Full disclosure, I’m a Michigan fan.
Much respect to Coach Sark for taking that Texas program and focusing it in the way he has.
Of course I’m hopeful my boys can beat the doors off his Longhorns when they come to our place this fall, but regardless of how that turns out, it’s a real privilege to host Texas.
On a more important note, thank you for mentioning sobriety, and personal struggles that transcend sports. Our lives and how live before God, ourselves, and our loved ones is so much more important and significant than anything that takes place on a football field. Best to both of you in your recoveries.

I love having him as the coach at Texas. There were “fans” calling for him to be gone after the first year, but he just needed time to get the team where he wanted it.
Those same “fans” are now eating crow. Texas might lose a couple games this season, but with the expanded playoff, that’s okay.

Sark speaking to his team each year to tell the story of his struggles with addiction, maintaining sobriety, and the work its taken to find both personal and professional redemption is a great example of modeling both personal accountability and humility. It’s far beyond just football. That’s an outstanding role model for young men. He seems to be the right fit for Texas and not surprised we’re seeing them becoming more successful. this might be the most pathetic post I've seen this year. Are you 13 years old? Is your ego so fragile you can't handle a coach not named Venables getting an interview? JFC lol.
Texas was a playoff team that won the conference and is moving to a new one. If you can't understand why he'd want to interview the head coach then you should probably mature a little.

So you didn't see Florida's schedule? OU fans don't whine about schedules. We are chasing nattys. So if we are good enough to win a natty, the schedule doesn't matter. If we get beat, then we weren't good enough to win a natty anyway. It works itself out, just fine.

Historically, OU and Texas have had similar schedules. In the last 15 years, Texas has 3 10+ win seasons while OU has 11. In that stretch, OU hasn't had two consecutive seasons of less than 10 wins while in that same time range, Texas hasn't had consecutive 10+ win seasons.
Sark has had 1 season of more than 10 wins in his career.
