- In the first episode of The Joel Klatt Show: Big Noon Conversations, FOX Sports’ lead college football analyst Joel Klatt is back in Boulder to sit down with Coach Prime aka Deion Sanders. The two discuss why the Colorado Buffaloes were the right choice for Sanders and how he feels about the criticism he’s received. They get into how Prime’s now-infamous “I’m bringing my luggage and it’s Louis” line originated before Coach shares the story of what happened right after that meeting. Coach Prime also reveals what he likes and doesn’t like about the transfer portal and NIL.

I have CU being much more competitive in Year 1. Right now I have them going 4-8 as it’s clear they are more talented than previous team. Need to see if this OL can protect QB1. If they can I’ll increase my win total to 6-6! Sko Buffs!

I’m in my early fifties now and I can honestly say that Prime Time Deion Sanders is the epitome of greatness! He has the greatest combination of game, style and substance that I’ve ever seen in sports. His motivational speeches make me wanna suit up and play sports again! Lol 😂 There have been very few people who can move the needle like Deion Sanders and change an entire team and culture! I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan so I know what he means certainly! If somehow he can pull this Colorado thing off, it will be beyond spectacular! Good luck Coach Prime and I pray for your speedy recovery regarding your foot and leg issues. 🙏🏾❤️🩹

This is the best way to put it. Spellbound. And he’s only continue to ascend to mythical status.
As a former Army dude, Prime's style of leadership really resonates with me. His speech to the CU team that got tons of flak inspired me! And I'm not on the team! But watching his initial speech made me wish I was a college football player at CU.
As a Utah fan, I can't wait for Utah vs Colorado!

Legendary interview! Hope CP puts CU back on the map with wins!
CP came in at the bottom. First time coaching at a power 5 school, coaching a team that haven't had a winning season in nearly 20 years, a team that went 1-11 last year and instead of coaches demonstrating sportsmanship and, wishing him well they are criticizing him and hoping him fail. That is disposable. I wish him great success. God bless CP and the Colorado Buffaloes.
Colorado had 4 winning seasons in the last 20 years. They were first in the Big 12 North twice and one PAC 12 South title and one 2nd place PAC 12 South finish.

They're not stupid. They see what's coming over teh horizon. Prime is such a unique personality, these coaches are chook. He can get recruits on his recume alone, his gold jacket, his marketing genius, His confidence bothers folks. When he wins, it's a wrap. Prime can walk in toa room with any coach in America and take over the room, That is what pisses them off. Recuits and their parents gravitate to him, lol. Coaches out here don't have that magnetic pull. Prime is transparent, cameras everywhere, you see what his program is about every day, no guessing, no gimmicks, it is what it is. Other coaches won't dare do stuff like that. Prime is an innovator, the status quo don't like disruptors.

Suddenly I'm a Colorado fan. I'm excited to see what the team can do in a tough division. Deion has yet to back down from a challenge and I do believe that he can take this team to new heights.

I was at the Orange Bowl when we beat the Irish for the national title, and have suffered most of the last 2 decades. If Prime asked me to be a walk-on for cleaning up Ralphie the Buffalo's pen I'm there!
Coach Prime is lit 🔥 and he/his team, approach, passion and heart will continue to change college football, these young impressionable men and those of us who grew up like he did. Structure baby!

Don't forget about all the Alum's like Jeremy Bloom and Kordell Stewart who were key in helping convince Rick and Deion that CU was a worthwhile endeavor.

Prime is so wise. The analogies he uses really resonate and is so passionate. How can you not believe. He wants to win now and he knows the rules and how to execute better than anyone else. I like the line “I don’t want a sip-I want the whole cup”.

Since RUclips has been a steaming network I’ve never watched videos in it entirety’s until Coach Prime got active… Actually I find myself rewatching and rewinding more lol…. HIS VOICE AND LEADERSHIP ABILITY ABSOLUTELY GIVES YOU THE MOTIVATION TO BE BETTER IN LIFE NOT JUST FOOTBALL…. He will have a average working class citizen, reevaluating their lives and wanting to do better. I visit the Colorado campus few weeks back and I’m from Jackson,MS and the scenery is amazingly beautiful before you even get to the campus… I know he will start off successful with the Buffaloes… Winning is in their DNA and it’s proven…

Look how engaged Deion Sanders is in this interview as opposed to Nick Saban interview with his arms crossed the whole time. This is why people are drawn to CP because he makes you feel good in the moments you're with him. Joel Klatt is definitely enjoying this time and interview with CP.

It's another thing to go out and do it. Especially when he has a former swac qb playing power 5 football. We have to see it happen.

Saban has that title until the next college coach passes up 7 titles. They were a 1 win team last year. No way they win above 5 games this year. It's not realistic. Chatted with OL Coach Bill O’Boyle at a clinic this winter. He looked me in the face and said Prime is the toughest coach he’s been around - old school tough with standards. Don’t get distracted by the glitz and glamour.
PA Prime fan here. I had season tickets for the Ravens when he came out of retirement. He's a good man.
I totally agree with Coach at the 21:00 mark, The man just openly said he will not settle for mediocrity, and he is bringing competition in, and yet you're acting like a 1-11 team playing music in a meeting. No wonder they lost those games by that many points they weren't focused and didn't take Coach nor the game seriously.
I pray so hard for Coach Prime and his family and the staff and all those involved with the Buffs program that would have victory in the face of all the adversity that presents itself as an opportunity to give God the glory and praise for what He is doing through Coach Prime!

I from NYC but I had family in Aurora. When coach Prime talks about seeing what he saw for the first time that was real for me. Coming from seeing nothing but pigeons, I saw a cardinal for the first time as a teen and was blown away! Then I saw the sunset behind the Rockies... I called my mom that night and asked could I stay!... I got nothing but love for Colorado! Shout out to Aurora Hills Middle School & Gateway HS. ❤

Awesome interview, love it! It's one thing being a good coach, but every coach don't have a vision. Having that vision changes everything. When your leader has a vision, there are lots of things to look forward to. Praying that these young men continue to follow the vision and continue to strive and achieve there goals. The Blueprint is laid out
This has been Coach Prime's blueprint since he was coaching kids in the youth leagues here in Dallas years ago. The man is the epitome of coaching consistency, not babying kids and keeping it 100 when everyone else wants to keep it politically correct. Folks are going to be wowed at how quick he turns that program around. There are hundreds of kids in DFW alone he's coached and exposed the game to when they were young that are now getting ready for college ball with the parent's blessing of coach already in tow. Faithful & Fearless!! God's continued blessings and hedge of protection over you Coach.

I love Coach Prime’s thought process. Being a Utah fan, I love what Kyle Whittingham has done for our program. He sets the stage for true leadership, expectations from the player, and reminds the players, you will develop into a beast of a player if you are ready for it. Colorado has never been a true rival to Utah as much as the pundits have said, but I hope this creates one!
