Now that things are sort of back to normal on Thailand's islands I am able to see where I thing the best area to stay is on Koh Chang. Next time definitely staying at this beach!

That's funny. I was on Koh Chang almost exactly one year ago. Had lunch at Annie P's a couple of times. The owner was pretty cool, from the U.S. right? Good burgers. He was friends with the owner of Tigglebitties in Pattaya, pretty much my go to for Western food. I missed that whole section in Bang Bao because there was an elderly woman standing exactly where you were yelling at everyone and trying to charge 200 baht to go in there 😄. Lonely Beach was pretty much deserted. Gret vid. Thanks for bringing back some good memories 👌

My guess about those machine guns is that they are the relics from "Battle of Ko chang" which is the part of Franco-Thai War (1941).

Love how quiet Koh Chang is and not over run by tourists. Not sure if you saw the news recent that they had a fire down Lonely Beach street. Not sure about the amount of damage but it definitely burned a few of hose wooden buildings down the street.

I might be wrong but I as I remember the shrine is for a high rank person in the thai Navy. Think it's something written on a sign next where the stairs starts.

Visited Koh Chang in early October this year (2023). It was absolutely deserted, due to the rainy weather/off season. Most, not all, of the businesses seemed to be in disrepair and desperate. Still suffering the affects of the lockdown period. The islanders were very nice though. Felt bad for them, and gave large tips trying to help them out a bit. Reading The Thai Leaves on YT. 😊

Do you know that in sunny days , the UV risk factor to develop Skin cancer in Thailand is normally 12 over 12 ?. I would recommend wear some hat or protect from direct sun. I saw in your nose some red spot in a few videos already, be careful and try protect from the sun. I use to have something like that and it finish in a BCC.

I've been there 2 times. My go to Thai island. Went to the ghost ship last time around. Unreal. Have you had a chance to discover the other side/cost? So different. Enjoyed your vlog🍻

haha please ask the Thai government. Actually there is a "theoretical way" to get Thai citizenship. A German youtuber made a video about that. Takes many years. At the end of the process you have to sing Thai songs in perfect Thai in front of a jury. Go for it :)!
No, it makes getting residence easier.
Citizenship is near impossible they are very protective protective against being colonised by mass immigration a big reason why I would live there it will never be islamised.
