Shout out the “it is what it is” for introducing me to Maurice Clarett and shout out the pivot for showing us what a real g he is. I see why cam holds him in such high regard
I'm from Youngstown. Reese is my cuzzo. He's telling no lies. Growing up in the Yo is no joke. I'm proud of the fact he went through hell and is still here to talk about it.. 💯
Gentlemen of the Pivot. This interview is just as powerful, if not more than the Michael Beasley, Tyson, etc, etc, this is a movement for the community. I know you want to be as diverse as possible with the entire show. These interviews Right Here is why this Pod hit so hard. Much Love to the Pivot movement!
Maurice mention Coach Prime on your podcast y’all could create a “Pivot” move to reconnect these two men. Coach Prime players , coaches & support staff need to hear his empowering message. Watching Colorado vs Stanford game tonight Coach Prime needs help with these young players. Watch your podcast all the time & I truly believe you & your guests sharing your life experiences connects with viewers & lives are being changed. Coach Prime need’s everyone in the “Village” to step up & give him a “helping hand”. When young people get to comfortable it’s easy for them to “check out” so you need to build a tag team of men like Maurice.
Can't wait for part 2. Shout out to Cam and Mase for putting Maurice on their show and the fellas at the pivot for contacting him and giving him the chance to show your platform who and what he is. I'm from Ohio and went to Ohio state. He's still a legend. People can grow and evolve they just have to decide that's what they want to do and commit to it
The amount of transparency , clarity, pain, redemption- these are things that we often do NOT SEE commonly in our Black communities. The Pivot Podcast is doing something that many other programs aim for, but cannot achieve. You are making a DIFFERENCE. Period. Changing the narrative on Black Men, Athletes, Families, Addiction, Redemption- essentially all parts of the human condition. Please keep doing this important work, speaking for those who are voiceless, and evolving perspective for the world. Bravo, God Bless Brothers.
well said. This show is a safe space for athlete brothers to open up, and be human. I used to work with Jim Brown/Amer-I-Can Program here in L.A. for many years. Jim dedicated his life to helping young black men, its why he tried helping Maurice. He/we were dedicated to creating these sorts of needed spaces.
One of the best interviews! No cap, no sugar coating, and just real. This is what is needed. Honestly, transparent, and just straightforward conversation. Regardless of where he is…. I REMEMBER THAT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN 02!! He was the ish!
RC is such a wise soul. My bro said “the difference between business and people is feelings.” Also building and massaging relationships. Awesome closer! And just purchase the book “the way of the superior man on audible.” Thanks for the 🔌 Chan! Eat up the meat and spit out the bones. Many gems 💎 dropped today…..
I wasnt really feeling this episode when the thumbnail popped up because I've heard his story before. But none of this has ever been told before like how OSU did him and all the details of his life. Glad i clicked now. And i hope other young brothers listened too!!
This man’s high school highlight reel is ridiculous. I followed his career closely being an Ohio native and OSU alum. I’ve seen him at the gym in Cbus a few years back. He’s a classy and humble man. Great to see him thriving. Buckeye nation always got love for MC!
I love my fellow 330 brother from the YO! Born and raised in Youngstown! The Clarett Boys Michael, Marcus, and Maurice. Representing the YO now and forever! Thanks, RC and the Pivot for having Maurice.
His mom tried to scam a teenager from younstown after side wiping her and lying to the cops about it. She was in a Tesla and the teenage a beat up Mazda. Rich stealing from the poor.
I was already a fan of Maurice Clarett the football player but after this episode of The Pivot, I'm an even bigger fan of the man Maurice Clarett. Great show fellas.
I’m an Ohio State Buckeye for life, my dad was a graduate, my uncle worked on staff. When I was 11yrs my cousin and I would go into the locker room after games and talked to Woody, Archie, Pete & Cornelius in amazement. SHAME ON YOU OSU, YOU HAVE A MAN COMPRABALE to a Deion Sanders in his stance and love for our youth, redemption, forgiveness, accountability. Listen to this man speak, listen to his heart, when you have another school realizing the value of this man speaking and ingratiating themselves to him. PLEASE, PLEASE WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND THIS TREASURE AND WELCOME HIM BACK TO HIS OSU FAMILY. You guys saved 1 life and now he has the capacity to save a generation. Every player, past& present talks about “THE BROTHERHOOD” at THEE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, C’mon BUCKS, don’t miss this wonderful opportunity❤
FACTS! INFORMATION IS KEY! AD YOUNG BLACK MAN THAT DON'T HAVE INTEGRITY MORALES AND RESPECT WITHIN NEEDS TO HEAR THIS FROM A REAL MAN AND LIFESTYLE ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah. Maurice Clarett needs to make a movie man. This crap is wild. His life is a whole book. Made mistakes but he learned from them. In some ways. I see a lot of Wallo n his testament
I'm an Ohio State Alum. I remember when alot of what Maurice said was going on. Amazing story of redemption. Y'all really filled in gaps of things I never knew. Love the Pivot. 💯 Keep telling these stores. They need to be heard. 💯
As a die hard Buckeye fan Maurice Clarett is one of my favorite Buckeyes of all time. His life journey is so inspirational. Wishing him continued success and blessings.
I have a huge amount of respect for this guy. There is a bunch of kids across this country that need to get to know this man’s story. He’s a great inspiration. Could’ve been one of the best to do it.
Maurice walked so these new kids could run. Thank this man for NIL deals. never forget. People laughed at this man back then to even suggest players be paid.
Love a good redemption story. Gives me hope. Proud of this man that is the same age as me. I can relate to a lot of his experiences and his perspective.
I lived through this as a die hard buckeye fan. Maurice was the man…the university and adults assigned to mentor him or guide him really let him down in my opinion. This was great & what a transformation this man has gone through. So much honesty, accountability & realness 💯
It's more about the programs' focus on saving face. Not in the best interest of the person or persons. Just like the situation with the 2 young men that ended up being found not guilty for rape. It was just ugly how programs handled situations that gave them any kinda bad look.
Another conversation that did not go the way that I expected. Once again, a convo that ALL young people should listen to. My impression of Maurice was likely the typical one held by most folks. I'm so glad that I got to hear him share his story. Kudos to all.
I truly love and appreciate the transparency of this interview. He doesn't make excuses or play the blame game. All of Maurice's trials and tribulations have prepared him for the next phase of his life which will include success.
The first buckeye game I ever went to was Maurice’s first game of his freshman year. It’s one of my earliest childhood memories and was a pivotal moment in my life. From that point on football became a passion for me, and this man played a huge role in that. He is a legend, and I am so PROUD of the man that he has become and the fact that he is and always will be an Ohio state buckeye.
I was a kid watching this guy and everything he went through proud of this Brother and his profound knowledge this was an amazing interview and very influential
