-The ones who think the series is dead

Decided to watch it because I found that the creators have been working for a long time, since 2015 and added in fan favourites transformation like Enchantix, Serinix and Butterflix. @@theoscarlessactress2748 Season 4 and 5 were actually pretty dark with the Pollution stuff, I just think of the Magic Pets are the weakest Addation to the Magic pets thing in Winx.
Just watched Ep and Ep 2. It great that it continues on from Butterflix But I really hate it. It so Onboisusly yes so S7 and watched it but After ep 2 - Which explored Fairgonda past I hooked plus I thought Roxy was going to have a bigger Role and I loved the Mini Worlds: The Leaf Mini World, The Water Mini World, The Diamond Mini World, ect. But no sorry. The pasting is just really weird to this one. The Winx are outside late at night (I presume they returned from World of Winx) and that why it so late, then they find a Lumen. They ask what is wrong but she can't remember as she so frighten and then decide to play to cheer her up, but rather than it being Nice Calming Music for her, they organise a Whole Contest and then the Bad Guys only attack at the end of the Contest, I loved it when the background Character thought it made it seem more like a reality School.
I do miss the edgier side of winx. It made it unique as a girl's show that can handle dark themes.
And the live action will be more darkar wirh drugs and other stuff.And idk how i feel about drugs in winx
LavenderX_X like,as-in either one of the characters came from a bad home life (such as with a parent/guardian and/or family member either suffering,dying and/or recovering from a bad drug addiction and was living/had grew up with this particular abuse problem) and/or-weirdly and disturbingly enough-there being an implication that one of the main Winx girls had to..turn to things like illegal sex work (prostitution,mainly) and/or drug dealing and addiction themselves before and/or during the series,but had to hide it (and their fairy-magic/otherworldly origins-here's looking at you Bloom,sweetheart) from everyone else in fear of getting caught by the respective authorities (Magic AND real-life) while she had to stay with one of the other girls..
Hmm,kinda-like a semi-gritty take on the fairy/coming of age drama they did in the OG series,but with a bit of a realistic yet-somehow-harsh tone in my opinion,I do believe?
Also,how are they gonna.. _y'know..like-Literally adapt the fairy-Winx powered forms (Wings,powers,transformations and all) into a live action setting without looking too cheap,ugly-looking or downright unpractical looking-barring THE FACT that if they actually TRANSFORM in this series,mind you? (And by "Too cheap/Ugly-looking",I mean as-in the instance that,when they change to Fairy form,the Winx should really not look like something ripped out of a bad/Crappy-looking CGI-fest and/or a supposedly notorious batch of bad live action adaptions of certain anime and /or cartoons and still make it look good/Respectful to the animated source material without looking too bad,honestly-mentioning that so.)_
Oh,and one more thing? _If I had one thing to hope for this Live action adaption/readapting of the/this series (if I were to ever see it in the flesh,in real life,honestly) ,hopefully they can hire both diverse actors and actresses in it,including Italian ones that are capable of speaking both Italian and English (essentially,multilingual Italians as part of the cast) so they could cut costs for dubbing to English (if it in it's country's native language of Italian,originally ) while still being dubbed in other languages for other foreign markets..although they'll have to film in BOTH Italian AND English (for the English-speaking countries' markets) back-to-back in-order for it to work,then dub/subtitle it in other languages much later on,so to speak.._

I wish they just made a reboot of the series in an adult way. With a consistent art style, no singing and dancing, but really using the potential this world has.

I just can't stand the season 8 animations and art style, it straight out sucks. I hate how they changed enchantix and tried to hide their body. I hate how they white washed aisha and flora. I basically hate everything about the new visuals. They ruined everything.
And I'm more than completely sick of Bloom being the center of everything now that her god damn kingdomn and parents are back.

While I dont see it (boys looking "like girls") as something bad, I don't like the change here. Their first designs were with us for 15 years, and suddenly they have new bodytype and faces (and huge heads).

@Fairhope Hippie not really if you look at the comparison of season 3 enchantix and season 8 enchantix you'll see that the animation for season 8 enchantix transformation is much slower then the season 3 enchantix transformation. All the animation is too clunky in season 8, not to mention the horrible art style.

In regards to the season 8 redesigns, I think the only character who comes off worse from them is Musa. Flora and Aisha just need to have their skin tones changes. Musa, however, has larger eyes and has lost anything about her that hinted to her "Asian" heritage. She now looks much more European.
But... Flora had narrower eyes too...

Ben Conners I think with musa they where probably going for an anime look since most female anime character unrealistic big eyes even though in real life asians then to have narrow eyes.( of course not all).
I just realized now that there are interracial relationships in Winx. I remember being shocked when I discovered some people dont like them. It was so normalized in Winx Club shocking how an animation series litterly helped me not to be racist.

dianna k i personally dont see anything wrong with halle bailey playing ariel as she has the voice and innocence however what i do agree with is that disney should just create new and more stories with black princesses ( like there are so many fairytales about black african princesses ) also didn’t see that much outrage when it was said zendaya would play ariel.... but yes it’s unfortunate that they basically made aisha an irish white girl with a tan smh...

Nickelodeon ruined THE show of my childhood (I'm Italian and was born in 01. Escaping Winx was not in the realm of possibility), and I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive them for it
then dont forgive nickelodeon but have hope for this new era the animation may not be everything but lets hope they have a good storyline
I agree. nikolodeon doesn't care about people anymore just money. They ruined spongebob too and are watering him down after Hillenburgs death

I feel you. I was born the same year, and Winx was my life. I had every episode, dolls, video game, blanket, diary, etc. I wanted to learn Italian because of Winx, and I do learning it now (not just because of Winx, but it was the first push). Winx Club ended season 3 for me. This is just a disgraceful parody.
Nickelodeon fucked with winx club aka my childhood so much it’s basically unrecognisable except for the characters. Shows that they only care about money. It sucks and they also whitewashed Layla/ Aisha.
Umm as a kid i stopped watching at season 5 because even too as a kid thought it was getting a bit childish and "cringy" to watch. I was like 9.
I stopped after I had finished season 6 because once I saw season 7 I was so disappointed that I didn't find it entertaining anymore.
In my country they only aired the first 4 seasons and then i searched up the series on youtube (nostalgia purposes lol) and i was so freaking confused when i saw how much the animation was different compared to when i used to watch it. Then i realised they are STILL continuing the series. I stopped watching the show mid-season 6 due to the major cringe. Cant believe nick is still continuing the show 😓😓

As an older fan who has seen the newer seasons, I like to pretend that season 4-8 never happened and everything concluded in the 2nd winx club movie. Everything that happens from 4-8 to me is just other parallel dimensions and stuff. The real story ending is within the films 😔
Same! Ive been a winx fan since 3-4 years old (I have good memory) and S4-8 is just doing bad. It became very boring
BIBIXGIRL uh... to me season 4 was pretty good storywise and had actual substance, humor etc. compared to the later seasons, *but then again* enchantix was supposed to be their last and final fairy form...so ehh.
tsuyu asui I like Season 4. It’s just that after Nabu died things started going down hill for me. I mean they say he isn’t dead but instead he was just in a cursed sleep, and then from then on they say he’s dead and Aisha has guys with lackluster personalities. Then there’s the whole thing with the art design changes and pointless plot points. The movies at least keep it consistent and give the series a worthy and satisfying ending(not to mention that Nabu is still alive in them)

I'd be very interested in getting your take on each character, their backstories, their relationships with each other and with their partners. I know you have somewhat covered this, but it would be cool if you went into detail regarding what do you consider to be the shows strongest points in each season, like what exactly had made the show popular with older viewers.

@Winx Forever Good for you and your opinion. The point is, there are rarely ever any darker skinned magical girls. And when they are they get lightened like Flora, Aisha, Sailor Pluto, etc... It sends a message that lighter skin are more beautiful than darker skin. There is a F**ked up narrative that white viewers feel characters with darker skin aren't relatable. Which is complete BS. The younger audience deserves to see themselves reflected in this medium for it's positive impact and reinforcement...not have that taken away from them. The Winx used to be incredibly diverse in looks and personalities and they got along. That's a beautiful message. Stripping away most of the ethnic features, leaning more white, and dressing them in similar styles feels like a departure from the amazing message that the series was founded on.

Stella's name literally means Star, so I'm not sure what your point is exactly? Cosmix isn't named after anyone!

They're trying to bring their older audience back after they released how much people are leaving the fandom, aren't they? Imagine being 6 years old watching Winx Club season 8 and all of the sudden its 16+.

This documentary series was definitely worth the watch. Thank you so much for putting time into this because it provided all of us with much more summarised information. I hope the show continues to brighten up slowly because it's currently in a very dark stage :(

There is actually a live action series of Winx Club also by Netflix coming out 2020 aimed at 16+ teens/young adults. It's supposed to got a darker theme so I'm hopeful that this series will be better than what we've seen recently

that was my childhood, i watched it every saturday morning from season 1 to season 3
I watched the first three seasons when I was about 12-13 years old. Now as a 23-year-old, it feels like I'm the only person my age still remembers this show and who has genuine affection for it. It honestly sucks to see how badly Nickoledeon damaged the brand. Imagine what could have been if they followed the trajectory Rainbow S.r.L. had set out with the characters slowly maturing and encountering more complex themes! I'm intrigued by the World of Winx series. But I'm very put off by the new animation style and the change in continuity.
I have to admit that yes Season 8 with their new designs is a bit strange and might feel like it’s aimed mainly for children, but I think the story more than makes up for it because it does it’s best to try and go back to its original story roots and how it all began. I am really glad they are putting more effort with season 8!

This is really sad to hear, at least for me anyways. Now, I haven’t seen the show in while now, due to my family not having cable (bc they are jerks), but this really hurts my heart. Lately bigger companies have favoring really younger crowds lately, and I really don’t like it. Right now, it’s more apparent than ever: They really just want to sell merchandise, which sad to hear because more and more American cartoons and shows are becoming really, really baby-ish and sheltered, which sucks for not only older viewers, younger audiences as well. It’s also missing that heart and soul that more gritter cartoons had well. You could just tell by every scene that played that it was just oozing with passion and heart. Now, that’s missing from shows, as they all aim to sell merch and nothing more. It’s sad to hear that this especially this shows is taking that softer tone to it, as it really hasn’t been one to shy away from more gritter writing. Plus as a kid, I was amazed on just how much they could away with in kid shows.
Plus as a child, I loved the more darker, more gritter cartoons, as they dealt with more serious issues, and prepared me for the harder sides of life, and taught me how to deal with them. Plus as a child, it’s nice to see your favorite characters go through the hard stuff because if you go through something similar, you know that you can get through it because your favorite characters did too. You have buddies that have been through the same, if not worse, and that gives you strength to get through whatever your going through, big or small. Plus, you have a general idea on what to do, and don’t just freakout at slightest of hardships. It was also generally more entertaining and engaging as well; and since is was animated (and I had strict Christian parents) I got away with seeing some pretty heavy stuff. They just assumed since it was animated, it was harmless. I’m sad to hear that the main Winx cannon is becoming the way it is, and I hope it goes back to its roots for Season 9.
I really enjoyed this series and was extremely surprised when you first told us about this documentary series. I honestly thought that Winx Club had basically died and I was just revisiting my one of my childhood's graves when you announced that you would be covering the show. I really like World of Winx and I hope it doesn't get cancelled. I'm still waiting for the English dub of season 8.
I may not be that same little girl that would scream her head of everytime Winx came on TV but I'm really grateful that you covered this show. Thank you, I really mean it.
Perhaps as a reminder that even the darkest of people were once innocent and carefree, I plan on watching every episode and movie of Winx that I can.
a channel called MagixJourney has the season 8 english episodes up now well at least the ones that have aired in Turkey. I do believe that the channel WinxClubEnglish has most if not all the seasons in English and the movies.
@@jei-has-thoughts I've been looking through both channel's videos and I don't see any season 8 episodes. I did find some movies which I'll watch later. I think the season 8 episodes might have been taken down which is very unfortunate but I guess I'll just have to find another way.

It’s just a lot of non-black/non-poc ppl always use the “it’s a pastel color palette!” excuse when it comes to lightening skin color. Skin color cannot be “pastel” they are TONES. Like are y’all saying darker skin can’t fit a “pastel” color scheme? Bc that’s not true. And lightening/whitewashing darker skinned characters is plain colorism, no matter if it was intentional or not. Pastel often equals soft and pretty and if you have to make skin tones lighter to fit those concepts then you’re further perpetuating that lighter skin is prettier than darker skin. I don’t expect y’all non-brownskinned ppl to get it. Because at the end of the day that representation doesn’t affect you as much as us. But it’s really annoying and dismissive when y’all keep defending white washing, once again whether it was intentional or not, but saying artists HAD to lighten someone’s skin tone to fit a pastel color palette
Edit: also I don’t have time to argue with ppl under here bc I’ve already done my fair share of that, and would like to not have ppl say colorist or racist things to me. I’m just expressing my frustrations about an issue I’m pretty passionate about. You don’t have to agree but I ain’t changing my mind.

Honestly i think that would be more interesting than season 5 and 7 so i’ll take that idea ! Cause we know nothing about Riven and Brandon though Riven was abandoned apparently in wikipedia and Brandon is poor so i’m really curious
World of Winx bothers me because there’s a lot about it I like: the animation, the occasional artistic use of their powers and the more actiony feel for some but I can’t stand the plain exposition and standing around doing nothing. The show spent the first 4 seasons showing me how powerful bloom was but then she doesn’t use it and instead stands around getting captured, it grinds my gears. Still miles better than S7.
S8 I don’t think I’ll ever watch purely because the baby art style (specifically on the boys) isn’t a good look.
Also I guess I’m the only one who liked 6 over 7. I simply just couldn’t even finish S7, it was a chore. 6 I feel started off semi okay for the first few episodes and bloomix was a 👌🏻 transformation.
Meh... I just wanna the live action. I've kinda lost my interest for Season 8. Nothing against the artstyle, because the actual problem of this season is the plot and the poor effort they put into it.
Omnia Productions ı think plot is better than season 5,6 and 7. And ı think they put much effort to the artstyle clothes and the backgrounds this season. At least they dont move like puppets this season. Animation is very smooth

Ngl, the Cosmix transformation song is the most fire thing to come out of Season 8. The art style doesn’t really bother me that much.

Yep Nick definitely ruined the essence of the series. Season 5 & 6 had amazing trailers but were a let down. Season 7 had a childish trailer but I honestly didn't mind the actual season 7. The Trix were also back to be being more a threat when they returned. However, now that Nick isn't apart of Winx Club, Rainbow has still manage to lose their mind. The art style in season 8 hopefully doesn't return next season. If it does return the need to at least make the characters appear older, and of course fix Aisha and Flora's skin tone. As for World of Winx I hope they give us a season 3, because I hate when I show ends on a cliffhanger. Oh and you forgot to mention that a live-action series is supposed to debut on Netflix sometime next year.

For me only season 1 and 4 are good,the rest I don't really want to talk about 😅,and also If they had animated season 8 like the World of Winx (Netflix) and also made history mature like the 3rd and 4th season, it would have been the return of the winx, a new golden age, but no they made it nian-nian, with pink everywhere and weird stuff
I'm so confused about Aisha's live life though. Like, I get that her first love died. But then Roy, I think, got involved with her. Then he vanished overnight even though his character arc was a love rivalry between him and the other guy. Unless I missed something, that makes no sense.

I really hope they just do a reboot of the series soon. So many drastic changes has been so confusing over the years. The whole Aisha/Layla thing, voice actor changes (couldn't really be helped, I know), the huge animation changes, and the show changing from being a very deep, lore filled adventure to what feels like a shallow, fashion focused young kids show. It's a shadow of its former self and I can only hope that a reboot might help. At least the world of winx was closer to its roots than the last few seasons, so even if there isn't a reboot in sight I still have hope for more meaningful, deep seasons.
Maybe a soft reboot with an all new cast would work? Like that way it can be it’s own thing

Even if the later season kid-ified aspects of them the so called "original story" of season 1-3 had amazing character moments and growth. I honestly can’t with season seven and eight!! I mean Flora hit puberty in season 7. She gets moody and becomes a general bish to her bf. She’s my favourite yet as always we’re stuck with bratty bloom who gets everything handed to her. Don’t even remind me about how they took away all their power with butterflix.

It would be great if the company switched the demographics again to match the older generation by having a villian that was secretly and passively dealing them and having the winx group come to realize it when Bloom has a small fight with her adoptive family to which they printout out how childish they have been getting over the years. You know to make up for the awful blunders of season 5 and 6, along with the slow going changes in 7 and 8.
I am so excited for season 8. I'm waiting for it to come out here in the states before watching,aside from the clips the official yt channel has released. I like what I've seen so far and I hope the series does well!

i may be over a year late to this documentary series, but it was really refreshing to see- bringing back a great amount of nostalgia for seasons 1-4 (the only ones i watched tbh) in all their iterations. once a young girl and now a man in my twenties, winx club still holds a special place in my heart and i think ill be following its journey for a long time

The spin-off World of Winx series is a lot different from the normal Winx Club series and season 1 is alright but as for season 2 there's too many loop holes because originally they were searching for Peter Pan during the episodes but they never have or explain what has happen to him. So they abandon that misson and focus on training his son Matt Barrie to save the world of dream and turn Twinkle Bell back into the good fairy again. However in the final episode of World of Winx season 2 they left a cliffhangers which doesn't make sense and why since the serie will never return again.
Winx Club Season 8 is good but a little different from nickelodeon drawing design characters and there's too many loop hole in the story. First Valtor allied with Queen Dorana's brother and then later in episode 14 he allied with the Trix again trying to gather the wishing star. I also felt that season 8 is left unfinished to the story like Icy's Kingdom and her sister Sapphire who is still the white fox sadly, the writers abandon that plot line which I feel that it isn't right. Another issue with the writers story lines in Winx Club Season 8 is few characters appear half way and never been seen again like Orion who was never been seem again after episode 13, as for Diaspro last time we saw her was back in season 6 and suddenly dissappeared after episode 6 which doesn't make sense since she had allied herself with the Trix in the first place. And now she reappeared in season 8 who is trying to get Sky back by tricking him to go on her Eracklyon misson but failed and then left at the beginning of episode 19 which doesn't make any sense either. If you asked me the writers should have think through the story line very carefully before releasing.

You know what would be nice , after season 3 , the girls using their guardian fairy position and actually protecting the magical realm against some REAL threats even more dangerous than trix season 1 or valtore , basically like thanos in much that powerfull and the girls having trouble beating the villian, and it having a season or two build up to it , like actual story telling , forcing Everyone to come together
