Absolutely, I've always loved when drivers acknowledge the disappointment that the team experiences along with the driver. And Leclerc is quite young as well which makes him that much more impressive.
I think it's a deserved win from Gasly , he got lucky but nowadays if you're not in a Merc or a RB , you have to be lucky to win , Sainz reduced the diff to under 1s with 3 laps to go but he failed to overtake Gasly .
I'm never going to be able to see Romain without at least a lump in my throat. When he talks about being happy to be there, it flattens me each time. I've seen some horrible - and sadly, fatal - crashes in my near 50 years of being a petrolhead. 2 wheels or 4, doesn't matter, I love it. But I've seen too many horrendous crashes as they happened and that one was one of the most terrifying I've ever seen. For him to jump over that barrier... Yes, the massive amount of safety features there are now absolutely played their parts, and for that I'll be forever grateful, but it was like seeing a miracle unfold, especially as he was, to all intents and purposes, barely hurt at all. This year, I think that every improvement in safety has in one way or another been used. No thanks will ever be enough to those who made them happen.
That crash looked like all the terrible fatal crashes of the 70s put together. Rindt, Williamson, Cevert, Ronnie, Koinigg, all put together. And he walked away from it 👏🏻

@@sirmounted8499 In 2019, Ferrari messed with the fuel system. Redbull figured it out and told the FIA if they didn't stop it, they would do it too. So the FIA just added another fuel censor(originally there was only one) to all cars, to ensure that no one can alter the fuel flow. That's how Ferrari got caught out. If they can make a power unit that is much better and within the regulations, no one can object. Honda and Mercedes have done it, they can do it too.
All i can say is i'm so proud of the engineers and staff of the F1 the leaps and bounds they have made in safety have saved so many lives it's just astonishing.
Just remember how against the halo a lot of team principals, engineers and especially drivers were. Toto said "If they give me a chainsaw I would cut it off." If Grosjean didn't have it on his car, he would have been decapitated almost 100%. and Lewis probably would have a broken neck or worse after Max ended up on top of him at Monza.

I see many people discrediting Stroll's pole lap only because of where he finished in the race. Its still an incredible lap that should be given more credit regardless of how his race unfolded
Stroll got random wing damage in the race which cost him an incredible amount of downforce in the conditions On the newer inters he had no grip and no chance
Romain Grosjean leaping the armco barrier from that huge fireball will go down as one of F1's most iconic images. Amazing that he survived. A miracle really.
No matter how many times I see that Grosjean crash, I get tears. We are all very fortunate to see this man alive and well. The result could have been very much so different, and everyone knows it. ❤️

Your capacity of overcoming such things is as important to a race driver as his speed. Pérez lost his job, lost a podium when his engine failed with 3 laps to go and won the very next race. That's resilience, you need that to be Verstappen's teamate.
@@darksemmel503 Yeah but who knows what would have happened if Albon got a podium there? He seems like an emotional guy who is really frustrated when he DNFs. This podium could have given him confidence for the next races and maybe he would have performed better the whole season because of that.

My very first F1 season... a very action packed and memorable season indeed!!! I've thoroughly enjoyed it and I am definitely coming back every year!!!
He had 16 more races to prove a point. If I remember correctly, Lance and Max were among the seven other DNFs. One got a pole position and Max even had 2 wins. I like Albon but he just didn't quite cut it this past season.
@@KirtiKumarKasat1 he would have won the race if it weren't for that crash. He was on softs and if you remember both Mercedes had a gearbox issue so they couldn't push to overtake him either. Winning a race before Max would have been a huge confidence boost for Albon and would have put him in a better position with the team.

I'm not a big Albon fan, but I do believe we would've seen a lot more of him if Hamilton didn't drive him off the track twice. Dude would've gotten so much more needed confidence if he finished those races.

However, Brundle thinks Perez could have gone wide (meaning off the track) leaving space for Charles, while he already enough space.
Im not an experienced commentarist with an F1 career and yet i could see from the beguining that was all on Charles and that there was enough space for a full car...
All you can see are fast cars zooming by and overtaking each other but when the radio chatter comes, you realize how emotional and each second of the race can be.
I always love Leclerc self reflection although he performs awesome he beats himself up for mistakes and learns a-lot from the thats whyhe is my favorite driver

That's the medical car, it always follows the cars for the first lap as they start the race. Heroic rescue nonetheless.

I'll never forget the sinking feeling when grosjean crashed but then the relief when I realised he was ok
Just the thing I needed after this day in home office to make it a bit better. Formula video + listening to the music I like (Delta Parole, Metallica and other) make me feel the speed and excitement!

@Xendex Motorsports Sakhir turn 3 I think incident w/ Perez Charles Verstappen, Charles obviously goes for a ambitious yet unrealistic move and is found at fault for causing a collison. However, Brundle thinks Perez could have gone wide (meaning off the track) leaving space for Charles, while he already enough space.
Im not an experienced commentarist with an F1 career and yet i could see from the beguining that was all on Charles and that there was enough space for a full car...

All you can see are fast cars zooming by and overtaking each other but when the radio chatter comes, you realize how emotional and each second of the race can be.
I always love Leclerc self reflection although he performs awesome he beats himself up for mistakes and learns a-lot from the thats whyhe is my favorite driver

Even a Hamilton fan like me can see Alex had no fault. It wasn't like in Brazil where Alex turned in a but early. He had the move done, but Lewis understeered, and hit him. If anyone is at fault it is Lewis.
