Full disclosure, I’m a Michigan fan. Much respect to Coach Sark for taking that Texas program and focusing it in the way he has. Of course I’m hopeful my boys can beat the doors off his Longhorns when they come to our place this fall, but regardless of how that turns out, it’s a real privilege to host Texas. On a more important note, thank you for mentioning sobriety, and personal struggles that transcend sports. Our lives and how live before God, ourselves, and our loved ones is so much more important and significant than anything that takes place on a football field. Best to both of you in your recoveries.

Texas fan here. I believe Sark is the best play caller offensively. That's a proven fact. We'll find out defensively where this staff stands this season.
I love having him as the coach at Texas. There were “fans” calling for him to be gone after the first year, but he just needed time to get the team where he wanted it. Those same “fans” are now eating crow. Texas might lose a couple games this season, but with the expanded playoff, that’s okay. I am excited for the future of this team. There is something special in the works at Texas. They better hold on to Sark, because the NFL will be knocking at his door soon.
Sark speaking to his team each year to tell the story of his struggles with addiction, maintaining sobriety, and the work its taken to find both personal and professional redemption is a great example of modeling both personal accountability and humility. It’s far beyond just football. That’s an outstanding role model for young men. He seems to be the right fit for Texas and not surprised we’re seeing them becoming more successful. Can’t wait to see them compete week to week in the SEC.
That's a special Head Football Coach right there, Texas is fortunate to have Coach Sarkisian. I don't think there is a smarter or more thoughtful college football coach in America. 2024 may be Texas' year to win it all.

There’s no reason to try and belittle someone and their journey, just to try and elevate others. All of those coaches are great, but that doesn’t mean Sark can’t be as well. The culture of vulnerability and humility was sorely needed at Texas. The tone has shifted big time. And on top of that, Sark is one of the top offensive minds in the game.

Gundy is a helluva coach and has done so much for OK State. Going to miss having Texas play them, because they were always a scrappy team that put up a big fight. I hope they win the Big 12, and I’ll be pulling for them.
I know this is a bit off topic but this is a thought I had in regards to the playoff expansion. Due to 4 conference champs getting an auto bud in the playoff, technically, the playoff is a 16 team playoff.
@@xxviiinc7833 but if you include the the conference championship games of the 4 conference champions, then there are 4 other teams that could possibly make the playoffs. So that is why technically it already is a 16 team playoff. Now some of the conference runner ups might have a good enough record to still put them in the playoffs in a lower seat. But if none of the runner up conference champions make it to the playoffs, then there are 4 other teams that could make the playoffs just by winning their conference championship game.

Shoutout to LenDale White, but Reggie either has to get the ball or at least be on the field as a threat in that situation with the championship on the line.
These interviews are so good. This is so much better than listening to people on TV talk about nonsense during the off-season. We need more of this and less of the nonsense on TV from presenters that don't really add/bring anything of importance(not Joel clearly). Just wanna say though, with the editing, the pounding during the transitions is distracting. IDK if it's just me but when the transitions happen, it brings me out of the conversation happening. It might just be me.

Sark was an amazing coach at bama. Hated to see him go. Wish he was still there to take over. But Saban left Alabama in good shape and we got a coach that was in the playoffs that beat Sark. Saban is impossible to replace and records will be hard for anyone to break.
Put me in the camp that thinks college football's best days are in the past. It is now on the path to being NFL lite. Everything that made college football special is being pushed to the side so it more closely resembles the NFL.

So you didn't see Florida's schedule? OU fans don't whine about schedules. We are chasing nattys. So if we are good enough to win a natty, the schedule doesn't matter. If we get beat, then we weren't good enough to win a natty anyway. It works itself out, just fine.
Historically, OU and Texas have had similar schedules. In the last 15 years, Texas has 3 10+ win seasons while OU has 11. In that stretch, OU hasn't had two consecutive seasons of less than 10 wins while in that same time range, Texas hasn't had consecutive 10+ win seasons. Sark has had 1 season of more than 10 wins in his career. History says OU will be just fine.

Not really he said when you lead with NIL is when it’s an issue. You have to remember these coaches have already had in home and at practice visits long before the OVs that have Lambos out.
They’ll lose to Michigan game #2 of the season because Michigan will be @ home and that defense will suffocate the Longhorns. In my opinion. That will be the only loss for Texas entering the playoffs though.

Texas is not my team, but it's my dad's favorite team and my stepbrother played high school football with Sarkisian, so I will be hoping they do well.
