The guys got together for an impromptu BBQ for Memorial Day and to celebrate Ryan's big Emmy win from last week and while there, a conversation broke out and we turned it into an episode! There were lots of cheers but also some tears as Ryan, Channing and Fred acknowledged the reflection and recognition of the journey. The words exchanged, stories shared and the emotions opened up to a very honest and vulnerable conversation about life as men, fathers, providers and just everyday humans who struggle with things too.
Ryan is very candid about his experiences in broadcasting and what motivated him to get to a level he's at now and how being recognized was rewarding but putting the hard work in everyday is the true reward. He openly shares his journey and some of the moments that helped shape his career after football. Fred and Channing talk about some of the things they have learned from Ryan and also take a trip down memory lane about their favorite off camera Pivot moments. Definitely have some laughs and talk about the evolution of the show and them as men over the past year. As they talk about their families, they lead into the discussion about parenting and a story Kim Kardashian shared about how she cries herself to sleep some nights questioning herself as a mom. Channing who was raised by a single mom, weighs in on it as Ryan offers his perspective as a father and someone raised in a two parent household as Fred's story is different being raised by his grandma,
As the conversation is winding down, Ryan asks Fred how he's doing with him first answering "I'm good", then there is a moment of silence followed by tears and eyes filling up as Fred discloses some personal struggles he is dealing with and Channing follows up with some of his own thoughts. A very powerful conversation today between men, brothers and friends.

Channing just asking “what’s wrong with Grandma” was so important. He gave Fred the permission to say what he needed to say and express it however he felt it. Beautiful shit.
Yes indeed.
Real men conversation. Showing love for each other.
Those 3 questions RC asked Channing made me cry...Whew
Love these brothers. Love the heart felt conversations and the silly ones too lol!
😊😊😊😊
Fred talking about his grandma hit me in the most personal way....I love the chemistry, and the bond that these three men have...it's beautiful.
Beautiful show. Fred sharing his feelings about his grandmother was great. Love you guys .The love of Brothers of different mothers. Was amazing. I say this because i was in the US Army and thats how we are.
Bro I was fighting tears.
I am a 66 year young woman, and I love love love this show. I am not a sports person, but this show is so much more than sports. Congratulations RC, Channing and Fred love you all.
A seasoned 52!!👍😊🙏💕
Im 65 and love these guys
A blessed 58 and loving it.
Welcome to the family, young lady
I am a 51 year old woman and I agree with you 1000%
Fred talking about his grandma hits different. My granny also raised me and she has dementia and its so hard to see what that disease has done to that giant of a woman. There's nothing like a grandparent love.
So true. My grandmother raised me and everyone just used her until there was nothing left. I miss that woman. 🙏🏾
Me too. My grandma supported my brothers and I our entire lives, and she’s in the earlier stages of dementia, but it’s been hard. ❤
This is more than a podcast this show is part of life Foreal. Fatherhood brotherhood ❤🎉
Big fact’s couldn’t have said it better 💯✊🏾
Personally made some good growth the last couple years, these guys and their guests played their part🤝🙏
Setting this sentiment. It’s about having a relationship where you can really be yourself and communicate.
I Agree
Facts!
I absolutely LOVE seeing black men in this light! Thank you for celebrating each other out loud 👏🏽
When Fred said "She's not living, she's just here and it's fucked up" everything broke in me because I know exactly how that man feels so I'm so happy he was able to not only talk about it but to let those tears out, this was really hard to watch man🥺.
I know what he means. It's devastating 😢
@@sherrigrant573 Absolutely heartbreaking
Fred’s a hell of a guy from what we see, definitely hurt seeing him like this…But, understandably so and it is a part of our lives along with the joy and happiness.
@@texasjedi8680 FACTZ!
That hit me hard, and I have never dealt with a loved one with dementia. His raw emotion touched me. I appreciate these men. It's the only podcast I subscribe to because I feel their genuineness. Even Channing talking about prioritizing his wife, I've been feeling the same lately, and I am making that pivot a priority.
I'm a 69yr old man/ with God's blessing I'll be 70 yrs old in June. I'm sooo proud of you 3 young handsome men. I've never thought I could be so inspired/uplifted as I am by you guys. Ryan, I am a Steelers fan but that has nothing to do with my admiration for you. Freddy T. I'm sending a prayer to you/Grandma and family, I know what you're feeling my mom had dementia also, and Channing don't forget to call your wife, just to say I'm thinking of and love you more than you could ever know💙. I wish all of you individually/collectively nothing but continued success. God bless my brothers🙏🏼, and the people behind the scenes that does a phenomenal job producing "The Pivot".☮👍🏽
I don’t think here is a better trio than these 3. Congrats to RC. He deserved it
Facts🎉
The three musketeers.
😁
There’s not. 🐐🐐🐐
Yeah but I’d still think Chad and Brandon’s personalities help balance out the rest

This is some sincerity that is unmatched……Respect
Man I empathize with Fred's situation so much. My grandmother passed in 2008. She had dementia and it was heart breaking seeing her mind fade away. Fred, you know she is so proud of the man she raised you to be. She may not always recognize you now but trust me she'll have her moments when you see that sparkle in her eyes when you walk in the room.
So true.
That's right! Take solace in knowing that you had such a rich and full life on this earth together. Remember all the good times and continue to live your life in a way the would honors her.
Amen
This podcast is needed. The pure love & honesty, and no fake stuff is what makes us keep coming back.
Seeing Fred tear up made me drop a tear. Sending prayers for you and your family Fred. God Bless you and The Pivot Family as well
These men have created so many truly iconic moments through the conversations they’ve had with their guests; but this time they spent with just one another May just transcend them all. This is three friends and brothers just being honest, vulnerable, and transparent. Bravo to all of them for allowing us to peer into the window!
😊1😊
FREDDY T!!!!! Being vulnerable and showing his emotions. This is more than a podcast! Ryan, HUGE congratulations, you are more than deserving. Chan the man, love how he continues to be unapologetically himself!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
We here for you Freddy T, You, GrandMa and Family in our prayers!!!!
Fred crying got me. We praying for your grandmother man!🙏🙏🙏
This was so awesome. Fred crying, Channing's laughter, skidmarks etc... Congrats RC for winning an Emmy.
This PIVOTed a few times...
On display…right here…
tenacious, brilliant, and secure, Black Men.
It is a beautiful thing. ✨
I'm literally sitting here with a big smile as Channing and Fred give Ryan his flowers. Congrats to you all!
Congratulations to RC on the award. Congratulations to Freddie T and Chan as well as a collective on the Pivot. This is a Platform that I let my family watch and know it’s about Black Excellence! Love to y’all 3 Brothers !!!
I’m 18 soon to be 19 & my dad has relatively always been part of my life. However, mentally & emotional I’ve learned so much about growing & what it will take to become a man from you guys. Thanks for being true OGs! Much love
Why can’t you dwell on a win, like you dwell on a loss……STRONG💯
Praying for Fred's grandmother and his family. 🙏🏿
Seeing your grandmother slowly slip away is an indescribable hurt. We love you and support you, Fred!
Congratulations Ryan on winning the award! Celebrate that, you deserve it.!
Also, Fred, praying for mental clarity for you, seeing a loved one go through something that’s out of control is definitely hard to get through at times.
This is definitely my favorite podcast to watch. Good to see grown men show vulnerability.
Channing, keep being a shining light for others your energy is unmatched.
These guys all love each other man its great they normalize these conversations amongst men. Making real impact on people’s lives without even meeting them
This Podcast always hit the right points. To hear Fred talk about his struggles regarding his grandmother was hard. But to be vulnerable and talk about it and shed tears on the show was the mark of a real man!! Congratulations RC and Fred keep on being you, cuz u keep me laughing!! 🥰🥰❤️❤️
Making sure your friends alright is important you’ll never know what they might be going through. My fav moment on the show was Channing and Taylor sharing their “uh oh” moments lol
Damn Fred. I cried too man. My grandma was everything in my life too. So I understand the feeling. Much love family 🙏🏾🖤
This show is amazing. The whole podcast deserves an Emmy!
Yes, recognize the Pod industry wide…🌎
They will definitely get one !!!! 🥇🥇🏆
Freddie 😢😢😭 thanks for sharing. You know you're in a safe space with your brothers. ❤ Tears are medicine
Fred…thanks for sharing the love of your grandmother especially through her illness. It reminded me of my grandmother and mother who suffered through dementia. It tortured me too to the point of having nightmares. My brother-in-law helped me through. Nothing like having another strong brother to talk to and lean on.
A big salute to you guys!
The Brotherhood, the respect, the love, the bond and the ultimate willingness to give each other their flowers in abundance is exactly why The Pivot is just a cut above all the rest! Salute
Ryan deserves alot. He's carried himself well in that area and is a great example for any youth. Great example of pursuing excellence. Great Brothers are good to have!
Ryan I can relate, but I want you to understand what God is doing for you and Fred and Channing your true rewards are in touching the Lives of people. Congratulations and true blessings to you all.
THE biggest reason THE PIVOT succeeds is the genuine chemistry, Fred, Ryan, and Chan have with each other. Every episode I've watched, I've realized these 3 men truly like and care for each other. I never, ever, get the sense that their bond is/was created for just business purposes. How Ryan and Chan listened to Fred explains his feelings about his grandmother, her health situation , and what she means to him, is the real essence of their podcast. Each of them actually LISTEN when guests, or each other, are speaking. With real respect. THAT is their real "secret sauce".
Continued success to each of them. I watch them, as much as their guests. Congrats to RC on the Emmy win;truly deserved. Prayers to Fred, his grandmother, and Chan and Asia, as well.
I’m only 10 mins in and hearing you all give RC his flowers is amazing…salute to RC for the Emmy win and being a great example of achievement in every field of human endeavor!
Fred my heart goes out to you. I lost my grandmother in 2007 to Alzheimers and it was the hardest thing watching a strong person slowly fade away. I appreciate your vulnerability today on the show and I truly understand how you are feeling. Prayers and love to you and your family
Sheesh. Made me shed a tear for this one.. Always ask your close people if they are ok. It is highly important and will go a long way. God Bless you guys at the Pivot and please keep on doing amazing things. You fellas have had such a tremendous impact on me and so many more!
Fred I knew what you were gonna say before you said it. My Dad is showing early signs as I too break out in tears just at the thought of it. They call it "the long goodbye"...it sucks. Thanks for your vulnerability.❤
55:54 OKAY…😭😭😭Y’all, we will cross paths/work together in some way in the future. Yep, declaring and claiming it into existence. This part right here…is the flipping strawberry on top (I can’t stand some cherries)…😭😭😭Thank you RC…Thank you Freddie and thank you Channing…to be seen and heard…you all do this each week. Oh, and THANK YOU PRODUCER!! (Y’all may see an edit for her name…) THIS EPISODE IS SOOOO NEEDED!! 😭🙌🏾❤️
You guys are the truth! To Fred, I understand. My Mother has been living with me for 2 years and is now in the dementia stage. It is horrible to watch. She is 92 and can't remember me sometimes. Just comfort and console her Bro. God sees you. Much respect to you and the show for giving dementia awareness. Love y'all for life.
My guys!!!! Fellas just wanted to take some time to say thank you for allowing me to share this space with you guys every week. As a man that faced many adversities in his day to day life it’s refreshing hearing other people battles through life, knowing it’s not just me out here fighting. Thank you guys for starting this and allowing me to just hear another man’s voice that thinks like me. Keep doing what y’all are doing. My biggest pivot in life has been my kids… the moment I had them my life had a complete 180 and thank y’all for giving me 3 different fathers/husbands perspectives on the little things. Love the show and what y’all are doing for the people.
🙏🏾💪🏾🙌🏾
Well said. Its bigger than a podcast. Its like chopping it up with friends when we tune in. The Pivot is truly incredible. and honestly its like therapy...in my opinion. Keep fighting Fam...
God bless you🙏
A Chan made a great point. Black Men we do not celebrate each other enough. Congratulations Ryan. Honestly bro, you are a Black Man that makes us all proud the way you carry yourself on TV and we can’t say that about enough people. You definitely deserve it. Forsure
The Realist Show on line. Real men. Real Talk. Thank-You.
This show has been a form of therapy for me. There are things that have been said here that have challenged me to be a better husband, father, and friend. Thank you, and congratulations to all three of these brothers. You guys showed us all how to PIVOT!!!!
Freddie T, prayers to you and your family. I lost my grandma to cancer 2 years ago. She was healthy, and watching her just fade away was easily the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. Lost her 2 months prior to me getting married after they thought she beat it but it ended up coming back more aggressive. There’s nothing that can really prepare you for it. Just enjoy the moments you have. I would do anything for a hug from my grandma right now, or introduce her to my new son which is her first great grandson. Prayers and blessings to everybody. Hug your family if you’re able to.
That’s what this is about, man. The fellas linking up, having a ball, joke around, but when it’s serious when one of your brothers is thinking about his loved one in this case Fred’s grandma, RC and Chan is there with him. With their brother in pain. Love this moment! Congratulations RC on that Emmy dub, my prayers go out to Fred’s Grammy, and Channing, being always high spirited and bringing the funny into this podcast along with the real, thank you three for doing this! #/pivot/
I love this show! I love that the men are to open to expressing their feelings. At their level of athleticism, I feel it is so needed to see them being "ok" to cry and express how they feel. So many men are taught that crying or opening up about how they feel is a sign of weekend. This show deserves every award out there!
Every strong group of friends needs this in their life, atleast 2x a month. Come together as men with drinks, food, games to just vent in a safe space and everyone be receptive to listen.
Congrats RC. I’m glad they honored a real one.
Fred, I am going through the same thing with my grandmother. My heart goes out to you! It's so hard watching them transition from a mover and a shaker to being stuck inside their selves!
Congrats RC we’ll deserved I still remember you coming out on IAA on the Wade episode and telling myself “This guy needs his own podcast” Im so glad we got you three every week! Fred and Chan we love you take care of yourself! 🙏🏾
Cried this whole episode. I admire the hell outta y’all fellas. Much love Big Fred. I know that pain
Congratulations 🎉 RC and thank you Fred and Channing for being real.
I don’t even watch football but have been a day 1 Pivot fan bc of the humor, sincere camaraderie and documentary style interviews you all do. I am so grateful you 3 ended up together. I’ve learned so much about all manner of topics just listening to The Pivot. Much love and prayers to your families and to all of the continued success, individually and as a collective. 🎉❤💐🙏🏾
I love how Channing and Ryan poured into Fred regarding his grandmother.
My goodness!!! FRED TAYLOR!!!!! Bruh, those tears was all that needed to be said. And your brothas was right there with you. No judgement, just gave you your time. That's powerful 🤝🏿👏🏿
This is by far becoming one of my favorite podcasts. The genuine conversations and camaraderie between you guys is unparalleled. Thank you for sharing your personal side and the difficult conversations. This episode definitely had me up in my feels. Much love to you guys and congrats on your success.
True brotherhood. Proud to be a long time listener. Dark drawers only. Congrats on your well deserved award RC. Prayers for your family Fred 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’m tuned in!!! 👀 1st time Fred cried😢 I thought I wasn’t going to ever see it. It’s ok though I understand Fred. It’s good to let it out.
Took alot to make that happen 😢😢😢 jah kwn
Hey FRED....I buried my mother on Feb 10. She also had dementia 😪 the hardest parts was watching her slowly drift away and even sometimes forgetting who I was. I feel your pain and know exactly what you mean....knowing there was absolutely nothing I could do, being helpless is a tremendous hurt that im still dealing with today.....praying for you my man🙏🙏
Whew beautiful beautiful episode.
Lost my grandma to dementia. I can relate to Fred. I pride myself in honoring her legacy.
I hope that Fred can find comfort in knowing he did right by her. ❤
Also, congrats Ryan! 59:08
Mannnn Ryan when you ask Freddie those 3 questions and Freddy geared up, had me tearing up cause we don’t do a mental well check on friends and family. I also agree with Channing on being funny and making people laugh all the time doesn’t mean ur happy.. I saw myself in this cause I pretend I’m happy and put on fake smiles but can be torn and broken inside.. That’s for this episode and Congratulations.
I remember seeing Ryan on First Take when he was still playing and thinking that he could be good at this. He has proven to be so great at what he does and so thoughtful! All the best RC!
I feel you Freddy-T! My mom had dementia. It’s tough…seems so unfair. I wouldn’t wish this condition on anyone. My mom passed in 2019, and I still have my moments. Hang in there, keep believing, celebrate all that she has done thus far!!! Remember the good times. 🙏🏽❤
Congratulations RC! Thank you guys for sharing personal issues that has or had been going on in your life's! Also Thank you for the awesome guests & may God continue to bless each of you! I ❤️ The Pivot
Can't stress this enough
This Podcast is NECESSARY!
Never disappoint this episode is the epitome of what a great conversation is made from , honestly, humility, kindness, wisdom and compassion👏🏾Bravo Congratulations Ryan so deserving 🏆👏🏾⭐️🫶🏾❤️💯🫶🏾😊Fred know a lot people understand, coming of our age this is when you see you Parents and Grandparents slipping away from whom we knew them to be us heartbreaking 💔 I am so glad you have your village to support you. Praying with you Fred. Witness it is heartbreaking 💔
I ❤ this show. I became a fan of Fred and Chan on IAA, but this feels so personal each time.
Congrats on your win RC🎉🥳🎊❤️ Fred sending you hugs and prayers. I understand. My granny had dementia as well. It was difficult but I knew she knew that I loved her tremendously. She would call me her daughter all the time and argue with me, bc I would tell her I'm her granddaughter. But she was my mother. Chan, don't forget about your wife. ❤❤❤ love you guys ❤❤❤❤
Congratulations Ryan👏👏👏. Job well done. I love Fred's honesty, his compassion & love for his grandmother. I love The Pivot podcast. Thanks for those 3 questions Ryan. We all need that check in.
Just about every episode, I have a smile on my face the entire show. In a world where there is so much stress and pressure, I am truly grateful for the joy that you brothers bring to my day. Congrats to you RC. The Pivot is hands down the best in the business.
It’s crazy you could tell Fred energy was different before he had his moment. We all wit u Freddie T!! ❤
Congratulations RC!!! You represent our city so well. The love and respect between the three of you is evident and that's what makes this show great.
Out all of your guys' videos, this is by far the best video I've watched! The reason is that you guys gave each other flowers, and you exposed the value of checking on each other and being vulnerable. Thank you, guys!
Congratulations Ryan on winning an Emmy Award. You deserve it
I just want to say THANK YOU!! Thank you for your real and vulnerability! Someone NEEDED to see and hear you release the real, because they are experiencing the same situation! Asking the questions and really giving a damn about the answer! Also it is OKAY TO NOT BE GOOD!!! Know ppl are WILLING TO SHOW FOR YOU!!!!
Peace and blessings to the Kings. You guys don't do enough shows with just you three. You three are impressive in your own rights. It's one of my favorite episodes.
Seeing these 3 together makes me happy for some reason! Congrats to RC!
Aye man.. yall can't take me on an emotional rollercoaster like that. I went from crying in reflection with Fred to crying of laughter at the sudden switch up at the white underwear 🤣 Love yall boys!
I’m sitting here as a female senior citizen, crying. Pure Joy, Admiration, Respect and Pride in all three of you. Outstanding and absolutely THE BEST Podcast, show, interviews.period. The Pivot is It….bar none
Nah bro with all due respect you that dude RC in everything you do thank you for your work 🙏🙌💯
This show is therapeutic! Thank you Fred for being open...I'm going through the same with my mom and I share those tears! 😥God bless...continued success and congrats RC on the well deserved win!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hands down my favorite show. That Beasley interview Emmy moment all day and congrats to Ryan, he is a great example.
I know exactly what Fred is feeling. I am going through the same thing.. YOU ARE NOT ALONE my brother!!!
I also forgot to say… big shout out to you RC. You were super humble this whole show but let’s just be real you did something HUGE.. talk about a pivot. Like you say all the time from being undrafted to making a roster to getting a contract and a SECOND, becoming a super bowl champion but also a anchor to one of the meanest Defenses in the league at the time ( hell of all time) to winning an Emmy my brotha you’re the perfect embodiment of what pivoting is. Salute to you and im excited for what the future holds for you and this show. Let’s get the pivot a Emmy!!!
Hate seeing Fred like this...one of the toughest I know fasho...got me crying DAMN
@3'sWay
All I can honestly say is "I LOVE YOU GUYS"! Sometimes shedding a tear starts our healing. It will always be there, but releasing some of that pressure can help you make it thru!!! ❤n✌...By the way, I HATE white underwear!!!🤣😂🤣😂
Sending a virtual hug to my fellow Flawda boi - you rep Palm Beach so well Fred 🌴🌴
We’re proud of you beyond football king 🫶🏾👑🫶🏾
The best group of men I’ve ever seen in my life you guys are role models. Congratulations to you all 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This was an emotional show for me. Freddy T, I UNDERSTAND, I was there and but happen to lose my grandfather to dementia just in December. My grandparents were MY PARENTS. Congrats RC on this much deserved award. Chan, continue to be you, and it was great to admit to your lacking. in your relationship❤❤❤❤.
Enjoyed this episode to the upmost 🧡 congrats RC!
My heart goes out to Fred granny, we all were raised by our grandmothers and they hold a special place in our heart. Many prayers up! 🫶🏽
Fellows your podcast is exceptional. The chemistry, true brotherhood and quality product you produce is exceptional. Congrats to RC for his award. Channing your personality is hilarious. and you are always keeping it real. Fred this past September I lost my 91-year-old mom to dementia. It hurts like hell to see that transition, but you have to reflect on the good times and lean on the Lord. I wish you fellows continued success and you need to have me on the show.
Congrats RC👏
All the best to the whole team
The Emmy was very well deserved. Not a surprise at all. Congratulations Ryan and I continue to look for great things to keep coming from this Pod Cast. Next Big award I expected is Fred to get his Gold Jacket!!!!!
Guests or not this SHOW is the best 💯🤞🏾
This episode was good for the soul man, every man deserves atleast one friend you can be this real with, asking your friends how they are with emphasis needs to be normalized.
I wish good vibes and energy to each of you out there💯✊🏽
The Pivot crept up on me this week because it feels like a Monday after the holiday.
I am so happy for Ryan on getting his Emmy. But hats off to all three of y'all. You guys are the best. No sh-t.
