Perk 1: As a Marine crossing deck, you're still going through advanced schools and MOS schools, no matter what branch you switch too. lmao Perk 2: In LA and out in bars, people fight Marines just to say they beat a Marines ass. On deployments, locals are more likely to rob you or steal your data just because they know you're a Marine by miles away from that goofy high fade. Perk 3: Uniforms are cool until you realized you paid for all of it, plus paid for the event/drinks and transportation to the ball. 20 dollars for a medal is crazy upcharge lmao. Perk 4: Nobody really cares in the real world besides at frats in college. The only time your stories will matter is at parties or with other cult members. Perk 5: So does everybody else lmao. Perk 6: Not everyones having kids. Being scary isn't even a flex, nobody whose an adult thinks being scary is cool lmao. Perk 7: Literally a cult mentality. If I'm always a Marine, why with all the corporate paperwork that states that I am in fact, a civilian now? Perk 8: There are some messed up dudes out there, just being a Marine once doesn't automatically earn trust. Marines steal from Marines while we're in the service, no difference out in the real world. lmao "gear adrift is a gift" I trust Marines less than I trust homeless people.

27years of age. My Target mos is aviation support systems and ordinance. My target date for bootcamp is set in October. I’m just waiting on extra paperwork to be processed due to needing a waiver as I was denied at meps. I am honestly eager and Can't wait to get started on life’s new journey..
Pretty late here, just decided to enlist active duty at 28years of age…a month before hitting 29 so no waiver. Leaving next Monday (May 6th) but looking to make this my last job/career. Can’t wait! Rah!
@@Zany_gohan sorry to hear about the colorblindness, they take that waiver a lot more serious than a drug use one (marijuana…guilty) but hopefully you can get a program you like, I didn’t. Crazy to me people say the military isn't worth it, and they complain about having to pay for medical and all that, but the military pays rather decent, especially when you get a promotion every few years with an increase in pay, no one on the civilian side pays you like that, my friend was in 28 years making $12k a month as air traffic control in the Navy, without a college degree, who is going to hire you without an expensive degree making that kind of money then he retired with almost full retirement making I think half what he made in permanently with his GI bill

I want to do the same and I’m 16, but from what I’ve heard, do NOT go military police. Unless you get lucky with which unit you go to you will basically be a glorified security gate guard and working 60-80 hours a week. And I’ve also done research on military experience in police hiring, and none of them care what your job was, they just like the experience and leadership qualities that vets have.
Why not? The current administration might be a joke but I don’t think it’d be such a bad idea for my generation to get ourselves away from these cornballs by joining the service and having some real men to look up to.
