A representative from Nickelodeon has informed me that someone has been using their own email address with the name "Unicorn of War" to send death threats to Nick employees over the Winx Club franchise.
Do I even need to say do not do this?
I'll say it anyway.

I'm giving this person an ultimatum to stop and terminate their email or having them reported. I wanna make it clear that while I may hyperbolize about the franchise's history, animosity towards Nick as a company and ESPECIALLY its employees, is unacceptable and reprehensible.

I feel we shouldn’t feel ashamed of liking this series. Sure there are better shows but we were little girls watching badass cool friends kicking villains in the butt... And it’s a kids show. I know the stereotype of pinky magic kinda makes us feel embarrassed. But it’s still a quite good children’s show who had basic good values, silly laughs and we had fun ❤️ it doesn’t have to be super deep or dark to make us prouder of it. Love this as a series, can’t wait to watch more!
My thing was W.I.T.C.H, definitely but Winx concept was pretty cool, and I really liked the red head’s backstory ^^ I forgot her name, Bloom? Haha

The voice actresses were so professional, for a few seconds I thought this was a clip from an actual dub production. I certainly wouldn't know, I never watched anything past season 3, or anything made with CG. Sure, the voices weren't what I remembered, but I know that the production has always been a mess with that.

They even dropped at like season 4. The idea of Stella's ring begin her source of power. Which was stated in season 1 when she got kidnapped by trix.

Winx club and W.I.T.C.H. both were some of the shows that I remember being a staple in my growing years. They sit along side other shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Scooby doo, and Code Lyoko. While some taught me a thing or two, others helped me figure myself out. Winx Club and W.I.T.C.H. not only got me into foreign shows as a kid, but also helped me figure out that I was a suuuuper big lesbian.

I still find myself going back to binge seasons 1-3. These were the best seasons of Winx Club, in my opinion and ever since season 4 aired, I saw the series go downhill, and oh lord when nickelodeon took the reins. I enjoyed World of Winx and am genuinely curious to see season 8.

In my opinion seasons 1-5 were the best, all the other ones can go fuck themselves. Enchantix, Harmonix and Sirenix are easily my top three favorite transformations

My gay ass childhood, Tecna and musa where my favorites, also as someone who grew up in Latin America I always wondered how even though it is a lot more conservative than north America none of our shows where ever censored not even the LGBT stuff in sailor moon and sakura card captor, I recommend to anyone who can understand Spanish to check out the Latin American dubs because they are really good in this series and many others

I am not gay (and even don't like Winx so much) and still Tecna is my favorite (and Flora). I suspect Tecna is just great. Too bad they got rid of her in live action Netflix series.
I grew up in Colombia and like with the Spanish Dub so that was fun~ the spanish dub was just golden lmao

I stopped watching after the ocean season as it seemed it went off canon with the girls abandoning that whole "Hey let's build our new adult life here on earth." But now I think I should watch the original Italian version with English subs instead

Story is still the same because Rai made the mistake of teaming up with Nick for story content and not just dub.

In Belgium and the Netherlands winx club has always been aired on Nickelodeon. But thank god the dutch dub was fully based on the Italian version.

When I was first exposed to Winx club as a kid, it was the 4kids version, and I HATED it. Who knew that re-dubbing stuff could ruin it so well? Because only a few years later I caught a glimpse of the original dubbing, (but I didn't know it at the time) and actually enjoyed it. The girls had believable personality & a well structured story. I re-watch sometimes even as an adult.

I saw the third and fourth season in megavideo when i was in my first grade of secundary school.
Hi from Russia! Winx Club was HUGE there when I was a kid. I remember how, before getting an internet connection (around 2009...ish...), I used to sit close to TV with my phone ready, so I could record songs in the show. Sometimes I would specifically hunt re-runs so I could catch a part of an in-episode song that I missed.

It's pretty weird seeing this series being a weird fever dream for other countries when in Italy is pratically the legendary cartoon of the 2000's kids lmao
I really, really appreciate the work you put into this series. Finding fact about The Winx Club is not an easy thing, and I can tell not only how researched this is but how much you care about this show.
I remember s1-3 for having dialogues and clashes amongst the girls and their different personalities, as the Trix being evil but still “human” and “flawed”, for the powers to be less generic than energy balls, and for Bloom not always being the perfect leader.
I would say while S6 is weak, I appreciate Bloomix as the last well animated transformation sequence. Cosmix is well animated but short and lacks individuality per girl. Anything in between feels generic and too reliant on Flash.
I hope you continue doing this series. Thank you so much again.
Seasons 1-3 are my faves!!! This show was my everything to my and my character was bloom but hell I was a mix of all the winx!!!

Nah. The target was originally 8-12 (I think) so if you want to be able to watch winx club in the 2000’s, you’ll have to be 26/27 today.

Italian version:
Bloom: what could have caused all of this?
Stella (Darcy in disguise): hem-hem. you would do better by asking *who* did all of this.
Bloom: Stella, it was you? why?
there are plenty of examples like this. but the absolute worst translation line that i ever heard is from the 2nd movie when the girls get thir powers back. it goes like this:
Italian:
Stella: you know what, Trix? i feel much better!
All Winx: We all feel much better!
-Believiiix ... na na na
English:
Stella: getting our powers back? almost better than shopping! (puke)
All Winx: We're back and we're better than ever!

5:16 Prezzèmolo (yeah the stress goes on the second e, and it means "parsley") is actually the mascot of Italy's biggest amusement park, Gardaland. I don't think it was created by Rainbow, they just made an animated series with him as the protagonist.
The controversy involving anorexia confused me because cartoons have religiously weird and bizarre anatomy. Triangle shaped heads. rounded lips, bean heads etc.
Yeah, that really annoys me too. Shows can have the weirdest art style and be fine but oh no how dare winx club be stylised. I remember a channel calling winx club one of the worst cartoons I think in Italy because of the skinny art style. That really annoyed me because instead of actually commenting on some legitimate issues of the show, like how nick basically ruined it he insteads pokes fun at an actually nice art style.

I really liked your video. I'm Italian and I wanted to say if someone was curious ( but I don't think so ) that Prezzemolo was and still is now the mascotte of the amusement park Gardaland in the north of Italy and for reaching as many people as possible and for the young kids they created an animated series. Also in line for tickets and some attractions there were ( I don't know if even now) some television that showed the episodes.
P.s. yea it was a little weird as a cartoon especially since Prezzemolo's favorite food was pizza with strawberries on but it was a fun show

As an Italian girl, I can provide some fun facts.
1. Prezzemolo actually means 'Parsley' (I guess that's the reason why the dragon is green). And it's the mascot of a famous Italian Theme Park!
2. Winx originally aired on Rai 2 ALONE, since at the time there were no kids theme channels. Since Rai 2 is the state television channel and the second channel to ever be created, it was a huge deal. Basically, any kid knew Winx and their airing dates.
3. Even though I LOVE Elisa's voice, she is not that famous at all in Italy! There is an Italian singer, called Cristina d'Avena, who started their career in a freaking kids' song show. And no, I don't mean a talent show. The kids were really bad singers and originally the songs themselves were the actual contestants. Anyway, she was the voice behind the opening songs of basically any iconic cartoon show that has ever arrived on Italian television.
Besides that, I am really sorry to hear the American dub changed so much from the original script. They worked really hard not the make the characters too stereotypical (especially Tecna) in the first seasons.
Didn't Cristina D'Vena also do songs for another forgotten magical girl show called Principesse Sirene aka Mermaid Melody?
Yeah, I remember The Winx Club... and Fox making Italian, Japanese, Danish, Canadian Cartoon Characters sing America’s National Anthem...
But Winx Club was kinda cute when it was on TV, I had no idea it was Italian till a few years ago.
I was obsessed back then and I still adore it. I watched season 4 in Italian and without subtitles when it dropped 10 years ago and I learned the lyrics of the OP in Italian, French and English. Finna watch it again for the 475378th time

Honestly , I think is was better in French because when I saw it in English I thought to myself : « What the hell happened???? »

I'm from Croatia and I've watched it in Croatian during all the way into my preteens.
My favourite was Flora as I was an introverted kid so I could relate tp her. Also back than I LOVED earth/plant povers.
I might rewatch it but in english. Am a bit afraid to hear their voices in croatian as dubbung can be quite bad for everythibg other than big-budget feature films by desney and dreamworks.

That was fun! WINX was always a guilty pleasure show that I watched well into adulthood without having any idea why I liked it (probably it was just pretty to look at, but parts of it were a lot of fun). As someone who went hunting for dubs for a while before giving up and deciding that it was never completed, I appreciate that you took the time to put everything from the vocal buffet all on one plate for us. It was such a weird combination of Barbie, Disney Princess, and I don't know Dora the Explorer? That I was always paying some attention when I saw bits and pieces of it.

I live in Southeast Asia (Indonesia specificallyl) and in 2010 til 2011 the cinelume dub aired on Cartoon Network and a channel called Boomerang which showed seasons 1 til 4. So Singapore wasn't the only one that aired the cinelume dub.
Chaeyoung's nonexistent lines same her in Australia, i grew up with the cinelume version on boomerang, and the 4kids version on RUclips
I think the reason why they said only Singapore got it is because okto is a Singaporean channel while Cartoon Network and Boomerang are both American.
I used to love Winx Club, especially Bloom, so much! Now I rarely ever watch it and it's only because I never saw past season 3 *cough 4k!D's cough*

I always felt wrong for watching but it just kept me captivated for some reason now I don’t regret watching it I’m just surprised it’s still going

Fatema Yesmin season 5 was awful! The 4kids version I grew up with was the best, my favorite season is 3, season 3 was more organized and a lot better

I reccomend Winx Club premiering on the fox box. Watched it every week. After season 4, I think Winx Club should've ended.

Oh man, Winx Club. If I'm right, the Dutch Dub was based on the Italian version (or at least, according to Wikipedia and I remember seeing the RAI logo in the intros and having the same song, but in dutch). It used to be quite the guilty pleasure (especially since you'd get shamed for it watching it as a male viewer), but I rather liked the show. I did kinda stop watching after Season 3, cause I believe it did take some time for more seasons to air and I just sorta stopped following the series. One of my friends is still into the show and I do see bits of the newer stuff here and there. I'm pretty interested in this series, though. It is part of my childhood and the interest for the series never really faded (even if that interest is very far in the back of my mind).

This was a good video and it was finally nice to see someone doing a somewhat professional video on the series and it being well researched. I've been wanting to do a similar project myself but, more in the style of Linkara's History of Power Rangers, if I ever get the time and motivation to actually research and write the script.
