Good luck bud. I went to Parris Island for Basic. Graduated January 10, 2010. Your going to have a blast.... It ain't easy, but earning that title is absolutely worth it! Let me know if you've got any questions you want answered. Embrace The Suck👊🇺🇸

I was a squad leader a few separate times during boot camp, never stuck.. But, when it came time for graduation, they meritoriously promoted 3 people from the platoon. The guide, one of the squad leaders and myself. One of my best friends from the Marine Corps graduated basic a few months after me. He graduated as the Honor Guide and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. He is still in. Currently an EOD Tech on recruiting duty in Pennsylvania. He'll be a Gunnery Sergeant within a year. I’m a 17 yr old high school dropout. I was lost in life until my recruiter saw something in me and helped me finish my education. I’m currently in school but I’m scheduled to be a marine by the end of this year. Times like these I’m loving my country. Your videos are very motivating keep doing what you’re doing ❤
I want to be a Marine. My friend felt down, depressed all of the time with a 9 to 5 job. I feel the same, once he came back from the Marine corps boot camp he felt way better about life. So I'm planning on getting into the Mariners today.
I'm 17 and I've wanted to go into the Marine Crops since I was in middle school. I'm starting to take care of myself more and trying to better myself before I go. This video has been a really good motivator, thanks a lot. :)
@@Shirokuruse I’m 17 as well and I go to boot camp in July. I’m going because I’m coming right out of high school and you have structure in high school. I’m not a very structured person. So when you join the military you get that as well just harsher and in a way better prepares you for the world after the military because of all the values you learn in service. I think overall it’s a great option, but then again this is just my take on it.
I am 18, been graduated for 8 months now, been doing electrical, I am not passionate about it and the Marines was always my back up plan, I would be the 5th marine in the family tree that I know of, My dad raised my brother and I like Marines pretty much, he taught us the discipline and knowledge from his time in the marines our whole lives, my brother is a 0311 marine and going to his graduation really fired me up to join.
Seeing Marines graduate boot camp is a pretty badass experience. Now imagine being the one graduating. There's not much that compares to it! Join the Discord if you're serious about it! discord.gg/VGDbX8qHNa
I'm 17 and a big kid weight wise and I grew up wanting to be a Marine, started running and already have self discipline, but not gonna lie I have trouble eating healthy but I'm sure gonna try!
Baby steps man! Eating healthy is a lifestyle change. The more gradual the more sustainable. Start cutting out certain things in small increments and over time cut out more. Good luck to you and thanks for watching! New video uploaded every Wednesday!
Try cutting sugars, like fructose corn syrup, so did of sodas and juices. Sugar does a lot to your body in terms of gaining fat. Dropping certain sugars is a start. Of course your brain and body need sugar so don't completely lose it.
I’m 24 thinking about joining the marine corps. It’s something I’ve wanted since high school but life happened and I had stuff to do. I would be lying if I said that I’m not nervous and scared but at the same time I feel exhilarated and eager; mix of emotions. I want to be the best version I can be for myself, my country and my faith and I believe the marine corps will get me there.
I'm 23 and have been training/preparing for OCS. Embracing the suck made the toughest classes in college the best & most memorable ones. Thanks for the videos.
Hell yea man, that's awesome. The videos are my pleasure. I love the Corps and being able to share my experiences and give you guys a heads up anything Marine Corps is awesome. Don't ever hesitate to reach out man, and keep me posted on OCS! Stay tuned..New videos every Wednesday!
I’m 24 about to be 25 and I feel like the corps is my best option not just for a career opportunity but for personal growth as well. My dad carried a radio for a couple years before receiving a medical discharge and he still holds himself to the USMC standard.
I'm 62 and love watching videos like yours because if I had a "do over" I'd join the Marines. The discipline, focus, sense of urgency and physical training, etc. that Marines have has caused me to RESPECT every Marine I've met and worked with all my life. I needed that in my life, especially when I was younger. Thanks for what you're doing with your channel!
I really appreciate that Bill! I love hearing stories from those who watch my videos! I am just trying to create a resource that I wish I had when I joined the Corps 10 years ago. I loved the Marine Corps and really enjoyed my time serving in it. Sure, there were a lot of times that I hated it, but its like anything in life. I've always been the type of person to look at any situation and see the good in it. There is always something to be learned and the Marine Corps was a great environment for my young mind.
I’m 22 and I’m leaving for boot camp in 5 days , definitely nervous but have been preparing my body physically. Definitely going to be the biggest challenge of my life but I’m motivated to do something for myself no matter how mentally hard it’s going to be
15 here Always so confused on what branch to join until I jad a talk with a couple of Marine Recruiters. They didn't try to sell me amd instead taught me, gave me advice, and wanted to help me be a better person or marine and by god they weren't nice about it and I'm glad they weren't because I'm unhealthy and big. None of the other recruiters did that and now that I'm growing up I'm understanding what I need to do and why. I can't join law enforcement or be a marine eating shit and not working out because how am I supposed to save a life when I can barely save my own. I'm slowly doing better and I know I can, I just need to work harder for it.
Im 18, I ship out to bootcamp in San Diego for infantry. One of the main reasons chose to join is for self confidence and to push myself to my limits, I think it will make me realize how good everyone has it in life and appreciate things more. Also to earn the title of the 1% 🙌💪
@@multiversalman4270 its not too bad that im stationed in japan, but i got stuck in this bad mos that people act like children and treat each other like shit
I am 15 years old right now and have wanted to be a Marine since I was around 7 or 8. I plan on joining once I get out of high school. I appreciate the information and tips that you gave in this video and I will start working on them. Thank you for taking time to make this video, it is really going to help me out.
I am 14, and I have always had the dream of becoming a marine and I have started learning more about Boot Camp and this video is a great source of knowledge about becoming a marine!
I'm 26, I've always wanted to join but got busy quick with other things after high-school. I've worked construction since I was 17 and I'm just not passionate about it. I've always been interested in the military, especially the marine corps. My great grand father was a marine during ww2 and fought on iwo jima. I still have his uniform, cartridge belt and dog tags and a few other things. I want to join and become the best that I can be and become a leader and be more self confident. Thank you for all your videos! They are very helpful.
I'm 17. My ship date is July 22, 2021. Thank you for this video. Update: It is now June 27th, I just turned 18 and graduated high-school, have to get a few documents verified by MEPS, but I'm pretty much on track.
I’m shipping out in June and I’m so glad I came across your videos. They’ve helped me mentally and physically prepare. Part of the reason why I started going to the gym is so I could become physically fit to endure what the marine corps has to offer. I also learned a sense of discipline that will hopefully come in handy with boot camp, MCT, and MOS. I’m 21 and I cannot wait
I'm 15 honestly, I think learning things early is something useful and around listen to things like this to get used to it. I know the marine cor is going to be a challenge, but the sooner I get used to it, the more I can show that I care to have a spot as a marine soldier
No such thing as a marine soldier bud! If you are in the army, you are a soldier. If you are in the marines, you are a MARINE. Keep your hopes up little guy, marines can use little men like you
Good luck dude! Feel free to reach out with any last minute questions! Let me know when you graduate basic! I'd like to hear how it went for you! Semper Fi!
I'm 21 watching this video in '23. I've dreamt of being a marine since my father told me about his time in the corps before I was in school. Nothing brings more fulfillment than knowing I've signed the papers that'll honor my family, not just my fathers generation but all the others before that
24M, Been bouncing the military around in my head since 17. Ended up going to college instead of going to Canada to play hockey. Graduated. Been in a few corporate jobs from finance to real estate. Grew up around electricians and construction. Had multiple family members serve over multiple generations. Been doing my research hard the last two weeks, still have more to do, but the itch hasn't gone away and I know with 100% certainty I will end up as another individual later in life still asking "well what if".
I turn 28 in a few days, I’ve been worried they won’t take me because of age cause I find different results when I look it up. You for sure were accepted? Did you have to sign a waiver of any type?
I am 17 as of now I was planning on enlisting once I graduate but I was told I need to lose 40 lbs because I’m 6’0” 270 lbs and I need to be at 220 in order to make the cut but I have been working my ass off because I know this is what I want to do in life
Just continue exercising and working out. What kinds of things are you doing currently for exercise? Also, if you haven't done so already clean up your diet. 40 pounds isn't impossible. Read David Goggins book, "Can't Hurt Me" for some motivation and to get an idea of how much weight he lost to become a Seal.
In 75 there were no videos telling you what to expect. No one told me anything veterans would just smile and say nothing. My recruiter told me as long as i was physically fit i was fine. My football coach was a retired Marine who worked with me till i left. It was hard but i did it.
Im 17yo and preparing for the marines. Scared shitless and im not near as fit or ready as i wanna be but this video has boosted my confidence a bit. Thank you for this
I’m 17 and as a kid and up to last year I was very fat but I’ve lost 90 pounds and The more I thought about it the more I’ve wanted to become a marine and help protect my country and prove to myself I can do it and if I can’t I’ll still win the knowledge of how sick you have to be to earn the title marine
You'll make it through man. If you lost 90 pounds (Congratulations by the way) you'll make it through Boot Camp. Good luck to you and feel free to reach out with any questions!
I actually have two reasons why first off my dad’s family and my dad most of his siblings were Marine’s so I have a legacy to carry on and it’s something I wanted to do since I was two years old I wanted to be in the military
I am 16 years old i’ve been thinking about joining the military and becoming a drill instructor ever since I’ve started Jrotc and your channel has really helped me out I feel like joining the Marine Corps will give me motivation and discipline to better myself in all ways some of my friends don’t think I can do it but I know that I can become the best female marine that I can be
I am glad you've been finding value in my videos! It sounds like you've got a great head on your shoulders! Definitely use others negativity as fuel and a way to prove them wrong! Tony, I am 53 years old. I started to join the U.S. Marines in 1991. I actually joined the Navy in 1992. I joined the Army National Guard in 2004. You are giving good advice. Thank You!
I’m 23, turning 24 in August. I wanted to join straight out of high school, but I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to do in life and long story short, my life is a depressing nightmare. To put it bluntly. If I told you even a quarter of what has happened to me, you’d be shocked. I wanted to join the Marines originally because my uncle was a marine in Vietnam, he was a machine gunner (M60) in the infantry, he did 3 tours. Unfortunately he passed away when I was 12 from Agent Orange effects, so I did not get to know him as much as I wanted to. I am still interested in joining, and it runs through my head every day, and I’ve been getting in good shape, but I have some health issues that I’m afraid MEPS will fail me for after boot camp. Not to mention, I’m trying to figure out what to do with my mom because she is broke at the age she should be retiring at, and if I leave, she might be out on the street.
My high school situation is a little weird but when I get my diploma I’m going into the corps and I can’t wait thank you for the advice and everything man this helped a TON I’m 17
I'm 23. Went through community college, worked various jobs and nothing so far hasn't resonated with me. Always wanted to join the military and just want to get my life back on check.
If you're considering the military, I'd say go for it! I went to boot camp in ‘96, 10 years active duty. No prep videos, no prep books. Being successful in boot camp and the Corps is about mindset. Either you can hack it or you can’t. That simple.
I just turned 18 and have always wanted to join the marines so I enlisted a few months ago and have 8 months till I ship to San Diego I’m really excited about this and this video is gonna help in a big way to start of my preparation, btw today is the first day I started prepping thank you!!

welp I’m 16 but already graduating high school, I turn 17 next month and when that day comes I want to sign up! I really want to become a marine and this video really helps so thank you !
The first night you’ll realize that recruiters were being nice but in reality the marine corps hates you. And you may tear up the first time you get a chance to lay on your bunk. And then you’ll ask yourself if you can make it through this. But then if you’re in shape you just have to realize that the worst thing they can do to you is scream at you. And you’ll do just fine. It’s the beginning of a new life. Put all your heart into it. Simple but you’ll come up on top.
I'm 29. Last year I changed career paths and went back to college for IT. I just got a call from a recruiter today, so I'm looking into everything now. It's an option that's always been in the back of my mind, but the fact that I can get into infosec and state-sponsored hacking through the military (even the reserves) is making it look way more appealing to me. Especially considering i can get all of the certifications i'm studying for (sec+, ccna, ccnp, ceh, oscp) through the marines. If i knew that was an option, i would have signed up in 2010. My father was a paratrooper in the army in Viet Nam, my grandfather was a marine in WWII, my uncle is an army ranger. I grew up with a basic understanding of what I'm in for. I'm here because I'm trying to get a feel for it and see if it's right for me.
Sounds like you’ve got a pretty sweet opportunity. The Marines and military in general is what you make of it. Unless your a shitbag, suck at PT, lazy, weak minded, problem with authority or any other obvious reason you’ll be fine. Basic training is all about embracing the suck and doing as your told. You get used to it in a way and it becomes tolerable. You try to fight it then your in for a long shitty 13 weeks! Keep me posted on what you end up doing man, I’m looking forward to hearing back!
@@ForTheCorps I gotcha. I feel like I'm pretty prepared for the suck. Right now I'm looking into which branch can help me get to where I want to be, or if the path I'm currently on is a better one for me. I want to serve my country by defending our personal information and by defending our military and government information form people who would wish to sabotage us, whether that's through the military or infosec. I subscribed to your channel and I will be sure to let you know what I decide.
Thanks a lot man. The support means a lot. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do. Plenty of opportunities for you from the sounds of it. Good luck!
I agree totally with your brother, it's no secret being a good Marine is self accountability build yourself up but also everyone around you. You cannot be a good Marine on just yourself you need other good Marines around you. How good you wore and how could you make others around you depends on your heart and how much you put into it. Semper Fi!

I don't live in the richest place so the benefits it will give me will help me a lot. Also a few friends I made are in the marines so I jumped on the train and can't wait for this experience.
I’m 19 and I tried college for a year and I wasn’t a huge fan of it. I’m not sure on what to do in my life so I figure that maybe joining the marine corps is the best option for me. I want to to show my family that I can carry my own weight around in life and so I can become a better person.

@@grantlane932 the main thing is diet brother! I religiously count my calories and weigh my protein (meat) by the ounce (oz) And my carbs by the gram ! And fats you can also weigh it out however the nutrition label categorizes the product (Grams..Ounces..ETC) Some fats say a serving is (for example) 15 grams … some say 3 OZ for ounces and i have a food scale that can measure all of them! As for macros (fats..protien..carbs) I try to get 200 grams of protein a day if not that at least 170 Keep your carbs moderately low Under 150 if you can keep them under 100 that’s great! If you need to cut weight quick keep them under 30-50 and you’ll drop all your water and start burning fat really quick because of the ketones ! But keep your water intake high through all of this and keep a good amount of fiber in your diet to stop constipation ! And I try not to go above 100 fats a day But most days if I get my 200 grams of Protien in I stop eating even if I only had 1500 calories … Drop your height and body weight and age and I can give you a guestimation on your BMR(calories burned at rest) then we will go from there! After all you only lose weight if you burn more calories than you intake Download my fitness pal And start scanning your food labels and tracking everything it’s crazy how much we eat and don’t know it! Best of luck brother! Comment back if you need anything else!!💪
@@thecasual9582 I’m 19 years old 313 pounds and 6 feet tall. I know the requirements for my height for the marines it’s like 202 but I really appreciate your help and insight because this is all good information I can use to help get me started on my journey!

@@Shirokuruse I’m 17 as well and I go to boot camp in July. I’m going because I’m coming right out of high school and you have structure in high school. I’m not a very structured person.
@@StevenTheAristolianNerd Great advice! If people just cut out juices, sodas and candy they'd be amazed at how much of a difference it would make!

Always so confused on what branch to join until I jad a talk with a couple of Marine Recruiters.
I'm glad you didn't take any of it personally! Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders. Keep working towards your goals!
Im 18, I ship out to bootcamp in San Diego for infantry. One of the main reasons chose to join is for self confidence and to push myself to my limits, I think it will make me realize how good everyone has it in life and appreciate things more. Also to earn the title of the 1% 🙌💪

I’m enlisting at 31. Thanks for the advice, I’ll remember it brother, and thanks for your service.
I turn 28 in a few days, I’ve been worried they won’t take me because of age cause I find different results when I look it up. You for sure were accepted? Did you have to sign a waiver of any type?
I’m speaking specifically of the Marines. I know they cap age at 28 but I’ve read about later enlistments with signing age waivers.
It was hard but i did it.

was planning on going air force but i’ve changed my mind and i’m going marines.
My man! What made you change your mind?

I’m 19 and I tried college for a year and I wasn’t a huge fan of it. I’m not sure on what to do in my life so I figure that maybe joining the marine corps is the best option for me. I want to to show my family that I can carry my own weight around in life and so I can become a better person.
Did you go for it?
27 year old female, wanted to join right out of high school but never did, until now. planning to enlist now but having serious doubts about my size and age. this video and all the comments helped though, thank you 🙏
Im 15 and cant wait to join. Thank you for showing me I can do it.
October 26 is when I leave for San Diego
Heading out to San Diego in August. I swore into the DEP when I was 17 but I'll be at boot camp at 18. I think I'll be on my 10 day leave for my birthday so that'll be a good 19th birthday.
That will be a hell of a birthday man! Good luck to you and feel free to reach out with any questions! New video uploaded every Wednesday!

That’s badass man, congratulations! How much more do you need to drop?
Any suggestions on workouts to drop weight? I’m starting at the same place and have the same goal
@@ForTheCorps I have to get to at least 198 for my height and 228 for MEPS!
It’s been a journey 💪
@@grantlane932 the main thing is diet brother!
I religiously count my calories and weigh my protein (meat) by the ounce (oz)
And my carbs by the gram !
And fats you can also weigh it out however the nutrition label categorizes the product (Grams..Ounces..ETC)
Some fats say a serving is (for example)
15 grams … some say 3 OZ for ounces and i have a food scale that can measure all of them!
As for macros (fats..protien..carbs)
I try to get 200 grams of protein a day if not that at least 170
Keep your carbs moderately low
Under 150 if you can keep them under 100 that’s great! If you need to cut weight quick keep them under 30-50 and you’ll drop all your water and start burning fat really quick because of the ketones !
But keep your water intake high through all of this and keep a good amount of fiber in your diet to stop constipation ! And I try not to go above 100 fats a day
But most days if I get my 200 grams of Protien in I stop eating even if I only had 1500 calories …
Drop your height and body weight and age and I can give you a guestimation on your BMR(calories burned at rest) then we will go from there!
After all you only lose weight if you burn more calories than you intake
Download my fitness pal
And start scanning your food labels and tracking everything it’s crazy how much we eat and don’t know it!
I’m 24 turning 25 next year in January. I got my class A license and started looking up videos with commercial driving and I came across a tiktok of a motor transporter in the military and I thought that was cool asf hauling a tank in a military truck. My uncle is a veteran marine and he’s persuading me to join and I’m going for it!
