You're still not safe after you get married. In fact that's probably even worse. There's endless cases of wives divorcing their husbands right after he's paid off her student loan debt just to name one. Then on top of it she can hit you with alimony, child support, etc.
I think the old boyfriend should have paid for the dental work. Andy wouldn't have done this if he was not going to marry the woman. The old boyfriend received the benefit of this and if she did not this at this time she sure would eventually. Anyway I hope they would have a happy honeymoon.
joe - this is the type of case you see on Judge Judy. It would be the honorable thing for the new fiancé to pay, but the burden would fall on the woman. Andy paid for the dental work in anticipation of marrying the girl. If she was gainfully employed, I believe the judge would make her pay him back.
Well that heavy dialect is what whites use to mock blacks. See howard stern. He does a king fish imitation and I don't think it's a compliment. Hate is rising. Not surprised people don't have a problem with it.

I like Amos. He's the voice of reason and common sense.
She couldn't have pulled that stunt today. $400 is about $1200 today. Anyway Amos basically talked him into it
She pulled that off to court we go. A n.a after all these years. Still a classic wholesome show.
My favorite Calhoun.

I can't think of another group of actors today that could have pulled off this script so well.
This is a unique episode where the Kingfish didn't try to swindle money out of Andy.
