“Arabia” Season 2, Episode 7, aired 2 October 1952. Alvin Childress as Amos, Spencer Williams (Jr.) as Andy, Tim Moore as Kingfish, Ernestine Wade as Sapphire, Johnny Lee as Calhoun, Nick Stewart (as Nick O'Demus) as Lightnin', Rosalind Hayes as La Chiquita, Syd Saylor as Uniformed Man, Vince Townsend as the Landlord.
When was the last year that new episodes of this show were made? I believe it was taken off the air in 1961 under pressure from the NAACP. Glad to find it on RUclips.
@@maldijaili6799 I believe the last syndication/rerun episodes were 1966, i was so sad when the naacp got this great show canceled, my parents and grandparents loved it so much. The naacp needs to check itself. Ruining it for the people it's suppose to be helping.
24:20 I suppose it was decided that it was a lot safer to have Kingfish holding an acetylene torch than an arc welder (which is what would really be used to weld a pipe).
Sapphire was firecracker hot, she did one episode where she sported a strapless evening gown, absolutely stunning. It was the episode where she was calling herself dating Andy for dinner to make Kingfish jealous.
La Chiquita !?? 😂😂😂😂 🤦♂️ they sure played on the ignorance of ppl 😂😂😂 Who the hell would be friends with the Kid by Fish after one week!? Show was well written & acted..however as a Black man i still don’t like Andy’s character being in Black face
This is a wonderful show. If you need a good laugh this will do it !
Excellent writing and acting throughout the cast, just hilarious!
Nothing better than a good game of shovelboard to start the day!
It was hilarious how those shovels, caught Andy's attention immediately. Lol.
Babaloo. Lol. Was that before Ricky Ricardo. Lol.
I grew up on these shows.
Amos tries to explain .....Andy, nobody goes to Arabia on vacation, it's 140 degrees! This episode was another hilarious gem!

Hello, the last episodes were made in 1955.
I believe the reruns/syndications we're on into 1966.

Hello,
The last year for new episodes was 1955.
I believe they were rerun and in syndication until 1966.
Why would the NAACP care about this show?

I remember seeing this show in the afternoons back in the late 50's early sixties perhaps. Like I Love Lucy, it was in syndication at the time.
3:47 what time capsule. Saudia Arabia has been recruiting foreign workers to work it's oil fields for decades.
Gotta love king fish. American classic
The lady who was flirting with Andy was very beautiful.
T V at it's BEST

Back door? Was landlord out on fire escape?
I don't know about y'all, but sapphire is hot to me.

I looked him up, and it says Spencer Williams was an African American actor. Am I missing something?
