Watching Amos N Andy was a family affair. These were the most skilled and professional actors ever, they gave us pure enjoyment and laughter. We grew up with other greats like the Little Rascals, Abbott and Costello, Laura 😢😮and Hardy, Red Skelton, Sid Ceasar, and so many more. The comedy of the 50s and 60s were the greatest.
'Now lookie here Calhoun, if you don't stop smirkin' when I tells you that I loves you, them teeth of yours is gon be smilin at me from the other side the room' Kingfish's dialogue is perfect. What an awesome show. I watch it all the time and it never gets old
Why do those qualities matter? Comedy is subjective and all but just because something had a word you don’t like or touches a subject you find “foul” dosnt lent make family friendly comedy better or more worthwhile. They both have their merit individually. I always get a solid laugh from these comments as if these people are free from flaws or something and too precious to hear a naughty word. While this is funny nothing about it is knee slapping or going to make double over in laughter which is kind of the pint of a comedy right?
I always loved this show - those guys are such fun. And truly, they remind me of the series "The Honeymooners." I miss those sweet days. Thanks for the years of entertainment.
“Kingfish's Last Friend” Season 1, Episode 14, aired 27 Sep. 1951. Alvin Childress as Amos, Spencer Williams (Jr.) as Andy, Tim Moore as Kingfish, Ernestine Wade as Sapphire, Johnny Lee as Calhoun, Nick Stewart (as Nick O'Demus) as Lightnin', Gene Roth as the Steamship Officer.
OMG, these were fantastically talented actors and actresses. I only wish they had been appreciated during their time, and were able to make many more episodes.
That man was truly a comedian in his own right ! He was a very funny actor and his character was well-played and hilarious!🌞. Awesome show and episode!
@@Shadobanned4life Here is a movie Tim Moore starred in before playing the Kingfish. The title of that comedy movie is "Boy, What a Girl!" Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/sPoha5O-khk/видео.html
Yes indeed. Most of these episodes have a lesson hidden in them somewhere. The gist of many of the lessons are that it would have been much much-easier,cheaper,better etc to do things RIGHT,from the get-go. Kingfish usually ends-up cheating himself in the end because usually several people are mad at him at any given time. Nothing is really learned from any of Kingfish's debacles, his friends and family continue to indulge in his schemes, and the Kingfish continues to pull his scams and flim-flams. If they smartened-up there would be no show!
Kingfish mentions "the Alaskan government." He didn't refer to Alaska as a state because this episode was filmed eight years and four months before Alaska was admitted into the union.
Like me, you must be old enough to remember that fact. If you are not old enough, but researched it, my friends will not believe someone young either knew or researched that fact!
@Kenneth Britton Hello, Sorry to disappoint you but if you want to see examples of Tim Moore's handwriting you'll have to look online. I've seen his handwriting enough times that I recognize it now.
Husband and wives slept in different beds, the censors and editors wanted to project a wholesome image , everything wasn't hypersexualized. Twerking and closeted queens taking the plot to never never land. It was wholesome, the entire family could sit and enjoy. Alice/Ralph,Rob/Laura,Ricky/Lucy=it was wholesome television.
Professional actors.....good people...the best written scripts.....thank you Amos and Andy actors and professional stage/tv people...

Wonderful videos.
If any black and white TV show or movie that will make me feel better, it's Amos & Andy.
I always loved this show - those guys are such fun. And truly, they remind me of the series "The Honeymooners." I miss those sweet days. Thanks for the years of entertainment.
Some of the best comedy shows of all time 😅😅👍👍nothing but good clean family oriented comedy preformed by great actors and actress 👍

Another great episode. Even Amos belted the Kingfish good. And Calhoun lol.

I would 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ run home after school to watch the show. I'd eat pie a la mode and watch it. Rollin with 😃 laughter!
In the words of Kingfish, " me and my conscience have an agreement, it don't bother me and I don't bother it." Lol!

I love you, kingfish.
I always thought Sapphire was kinda mean to the king fish
she was a total beeyotch. and her mammy was worse. kingfish was a nice guy. he seemed to really love sapphire too.
There's a very good moral to this..... appreciate the ones you love while they're with you and treat them right.

Well, the Kingfish finally came out on top !
Classic Comedy. Sheer professionals, all.

Lt Baker kingfish with all the money.😂
One of the most hilarious episodes of the many I've seen. You have to admit with All the Kingfish's faults, he does have very good penmanship (16:46).
Maybe his best quality lol.

Everytime he starts singing it cracks me up!
Another talent that Kingfish had is not just busting out and laughing at himself as he is performing! What a comic!
If the stock was worthless then kingfish should have just given the $$ back to Andy - no need to beg Andy for worthless pieces of paper.
This shi$ was funny as hell. Love does hurt.

I love the show . Not one time does any of the cast members say the N word.
...or use any racial overtones for that matter. Great television.
Nothing about race, creed, or color, just having fun.
My Vote Go's To Andy
Unfortunately in a few short years, he really was laid up & dying....🥀
I believe Tim Moore died in late1958.
The show should've been called the kingfish
Back then $200 [US] could have been several weeks wages for that era, as that equates to near $2,300 in 2024 dollars.
Wow Kingfish was awesome
Amos and andy. Google Can
