So you spoke with your recruiter and they told you, you need your green card first before thinking in joining? I heard that they help you get a green card, I was reading the comments and this one seemed changing since I heard other wise.
great video! i want to join the marines, and plan on it still but when people ask me why the best answer i can give is "i want the title and benefits that come along with it." but yes being responsible would be the best thing you can do when you start seeing the money numbers start rising.
Yeah the Marine Corps doesn’t really offer much but having the title is dam worth it! Every Marine you see is proud of being one… unless they had a bad experience 😞
I left boot camp with between 700-800$. This was back in 2006 when E-1 salary was a little over 1k a month. I thought I would be leaving with 3k+ but all your uniform issues are taken out of your pay. Looks like monthly salary has doubled now, but uniform prices have probably doubled as well.
In 1969 as a non-married private, my monthly salary was $300.00. Three years later as an E5, my monthly income was $500.00. I did get jump pay of $50.00 per jump. In Vietnam, I got $50.00 per month hazardous duty pay. When I left service after 6 years and making E6, I was making $800.00 a month.

Good video bro you mind making a video on bootcamp tips I’m shipping out Monday the 1st just wanted some insight who’s kinda fresh out also how old are you?
Hey Joseph thank you for watching this video! Sorry for the late response. If you haven’t shipped out already, the best advice I can give you is be loud and be fast! But I sure will make a video on tips of bootcamp
In 1986 I left Boot Camp with 750 dollars in Travelers checks. I though I was rich. When I was an E4 I made 410 per pay period with 50 dollars extra for sea pay.
As a Lance corporal in 1969 I received $78.00 every two weeks! Try that one out! We were always broke! Even back then there isn't to much you can do with that. I can laugh about this now. Back then it was accepted without question that it was the way things were.
In October 1969 (when I went in) base pay had just got increased to $110.15 a month. It had previously been $96.10 per month. Just after training, I was getting $45 per payday (that was after taxes and withholdings). I saved for two paydays so I could buy a set of dress blues (a little over $50.00). They didn't issue dress blues then, and I wanted to have the best looking uniform that I was and ever have been entitled to wear.
Thank you for sharing this! This should make everybody appreciate the privileges we have now. Uniform items still get deducted from our pay but it does not take 2 paychecks to afford a dress blue uniform lol Thank you for your service as well🫡
Hey, there's a recruiter that wants me to come into his office tomorrow for more questions about marine Corp. And I was wondering if you think that after the boot camp do they continue with other things that would give you the same pay or... sumthing else
You get paid based on your rank and time in service. Same in every branch. You get a monthly salary that is paid on the 1st and 15th of every month. From the day you start active duty until the day you get out.
Yes there’s basic training in San Diego. It depends where you live. If you live in the west coast you’ll go to San Diego. If you live in the east coast you’ll go to Parris Island, South Carolina
Hope you are able to live on a paycheck like that, lol I graduated as a pfc in 1962 and my base pay was 62.80 per month; and doubled my pay almost with a$50. per month dependant allotment. Then her father found out we got married and threw her out so had to get an apartment until we could get base housing !!
Bro how do you get BAH My fucking recruiter ain’t telling me shit . I passed my Picat verification over a a week ago . Just waiting to piss clear then I’ll head to meps for physical. Im a single male I pay child support can I qualify for BAH??
That’s a good question. You are supposed to get some type of extra pay. Almost like BAH. You just have to take some documentation of your kid and take it to your recruiter
Hmm that’s interesting. Things could change. But normally you don’t get paid during DEP. DEP does count towards your contract though. So the longer your DEP is, the better😉
Sundays are chill compared to other days. You get your religious service in the morning. If you want to go of course but I would recommend going. Just don’t get complacent cus DIs can still F you guys up
In your situation, if you’re active you will get that extra pay. If reserve, it will stop after mos school. And if you’re single, you’re forced to live in barracks unless you can get a couple of other marines to rent a house which I don’t recommend lol. Better to save your money and live the barracks life
@@tylerlanders3643 I’m taking niacin lol Pissing dirty af All I did was fat dabs this summer My recruiter told me ima pass my physical so I believe them
I did not. Which now I see was a mistake I made for not asking my recruiter if there’s any bonus for Motor T. I’ve heard many people say they got a bonus. If you plan on joining, always ask your recruiter if that MOS has a bonus!

That "title" along with $1.80 will get you a cup of coffee at CITGO.

Dang that’s crazy! With inflation now I’m guessing it’s about the same amount as it is now.
Either way thank you for service!

Yes. Only when you train while you’re in active duty status. Meaning basic training, MCT, and MOS school
Hi I I'm curious during the time you were in bootcamp does everybody still wear the masks for covid?
