The accident was serious but the lesson was real. Max needs to learn that he can also back out of these situations and not always expect his opponents to back out.
Max is fast but if the car isn't at the front or the quickest he will suffer many DNFs this season.

@@timibo971 Max was IN FRONT when does the person IN FRONT back off?!?!!! the telemetry shows Lewis broke way too late which is ridiculous considering the cold tires, full engine, being on the dirty side of the grid, in one of the fastest corners of the calendar and everyone knows copse has understeer on the exit. Max gave Lewis more than the required amount of space (watch crashalong) while Lewis was nearly 3 meters away from the curb and missed the apex by a mile.

@@hussainrashaan1772 Couldn't agree more. This whole 'don't celebrate a win when your opponent crashes' is nonsense. Did we cast such judgement on those who celebrated on the podium after the Grosjean fireball crash in 2020?
It was Lewis' home race with fans for the first time in 2 years, he won the race by hunting down LeClerc after receiving a penalty which in itself is a much more pleasing way to win. It's not like Lewis took out Max on purpose and took a leisurely Sunday drive round the track for 50 laps and then decided to celebrate specifically to hurt Max and RB. Lewis asked Bono if Max was out of the car and ok, he was told that Max was fine. After the race Lewis had no idea Max was in hospital, he wasn't given that info. Max had standard checks and had no serious injuries and was able to compete the very next race.
This narrative about Max nearly being killed is ridiculous and pathetic. If anyone was nearly killed last year it was Lewis in Monza, the halo prevented the weight of Max's car to come crushing down on his neck. A move which was completely Max's fault too.

Secondly, if Merc had pitted Max would be P1 and with the race needing to finish under SC as per the rules and the laps left in the race it would've been the biggest choke in F1. Your expecting Mercedes to anticipate rules will be broken which is so dumb. He was under too much pressure when the crash happened, knowing his decision making could influence the season and being something of a weakling with a lack of confidence in his own decision making. He delayed too long in allowing the back markers through, and then received radio from Horner complaining. He realised Red Bull would not win the title as a result of his delay, and he blamed himself for that delay. He decided to go against protocol and allow some back markers through and restart the race early to compensate for his error a few minutes prior. At this point Mercedes' gamble on keeping Hamilton out turned from a win to a lose. Of course they weren't in the psychological position to understand Masi's motivations for this, and Hamilton being Hamilton perceived it as a personal attack. Masi probably knew it was lights out for him but probably felt that he had at least balance out his errors of the previous few minutes. As soon as Latifi hit the wall it was over for Hamilton. Masi fucked that up, then unfucked it up. And it cost him his job. It didn't cost Hamilton the title. It didn't grant Verstappen the title. They both earned what they got. And in the end that's the most important thing. That's what was going through Masi's head.

@@-BuddyGuy Masi followed protocol because the rules did not outline that ALL cars could un-lap themselves. That has been amended meanwhile. On top of that - after Spa - all teams agreed that a race should never end under a SC.

Toto must had come in the George and Valtteri thing to manage his drivers and their behaviour after the crash and must had settled the misunderstanding with George he did it once so there is big chances he may do it once again with any driver and never apologize to then it can also be with Lewis and after joining a big team like Mercedes than can be a really bad thing for the team in both media and reputation in public eyes

The saddest part is that George is like a mini Toto, entitled af and always thinks he's tight, even if he clearly is wrong. They're insufferable.

2 perspectives my arse Toto! Hamilton understeered into Verstappen the data and telemetry now proves that. The way Hamilton celebrated after taking a couple of minutes of blaming him before asking if he were ok. That would have been the first thing out of my mouth. The way he was bitching and moaning about the check on his car too..really makes me feel Abu Dhabi was karma for him and Mercedes

Was the race rigged in Abu Dhabi? I doubt it, since both teams were extremely confused by what was going on and didn’t initially know how to react to the rules being put in place. Instead, I just think the FIA wanted to make the last race exciting, allowing the two contenders to battle side by side. If Merc pitted Hamilton, yes he would’ve lost position, but the fight would’ve been way closer and he might’ve won

What? Do you even know how safety car works?
Under regular circumstances and occurrences, by the time all the lapped cars were allowed to overtake, the race would have finished under safety car and Lewis wins.
Why would Lewis need to pit when normally the race would’ve ended? It’s by far the stupidest decision they could’ve done.
Also how is it fair for Lewis to race with 40 lap old hards vs max on fresh softs?

@@yazdeeb6660 Are you a new fan who saw two RUclips videos and suddenly thinks they’re educated on the topic? Of course I know how the safety car traditionally works, which is why I’m saying the FIA likely changed the rules so that the race could end as a race, instead of ending under safety car. Additionally, know that the teams agree before the season even starts that, when possible, a race will never end under a safety car if it can be avoided. I’m not saying it was necessarily fair to Lewis, but I’m telling you to stop acting like Redbull was plotting for this to happen. You fanboy
