Tracie, I am HERE in May 2024. I could never get enough of your beautiful music..It keeps a mile on my face and I'm grateful I am from the best era on the planet 80s and 90s. Thank you gifting us with your talent. Blessed
mstoya wiggins You got that right- today's society sucks! Economy sucks, everyone hates each other, politicians bought and paid for by corporations....
+LaKesha N. Taylor It's relevant, but everything has changed in our society today. This is weird, we are hooked on this smart phones, we are insensitive, we lack empathy towards each other. No one speaks and shows common courtesy to each other...Everything is on VIDEO!!...it horrible....
+inquizative44 You are so right, when you look in the comments section of some youtube videos, you see people cursing each other out for what they feel is an unintellectual response. They have no respect for a person's veiw of any subject. No empathy, lacking sensitivity. A lot of times I just keep my thoughts to myself.
Kenneth Lamb On my way home, I'm riding on the subway and no one speaks to each other, 85% of the people are looking at their 'smart' phones. No common courtesy, no hello's, no have a good evening.....nothing. I grew up when people kindly greeted each each other, even if they didn't know each other. 'Common courtesy' was considered proper etiquette. Now if you try to say hello to a stranger, they look at you like your crazy or like your are going to rob them. It's insane how programmed we are.
+inquizative44 technology, Facebook, Twitter and the like are to blame in my opinion. People nowadays would rather acknowledge "friends" on Facebook rather than acknowledge the person sitting next to them. My wife and kids do Facebook and Twitter. The most I do is RUclips.
Never stopped loving this song. I feel like the industry didn't quite know what to do with her because she's incredibly underrated. I think she would have done well with Babyface or Narada Michael Walden or Jam & Lewis on production. There should have been duets with Tevin Campbell or Shanice.
Every producer in the 80s and 90s had their favourite young singers. Narada Michael Walden pushed Stacy Lattisaw & Shanice and Jam & Lewis had Janet Jackson and Quincy Jones pushed Tevin Campbell. Tracy S needed a different producer behind her.
@@matthewprince9705 and a different label. Capitol shelved her album Naturelle that was supposed to come out in 1994. She recorded the entire album and they shelved it she got discouraged and quit singing for 5 years. Its odd they didn’t drop her but she came back in 99 on the same label and dropped the very forgotten Tracie album. I agree she needed bigger producers Tracie like Shanice had great vocals and the it factor but their careers stalled. Shanice’s 1999 album was stellar and LaFace did not promote it at all.
How did I almost forget about this song?! I was born in the 70's, and grew up in the 80's and 90's. I remember Ms. Spencer very well. Today at random, "Symptoms of True Love" came to mind. I was like, "I wonder whatever happened to her? I had to come on and listen to a few of her tunes 🎶.
I randomly heard this at an outdoor restaurant, and it took me RIGHT back. What a fantastic song, and the message is still relevant. It may even be more relevant.
This tribal, desert motif was almost every video of the 90’s...Janet, Michael, En Vogue, Jasmine Guy-they all shot videos like this and I LIVED for all of it! Take me back to simpler times! I miss it! 😞
Traci was the bomb back then and STILL is ... in MY book! Wish the 80's and 90's would COME BACK cause those were the days of REAL MUSIC and meaning behind it! LOVE THIS SONG back in the day and STILL DO. Great beat! Love the video too. THIS HOUSE IS FOR THE PEOPLE!!!! ALL OF US!!!! God Bless us ALL!
She was only 14 here??? Btw she had producers, managers and people developing her talent...behind the scenes people are the ones making it happen. We all have talent but if it's unrealized it's just a tragedy. She was fortunate someone developed her talent
@Dahmer_Jeff: I saw her perform on Star-search back in '87 when she was 11, and this was before she was signed to Capitol Records in '88....she had the same stage presence u see presented in this video. Her family has a musical background, so her talents and how she presented herself came Naturally because her talents had already been developed. Of course, your PR people help guide you in the industry, but you have to be self-driven for the most part.
What powerful, true song. I still love this song. This is a much message that needed to be said. Straight Fire. This song will always be one of my favorites. Very uplifting inspiring song. I am definitely a Tracy Spencer Fan. She was very wise and talented from the beginning. 🙏👍🏽🌹👩👩❤️💚💙🔥🔥🔥🔥
I used to go to school in Brampton in '90-'92 and i'd hear this song and i loved it because of the message in it, i wish more songs were like this. I love this song because it talks about helping others in less fortunate situations and there should be more songs like this one.

Tracie Spencer was very popular worldwide. She was a great real music artist with an incredible amount of talent. She had a great singing voice. She was a real music artist that made real music. She was very popular in the Dance Pop music genre and R&B music genre. This song was a top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. She had some very big top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart and number one hits on the Billboard R&B music charts and some big top 10 hits on the Billboard Dance music charts. She toured all over the United States and around the world. She sold a few million albums. She never recorded any more albums after the 90s but her music will forever be loved and will forever live on with the Freestyle Dance music fans that used to party and dance to her music in the Freestyle Dance clubs of the 90s in places like New York, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco and San Jose.

Just started randomly singing this while cleaning my kitchen. Hadn’t heard it in probably 35 years! Was a favorite as a pre-teen. Had to come listen. Still remember every beautiful lyric!👏💖🎶
Takes me back to weekday mornings getting ready for school. Not a morning person even back then, this jam could get me rolling out of bed. I had a cd alarm clock that you could set the clock to play a track at a certain time..and many mornings, this was the jam that got me up and out of bed-and stumbled to the shower to wake up 🤣

I agree @JPer1973.
Loved this song! She was only a teenager and she carried herself with so much class.
This takes me to a happy place. Oh the 90's. She kept it CLASSY!
Besides real musical talent today, class is totally missing in the artist today. I don't call what we hear today as music, that would be too generous.
