After road testing the Canon M5 and using it for 6 months, I decided to make a quick review.

Hello, came across your video after purchasing an M5 and wanted to hear various points of view. I must say that the M5 is far from the perfect compact alternative to our favourite DSLRs, but there's still a lot to like nevertheless. Once I figured out how to customize the control buttons to my liking, the camera is now much more likeable. I use the EVF mainly for composition and shooting so I assign the M-Fn button for switching quickly between the EVF and back screen
Finally a review that is not all negative, as I have been looking for a better, lighter version of my 70D
Depending how you are using the camera, it can definitely be a nice, light replacement to the 70D.
I am mostly still's, but am starting to shoot video, but for my own use, so 4K is not a problem
I've been using m5 a lot more than my 70d, you can transfer video button to fn1 to avoid accidental recording, my main annoyance is that 3rd party batteries are blocked by software so no indicator and threatening warnings every time you switch on and its very overpriced compared with competition but I'm all Canon having tried panasonic and olympus and ended up switching back.
Reassigning the button is a good idea.
I also have the 70D, and have been looking for a lighter travel camera, that can use all of my lenses. I am not into video as much as others, but at my age, I would like something smaller.
