodbye is great, but it's got nothing on the Two Step Goodbye with the Khan Trick. Nothing like killing your enemies with *EXPLOSIVE! DIRT!!*
And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

Gonna love how they're some of the most damaging thing in the game, yet most hoarder only see them as free cap.

I see what you did there
This comment made me explode with laughter
I like explosives with motion sensors since I like to set up traps. Sneak around, set down some mines, MFC clusters or motion charges, crawl away and start popping shot. There's great joy in seeing enemies run into your preplanned minefield.
Until some mines fly off on your direction after the first ones exploded, like one time when i was playing. XD
One of the most satisfying things in this game
I like blowing every thing up
Confronted Benny and went to the presidential suite with him.
He was already sitting at the bar, so I threw a few MFC clusters by the only door in the room.
Had a nice chat, and let Benny live afterwards, for ten seconds.
He bounced off the ceiling.
Can't wait to get back into New Vegas. I plan on starting a new game today and play a energy weapons/unarmed build.
Wampa Stompa1996
You gotta get Pushy
not the best combo. try going pure unarmed stealth. nice challenge since stealth is very unreliable and unarmed is not as effective as melee. energy weapons are just too op and too accessible to ever use your fist

As per your time bomb remark about being friendly with the powder gangers making it easier to get sticks of dynamite, I find it even easier to get sticks if they are not friendly. 😉
Satchel charge is the most OP explosive in the game. Insanely easy to craft, low skill requirements to utilize its full potential, high damage, low fuse time, can be aquired even without crafting in large amounts.
Ede just gives u 3 free a day it's so broken lol
Skill level 25 was definitely a mistake.
Yeah satchel charge and mfc cluster have insanely easy crafting items. I have so many satchel charges for that very reason
My favorite grenades are actually Honest Hearts's firebombs. I kinda have a thing for molotovs, and I also have a mod installed called "Being on Fire Hurts a Lot", which stuns living enemies while they're burning. It's a nice immersion piece.
I love the MFC Cluster grenades, but for in-lore reasons I hate using thing. Since they seem so hard to manufacture, it feels like I'm slowly throwing away technology that the Post-War world may not be able to get back so easily and I feel guilty doing it.
I feel like the NCR has enough production capability to manufacture MFCs. I cant imagine why there couldnt be a factory on the west coast that they had taken over. The NCR does possess the only significant production capacity in the area.
I just like blowing things up
I like Molotovs too. Cause I’m Finnish. Also honest hearts is my fav dlc
@LOAN NGUYEN van graffs are making energy weapons and cells, so lob away to your heart's content
To be fair, there were pre-war factories that made microfusion cells by the thousands. So it is possible for someone to start up those factories again. Especially considering areas with high amounts of automation, like Appalachia
I’m in love with this because this game that will be 10!! This year in October. Also because it’s still so relevant & popular. It never deserves to die & bless you for making a video in 2020 about it.
I just finished Lonesome Road. Tried there the MFC Cluster on the second underground pass where the queen tunneler is. Just throw them and everything dead. Man these things are sooo good, even easier having ED-E
I don’t know about the rest of you, but the first time I found the holy hand grenades I blasted my way into Caesar’s camp and used the last one to blow him, his entourage, Boone, the mongrels and myself into oblivion
I really appreciate how your still doing fallout new Vegas videos I started the game about 1-2 months ago and I really appreciate the videos thank you caedo.

Should have gone with Limb-Liberating in the intro. Really keep that awesome alliterative appeal.
Limb launching even! But now that you've mentioned it, I'm tempted to mess up the flow on every one of them following, hehe
@@CaedoGenesis a response from the man himself! I feel accomplished!! And I really like that idea. Subverted jokes are always funny
Sounds like a science/explosive/sneak build would be quite effective.
Know how im spending my lock down now.
I sense a terrorist joke out of this.
Don't forget high repair, hit the deck perk, silent running, and light step.
Full on underrated topic ! Mines and running backwards was staple at low levels!
(1:52)
Caedo Genesis: this mines cannot be stollen cuz they are part of interior
Me: oops, looks like i've stolen everything in this store...
I love the Fat Mine, since it's an improved holdout weapon. It's hilarious sneak-killing Benny in The Tops lobby with a nuclear blast. Runner up for me is definitely the MFC Cluster; being able to so effectively make a minefield, instead of having to try and predict enemy movement with other proximity explosives, is so fun. They're also my go-to "big boy time to kill something" weapon in Dead Money.
MFC clusters are so incredibly fun to use. Sometimes they'll bounce around and land in random places with maybe one or two explosions damaging your target, and other times you just say "to hell with it" and throw your entire handful at a deathclaw and you watch in awe as they get fucking disintegrated in front of your eyes
My lord I can't I just recently found this brilliant gem of a game on PS now and I'm hooked.
Bottle cap mines have saved me against so many Deathclaws
For anyone who loves explosives, get the ragdoll mod for new vegas and kill an enemy with an explosive. When I first turned it on on a knew run I had to turn it off because my merc grenades rifle kept launching powder gangers to black mountain from good springs, and destructible environments are also fun. Explosives are probably my favorite weapon type in the game. Nothing like a big boom to kill your enemy's in one blow. Also probably the best for a chaotic play thru. Also thank you Caedo! I've been having a lot of more fun with explosives cuz now Ik what which ones to get
I ran an explosives/unarmed build recently in New Vegas and I love using missile launchers, specifically Annabell, because of two types of ammo: HV and HE. I sometimes encounter enemies in the distance and seeing a high velocity missile go soaring at them in the blink of an eye feels special. The high explosive works well with a perk that I have where the radius of explosives is increased so as long as the missile is in the same general area of what I'm aiming at, it will hit.
Yeah.
Mad bomber. That's me.
Also, full stack of 60% extra damage with explosives, thank you.
The Mad Bomber perk singlehandedly made the use of explosives the most fun part of the game for me
My all-time favorite playstyle in new vegas so far has got to be a Mad Bomber Explosives/Shotgun playstyle. I have big booms to melt enemies form afar, and anyone dumb or unlucky enough to get too close gets to meet the business end of my Riot Shotgun. Needless to say, they don't stay close for too long.
MFC clusters for sure, I remember spawning 100 Mr.Fantastics on like 20 clusters, so my computer didn’t like that very much but I did.
As a general rule, I don't use many explosives. Usually I just booby-trap the crap out of my houses, and sell the rest. Of course, if you find yourself near Harper's Shack, might wanna watch your step
I appreciate your Video as I found this Channel some Weeks ago. Keep going and seriously I did not know that with the C4 looks funny to Launch some Bodies lol
you earned my respect with the c4 trick that was amazing
Awesome video this was very educational for when I ever go back to my explosive character on New Vegas.
I remember the bottle cap mines being a lifesaver against deathclaws.
Love this video! Played the game to conclusion many times and after watching redid the Sloan Deathclaws with the MFC clusters. Kicked ass! Very gratifying to just waltz through after being killed SOOOO many times in other runs.
*The boomers would like to know your location*
Ok Boomers
If I'm going in going in like an armory and shoot em all up
Now I’m about to do a play through where if I have to assassinate someone I’m doing it with a time bomb.
I've not used many explosives, but i love throwing sticks of dynamite, never gets old!.
I wish there was a mod that improved the active gameplay.
When i play fallout i play it so much realistic so bombs are always at my list, my trusty light machine gun, amr, courier 6 power armor (mod) and a bowie knife and i use a lot of the survival skill for food and drugs, i dont know but new vegas is such an awesome game and a great fallout 💎.
At first I wasn't planning to give a mad bomber perk at all but now I'm going to get that thing
Cherry bombs may be a pain to find, but by breaking down rockets (and converting missiles to rockets then beak those down) you will end up with more cherry bombs then you know what to do with…and more conductors then you ever wanted.
And during my play throughs, that’s all too many ‘cause those bastards are heavy and their only good for either making one of the other rocket variants or to sell as conductors are more valuable than the rocket that it comes from. Just need a science of 30 to convert missiles to rockets and a repair of 50 to break them down.
Groodalicious fail the "For Auld Lang Syne" quest, detonating C-4 all over Mormon Fort.
I like the tin can grenade because it's easy to make and what's more fun than throwing explosive tin cans at people?
I knew about the C4 in the pocket and been using since the beginning, also incendiary grenades have the same sky flinging effect even when shooting it before the enemy chucks it at you
Love that they hold it out arm stretched thinking you are the target but instead I'm vats at it with 95% looking at the real target
Hotkey buckshot and throw or fire multiple explosives is also my favorite.
Legate Lanius: I AM THE MONSTER OF THE EAST AND NO MAN HAS BEATEN ME IN COMBAT!
Mad bomber courier: Are you sure about that?
Honestly my favorite explosives to use are dropped sticks of dynamite. You can walk around an ambush area and set them up strategically then once your target is in the area just shoot one of the sticks and watch the area get destroyed
This video was a BLAST👍
With the more perks mod ( I think the honest hearts one ) you can get the baptized in fire perk . Once a day if you get set on fire a holy hand grenade will be added to your inventory. We can't expect God to do all the work. But he will lend you a helping hand with this perk lol .
Have to say I still love standard Dynamite as it can be shot or added to any mine for extra effect, a powder charge is pretty cheap to make
I like the MFC cluster as they are the most fun the easiest to get a hold of while crafting, and theycan be used like grenades if necessary or even strait up converted into grenades
It's just about time for my yearly play thru of New Vegas, totally doing the C4 in everyone's inventory 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
14:47 That deathclaw was like NOPE!
I know this was all about mines and hand grenades but 40mm plasma grenades (obvisouly used with the grenade rifle) definetly deserve a spot somewhere in these vids. Ive personally had ALOT of fun with these things with only 25 explosive skill
I've made a SUPER high explosive build and it was the most fun thing I've ever done in fallout, Instantly kill everything... Including me, Nobody Kills Me but Me!!!
I freakin' LOVE planting C4 in people's pockets. Did that all the time at Gomorrah. Good times!
Mad bomber perk is one of my favorites
It changes the game so much and in such a good way. Making many different kinds of explosives that are both accessible and remain powerful throughout the game made my first ever Explosives-only character a blast to play.
8:06 that deathclaw is still alive and took it like a champ
13:05 he actually hits the skybox here.
How the fuck is good vanilla FONV being created? Props to Caedo.
MFC is my favorite one because I play as energy guy ⚡⚡⚡
It's easy to craft, it cause a hell of damage, it take a moment to set, it has a big radius of action, and it has a beautiful plasma explosion effect.
Perfect😁
3:18 wow I had no idea sneaking criticals worked on mines
Another fun thing to do with C4 is sending NPCs into space with at least 3 bricks you can send someone absolutely flying the would-be legion assassin at the damn is one of my favorites to do this to
An explosives-based character was one of the last for me to play as, because explosive weapons were cumbersome and expensive, so I instinctively learned to sell all explosives that I looted for extra caps.
The Mad Bomber perk makes all kinds of explosives readily available for you to chuck to your heart's content without having to worry about your supply. The most basic of basic explosives you can craft, the tin grenade, is extremely easy to make and almost just as powerful as the vastly more expensive frag grenade.
Didn’t know about the mini nuke mine that’s awesome have to try it out
To those who dislike New Vegas;
I 👏 will 👏 be 👏 under 👏your 👏bed 👏tonight 👏!
pretty neat, i didn't know about that GRA additions though, maybe I will check it out sometime
Don't used them as often, but I do enjoy throwing tnt because I like the sparkle effect and it's the easiest one to get.
I've been using a LOT of Tin Grenades on my latest playthrough. They're cheap to make, and with the right Explosives perks they can be almost as good as far more expensive Frag Grenades.
I did that too last time I played. Love those tin grenades. Only thing I wished was in the game though, was a tool to unbend bent tin cans. Could've made so much more. I was playing on console so couldn't use mods or commands or anything.
Tin grenades are sick. They may not be as strong as MFC clusters for general-purpose "yeet 'em and delete 'em" combat, but two or three well placed tin grenades will kill most anything right up until mid-game
For satchel charges you can also get them from the dead money dlc by getting the satchel charge code for the chip machine
Best thing about the fat mine is you can reverse pickpocket it, something you'll probably regret doing about 3 seconds later.
One time I used a glitch load a shotgun with holy hand grenades. The result was....staggering.
I really like that it still supporting fallout new vegas. Keep it up!
Mad bomber is one of Favorite perks simply because it allows you to make these toys
Nice video! Keep them rolling!
my explosives build always end up killing myself. lol
For the c4, Nash in prim had 999 c4 and a detonator. Idk if that was a glitch in my game but it's always there. After you save the town and he returns to his home. But the mfc cluster is by far my favorite explosive.
An honorable mention to the Cryo Nades and Mines...their really hard to get, trust me, their rare drops...
I remember when fallout three first came out I was playing it on my old dinosaur tv nonetheless I finally got and used the holy hand grenades in the basement where you find them I swear it almost blew up the tv from the noise alone
Anyone who loves the holy frag grenades but doesn't want to use them all look up the any ammo on any weapon glitch and that will allow you to use infinite of them
Now I wanna do a Legion playthrough where I assassinate Kimball with a remote activated c-4 from a safe distance.
One way of earning Boone’s experience point in order to trigger his personal quest is by killing sillus, the captured legion centurion; and as far as I know the only viable method to accomplish that while not failing the interrogation quest is to stealthily plant a c-4 on him, exit and talk to Boyd to finish the quest, then detonate it outside of the cell.
You can also do the quest then re-enter afterwards and beat him to death while Boone watches.
Microfusion grenades make for a great alternative tbh if you don't want to use your energy cells for actual guns and would rather use explosives. I'm playing a 1 int run for fun rn, and I plan to make a bunch of explosives.
Oh he literally says that in this video lmao my bad
Mercy is my personal favorite feel like a walking apache copter with that weapon
Just used the grenade minigun to help clear out all the cazadors, radscorpions, and deathclaws north of Goodsprings.
Hey Caedo, there are 2-4 (it's more than likely 2, but I'm saying 2-4 just to be safe) bricks of C4 on the road to Nelson, at the small NCR outpost where you meet Ranger Milo, as well as a detonator. Best part: You don't need to pick a lock to get it.
5:30 "Kira Queen daizan no bakudan, BITES ZA DUSTO"
Your awesome I dropped you a like for telling ME a VETERAN FNV player about the c4 in the pockets ❤️
I like the Mfc cluster
at least New Vegas's Nuka Grenades are affected by Demolition Expert. In 3, you needed the Unofficial Patch to make the perk work with them.
My younger brother used to terrorize people in good springs with that C4 citizen lol he would do that for hours on end
C4 explosives and the any ammo hot bar glitch is the easiest way to get anything from a vendor or just alot of caps but it is tedious to farm them
Honestly I’m not completely sure if getting the Holy Frag Grenades is worth the hassle considering there are only three available in the game. Then again, I don’t normally use explosives in most of my playthroughs so I guess it’s not bad to have.
Edit: Thinking about it, I just might save them for the battle of Hoover Dam. Especially against Legate Lanius and his cronies. I like to role play my Ranger build that he only has those three grenades as a state-of-the-art weapon.
Learned some cool shit doing mad bomber for sure next play through
The best thrown explosive is MFC grenades - because of their dirt cheap price to make and huge quantity that can be made (MFC cells can be created in the bench by converting other energy ammo like energy cells or electron charge packs - and it results of hundrets of MFC's that can be used to made tons of MFC grenades) -this makes them throwable like candy - they are not the strongest kind out there true - but the ability to rain them down en masse is a sight to behold :D
MFC cluster's are also nice :P - although i prefer to use scrap electronics to make repair kits - but if you want to mine an area easly then yes these puppies are good tools for that :P
Bottlecap mine is also nice but cherry bombs are kinda hard to come by in order to use them often.
C-4 is extremaly expensive and rare - thus this limits its usage considerably.
Satchel charges are also cool - and offer a better option when you want to use mines - due to their aviability via Edie or crafting.
Nice, bottlecap mine is basically an IED
