Fine actors!! Great humor! Clean, intelligent, positive. This is genuine entertainment. I though I saw all of them when I was a boy, but looks like I missed a few. The world needs a LOT more of this.
Ernestine Wade was a very talented and attractive woman. Too bad she didn't have more opportunities to succeed in her career due to the prevailing racism of the day.
“The Winslow Woman” Season 1, Episode 8, aired 16 August 1951. Alvin Childress as Amos, Spencer Williams (Jr.) as Andy, Tim Moore as Kingfish, Ernestine Wade as Sapphire, Johnny Lee as Calhoun, Nick Stewart (as Nick O'Demus) as Lightnin', Amanda Randolph as Mamma, Willa Pearl Curtis as Mrs. Elizabeth Winslow, and Bill Walker as Winslow.
These ensemble actors have created a comedy show that is timeless. No matter how down in the dumps one is, these shows will have one laughing, and for a while, forgetting your troubles. Sincerely Bobbie.
real racist haters manipulated the naacp. look, young person: they just killed Aunt Jemima Uncle Ben... a few "sports" featuring aboriginal anerican simbols...
I always have loved that show from my young childhood. I can compare them to Laural and Hardy in that the two duos play the naive effortlessly but their comic genius excels,
Especially since Hamburg is in Germany not Austria 😂 but meeting a black Austrian Baron who doesn’t speak German & has an American accent is like meeting a 3 legged octopus. She must know that they’re trying con her
Amos was always the voice of reason

Black people knew we didn’t behave this way, I think they were comic geniuses . Funnier than the 3 Stooges

That scene in Andy's room just had to come from one of Tim Moore's vaudeville skits. Brilliant.

he remained that way -: just saw a documentary.
In the courtroom scene in “To Kill a Mockingbird” (1962), Bill Walker (Mr. Winslow) delivered one of Hollywood’s most effective and lapidarian lines.
Man of the house

Racism is so evil, we are one race. God loves all the colors he made and we should too.
