People seem to forget that Paula Abdul used to kill it on the stage back in the day. She is much older now and, clearly, still has it. Paula set the stage for the J. Lo's of current day. She is a legend.
Please note, she did this after 9 surgeries on her back because of a plane crash that took her nearly 6 years to recover from. She is an amazing fighter because when you hear this story to how she came back with this song, it is just amazing. Her story is under Paula Abdul on "Why She Gave Up Her Mega Singing & Performing Career"
I remember watching this on American Idol when I was a teenager and thinking this song was just the coolest thing ever. I’ve never forgotten it, and I always come back to hear it every so often!!
@@kamaldonadelle4305 ...there was a pair of twins that used to take her cheerleading camp classes...and they were so good they would book every audition ....i would just marvel at them when they would dance..Paula is truly gifted...and legendary....
@@CuirPhotodotNet Wow so nice to hear that. She is indeed legendary. She opened the door for many other choreographers. There were many familiar faces in her video Knocked Out
After I saw this air for the first time on Idol 6 years ago, every day after school I would come home and play this on my computer and learn the dance. To this day I can remember small parts. This was Idol.
She is more than just a regular singer... She is a complete performer... No matter if she is not like Mariah Carey or Celine Dion ... she just rocks with her presence on-screen and on-stage!
Definitely talk about changing with the times . You can actually hear her singing and understand. Unlike today's music with i have no comprehension of . Lol . Love this track no doubt. Love & peace. Phil ❤❤
Alrighty for all you people hating on Paula. She stopped her career because she was in a plane crash in 1993 and had 12 surgeries and couldn't perform. Finally she simon medication and makes, her feel better. I am proud of her because she never gave up. So haters STFU
Paula Abdul inspired me to dance when I was growing up, and I think her choreography continues to be some of the best in the history of music videos. I will always be a true fan.
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor All i wanna do is dance like there no tomorrow Don't care about the sun light somebody please just hit the lights All I wanna do dance like there's no tomorrow
So here's the thing about Paula Abdul. She had a #1 hit with "Straight Up". Then she followed that up with a #1 hit with "Forever Your Girl". Then, just for shits and giggles, she had a #1 hit with "Cold Hearted". She took a temporary break from the top of the chart with "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me", which peaked at #3, but then she came back with "Opposites Attract", "Rush, Rush", and "The Promise Of A New Day", all of which ALSO were #1 hits. Michael Jackson & Katy Perry had five #1 hits from one album ("Bad" & "Teenage Dream" respectively), but Paula Abdul is one of only six artists who have had four #1 hits from one album (the others were Whitney Houston with "Whitney", George Michael with "Faith, Janet Jackson with "Rhythm Nation 1814", Mariah Carey with "Mariah Carey" and Usher with "Confessions", which is pretty damn impressive company). And that's just some of her accomplishments as a singer. As a dancer and choreographer, she blew the '80s/'90s away.
If it weren't for that damn accident! The history of music would have been very different. This is the difference between commercial success and artistic value. If Michael is the King of Pop, Paula A. is surely the Queen. To Quote Shania Twain "You're still the ONE"
I'm getting old ...as an OG Paula Abdul fan dating back to the 80s, when she put this one out I was so happy to see new music from her! This song was out back when I worked as a radio personality and it was one of the most requested songs on the station. Every time someone would request it, I'd pretty much jump for joy lol. Hard to believe I was in my mid-20s then.
You know, Paula is the best. She has been threw a lot, I really admire her for it. I love her, I really do. I miss Paula, I miss Simon! She had her own show, she had amazing songs and she's an incredible person, a great singer and one the best choreographer. I love her, I REALLY do. Thumbs up if you love Paula :)
Still watching this in 2018, can't believe it was released 10 years ago. Paula might not be one of those vocalists, she definitely has very good sense of rhythm and is definitely one of the best choreographer on this planet!
It was amazing to travel to Boston and experience a professional adult dance class at Jeanette Neils dance studio .I was so happy to be in a room with amazing teachers and I was so impressed with how quickly the students repeated the choreography. The choreography was to Paula Abdul’s Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow. 💃🕺♥️
Paula Abdul is such an amazing woman. There are such original people so very original that no one has ever been able to pull them down or even mimic their work. Paula is up there with Whitney and Mariah. The 👸
She still has it! Paula has allways been one of my faves. This is for all the detractors with all the negative input. Lets see how they look in their 50s
Paula is so Adorable. I think she looks better now then when she was younger!! She needs to go out with a BANG and make another album before it's to late
Paula is beyond talented. I like her songs but omg her choreography and dancing is incredible.... You can't beat Paula I mean she trained Janet Jackson who is known for her dancing. Paula is still gorgeous
Listened today because I randomly remembered funny seeing as its been nearly 10 years since release june 8 today and i was absolutely obsessed with paula at this point and listened to all her stuff and lost my mind when she released this i jammed so hard remembering all the words to a song I probably havent listened to in years just reminds me of happy times! So thanks Paula!
Anybody else realize that the scale that this uses, particularly in the verse, has a dark sound? It's that half step up that she takes in the verses. To me, this song has an exhausting type of feel... Not in a bad way. That's just the vibe that I get.
If theres any reason why I would wanna hear a new album from Paula even though she will be autotuned, is that her performances are still high class. Queen of choreography, Pula choreographs herself. JLO is choreographed although shes an amazing performer too. So please lets not knock Paula for her short lived pop success. It was short lived but 30 years later everyone still knows who Paula is.
So grateful Paula didn't fall for the trap that got MJ and Prince. We get old. Life, our bodies, say take it down a notch. Give the kids the tough stuff and sing your hearts out. We love you Paula. Life lessons. Ha, ha follow Cher too! No need to kill it on the dance floor. Just live well.
I really wish this choreography was iconic/known to the general public, enough to be parodied, meme-d and just liked in general because it's that good to me.
Paula Abdul School Of Choreography - Someone please explain why this does not exist.
I remember watching this air for the first time on American idol
Same here lol! I was 14 and thought it was catchy as hell

I was literally 8 years old and I was always obsessed with paula since i wad REALLY little and I remember this being EVERYTHING to me.

This song came out when I was in college and yes I just danced and I loved it!!! 🙌❤️🥰
Damn right!!
She did it again in 2019. Billboard Music Award.
Yet she still looks better than Jennifer Lopez

I so agree with you on that. She is definitely one of the best choreographers out there. Her style is distinctive and unique

... you must not be hearing the unbearable autotune...?
Philip Hayes theyve been using auto tuning ever since Janet Jackson!!
+Bailey Herbert They want it perfect yet they use autotune... Ironic!
i belive this was around the time she lost her voice which is why there was alot of auto tune used
And listen to that 👂🖐Nope... Too much of today's music to me 👎
You go Paula, solid music without cursing and vulgarity in this day in age!

But that's the thing. Mariah and Celine have their own lane and so does Paula and just like Mariah and Celine reign in their categories so does Paula.
OG American Idol was everything! I miss them.
I miss her. Loved her music back then. Love this song and video.
I wish Randy and Paula were still on Idol.................the show needs their personalities!
I wish they would just do more music together; they don't need idol for that.
