Drivers’ Radio Reaction to Grosjean's Crash | F1 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix

- Hello everyone, I tried to compile every single driver's reaction during the initial red flag. It's great to see that as fierce as they are when competing they still genuinely care for each other on the track as evident from their reactions and concerns over the team radio. Also not every driver reacted due to the hectic start.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed this video and glad Romain is okay, thankfully!
For those wondering, "Keep the delta positive" means to drive slower than the depicted time shown on the driver's dashboard. Similar to how drivers have to follow a time under VSC in order to ensure a consistent and safe speed.

Guys, I tried my best to make every radio as concise as possible. Also not every driver reacted to Grosjean’s crash. (Ricciardo and Stroll)
Edit: Apologies everyone for missing out Magnussen. I was in a rush to get this video out as quickly as possible, and didn't realise that I missed him out of the video... As for Kevin's radio, he was told by Haas that Romain was out of the car and safe.
Here's what the team told Kevin: "Okay so Romain had an incident but he is out of the car and he's safe. Okay there's a fire near the car, but he's out of the car and safe."
Kevin after seeing the fire: "Sh*t, is he... Is he okay..?"
Engineer: "Yep he's out of the car, he's out of the car and safe. They're putting out the fire but Romain is out of the car and safe. There's no one is trouble, okay?"
Once again apologies about the mistake.

Being personally impacted by tragedy the way he has and losing people close to him has to always come to mind when he witnesses something like that. Not to say the other drivers were less concerned but he desperately needed affirmation that Romain was okay.
i feel bad that there’s so much radio of leclerc being so hard on himself and then there’s this one when he’s absolutely in panic mode
honestly his voice sounds so freak out and scared for grosjean but the calm he has to maintain to bring back his car to the pits is amazing
kimis voice is.. different
It sounded like Kimi was genuinely concerned.
@@SerPurple51 Definitely was. It's just that they probably had problems setting up Kimi's comms, hence the low volume.
it sounds like his is crying

I'd give anything to hear their reactions that Grosjean was okay.
They were already in the pits out of cars so there's video of it from race day
There is one with leclercs reaction here:

1:36 considering the loss of his godfather Jules Bianchi and close friend Anthoine Hubert, Charles Leclerc's reaction gives me chills every time
Gosh, to hear Leclerc‘s emotion in the team radio is tear jerking 🥺
yeah, he lose Jules Bianchi who is like brother to him. This accident trigger the trauma he had
"we race as one" sounds soo meaningful and true after listening to these radios
More than the whole BLM circus before the race.

I have never seen such a compilation of professionalism, class, and compassion on the radio from all of these F1 teams.

i think charles was the only one that actually saw the crash and you can see the diiference in tone to the others
kviyat saw it too
Yeah danii saw it as well he was somewhat apart of the crash so very clear footage for him
Plus Charles was really closs to Jules Bianchi and Anthoine Hubert who both died in crashes. Plus he gets along with Grosjean too
He was probably looking at his mirrors

Damn... I feel bad for Charles Leclerc. He lost two people he knew to a similar crash, Jules Bianchi and Anthoine Hubert, and, to be honest, if I lost two people I knew, I'd be scared shitless, too.
I love that they all asked immediately if everyone was ok, but Charles...he sounded so worried and upset
His good friend Anthoine Hubert and godfather Jules Bianchi both died in racing crashes. He's seen it up close, he knows what it looks like, and it shows he was afraid he was seeing it happen all over again.
@@pachidermo I think it really shows when drivers have actually been effected, definitely in Charles case here, he was almost panicked
Massive Respect to everyone. First thing they asked was if the driver was okay.

That has illustrated how great the relationships between the drivers are. Thankfully everyone was ok. Thanks to all marshals have cooperated in the best way. Moreover, Grosjean's job was incredible
theyre good friend outside the track
Even if there isn’t. You’ll still be scared.
Leclerc's come a long way from when he apologized for swearing over comm.
The difference between the reactions based on track position is interesting. Leaders who didn’t see it calmly asking while the ones who did see it are quite worked up.
Indeed. As F1 drivers, they're more than used to hearing about cars crashing, so when they don't see it, they react like they usually do.
Naturally, those drivers who actually see the magnitude of the impact react with much more concern. Even Kimi Raikkonen, who's a seasoned veteran, reacts with noticeable dread.

In most of kimis career that crash would’ve been certain death
I doubt he was on the verge of crying in that instant
They were teammates in the past...
Leclerc & Kvyat's reaction was quite something
Kvyat did not have a good day that night. First that and then he flipped Stroll. He must've been utterly done after that race.
Even Kimi talking in sentences was showing just how fatal this incident could be, should some of the safety regulations not have been in place
@@John_Smith76 I get what you're saying, but both were not his fault objectively speaking.

He has da experience. He as old as creation itself
It's so incredible that Grosjean survived largely unscathed (save for some burns). Had it been 5 years earlier without the halo, he would undoubtedly be dead.

Kvyat goes from complaining about Grosjean immediately to desperately asking about his wellbeing. Charles' radio is equally heartbreaking. Grosjean escaping with "minor injuries" from that horror crash is beyond a relief.
Probably because he was bummed that they made contact, and didn't want nothing bad to come out of it, not really complaining, just bummed.
at turn 8/9 when the drivers can see the fire, u can see kyvat do the cross sign as he was seeing how bad the fire was.
