@@rodsangleuk6283 I'm looking for a new continental style rod at 14' .There are many on the market but I have been inspired by the Grauvell range you use to be honest.I have one or two already but at 15'find them a little too big for me so 14' is much better. Thanks once again
Cheers Rod, really enjoy the vids, learnt alot about flatfish fishing from you! Caught my first shore caught cornish plaice yesterday. Twitching baits helps the bite count as you demonstrate regularly. Thanks for documenting your fishing and sharing your knowledge!
I like the way you treat your fish when you release the under sized fish. I see to many sea anglers throwing fish back as though they are trash. This seem especially so with all the little whiting that come up the Medway at this time of the year
Love your videos Rod, very relaxing and informative.I was certain that you would get some flatties at this venue. I have never been there but it looked like a mecca for flounder. Nice bass btw and I would not be surprised if a 10lb plus bass was caught there. Looking forward to your next video, tight lines!!!
Thanks for watching and your kind words Jerry. Sheppy used to be good for flounders, but like many other venues, they have declined in number - will try again for them here in the winter months sometime. Odd decent bass can pop up out of the blue from a number of venues I fish - I think autumn gives you your best chance of a specimen.
when I was a teenager I used to fish this part all the time in the summer used to catch very big eels and nice size bass and in a winter time used to catch decent sized codling
Hi Rod I enjoy your fishing ventures , very informative . One question what are the make and model of your 2 main rods and the make and model of your newly purchased multi tip rod . Tight lines and thank you for taking me fishing on my computer lol cheers .
Great video as always rod, love the second location near the wooden house. Any good in the winter??. Thanks for uploading it. Kind regards Mike. Norfolk. 🐟🐟
@@rodsangleuk6283 yes mate.use ragworm for bait, blow lug will also work but i think rag is better.i have been reading on facebook that there is now a ban in place for bait digging along there.i hope its not the case but people are saying police are warning people off,the locals informing them when they see people doing it.something to do with it being an SSSI site now or something so not sure how we stand for the fishing along there.
Super upload as always Rod.Information and content at a premium .Quick question why when things are on slow side are you not tempted to use a third rod? Im only a novice sea angler fishing of the East coast of Yorkshire but I'm learning so much watching your videos..Anway can I just stay safe and keep sharing.
Thanks @gazellis1961. Yes - can be a good idea to have your two main rods out long and a shorter scratching rod fished nearer in. However when there's lots of weed about and a prominent tidal pull, you can get in to all sorts of problems with lines crossing when weed drags your rigs out of position. I do sometimes fish three rods, especially if one or two of them have big baits on and I'm not expecting many bites on those. It all depends on the venue, conditions, target species and how much effort I feel like putting in at the time!
Thanks for that Alan - for fair range, I usually mean over 80yds - unless the wind is from behind, or I've waded in some distance before casting. It sounds a bit vague and it is! If I was a carp angler, I'd probably use measuring sticks.
I agree Simon - have to hit the bites you get, otherwise sessions can easily end up as blanks. Plenty of rays in the spring though, with nights being better. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Just had an extremely enjoyable half an hour watching this video. Many thanks for filming your visit and sharing it. I fished Leysdown many moons ago but never quite got round to to Shellness. Think I'll have to give it a go sooner rather than later. Any reason why you didn't set one rod up for a possible Thornback Ray? I've also noticed that on occasions you keep your freshly dug Southend lugworm in sea water. Do you think they keep better this way? Can't wait for your next video...looks intriguing. Keep safe and keep healthy. Cheers. Ken
Thanks for your support again Ken. I might be wrong, but the rays are usually caught off the shore in the spring and few and far between, especially during the day here in July; with perhaps the exception of Eastchurch Gap. I'm new to digging and storing bait, so may be doing it all wrong! However if I'm not using them straight away, I'm now keeping lugworms in trays / plastic containers with an inch or so of cold seawater in a bait fridge - I have managed to keep them in good condition this way for well over a week. I just transfer them to the buckets you see in the videos with fresh cold seawater for the journey and they stay OK for a few hours and sometimes all day if they don'tget too warm. If they are old / the water gets discoloured or too warm, I'll change it with fresh at the venue.
Cheers for the reply. Just wondered - Thornback Ray seem to be appearing everywhere and at odd times these days! I don't dig bait but next time I go fishing I might transfer my lugworm from the newspaper wraps to a bucket with fresh sea water and see how I get on. All the Best. Ken
Do you ever catch anything? I feel so bad for you. And that’s coming from someone who lives in the worst fishing spot in Australia called Yeppoon. Even I get a few nibbles here.
To catch here, you need to be on a trawler and even they have bad days! The worst spot down under, is probably better than the best spot in the UK, especially at the moment! Thanks for watching.
@@rodsangleuk6283 I’m not sure about that. Australia has done a great gob of trawling our waters clean and selling it all to China. Now our coast is fished out and stocks are gone no one knows what to do.
Great video again. The things I like are: lack of music, information about rigs, excellent locations, map references and dry sense of homour. 10/10.
Many thanks for watching and your endorsement Tony.
Love watching the videos thank you keep them coming!!
Thanks Nigel, will do!
your videos almost send me to sleep but i mean that in a good way ,so relaxing ,fish of secondary importance
Good night Michael, have pleasant dreams.
Another great video Rod. Thanks again.🙂👍

Brilliant vid! I fished this point yesterday and at Minster. I love Sheppey
Thanks for that - how did you do?
@RodsAngleUK Thanks. Just seen reply. Yes nice session. Three ( fairly small ) bass and a flatfish of some kind ( wasn't too sure of species )

Thanks for that Mike - I'll have to give it a go and see if there are any flounders in the winter.
Thinking of trying Studland knoll beach could you give me a tackle shop where I can get rag from about end of May tks lov e your vids
Hi Mick - for a number of my sessions there, I bought my ragworm from either Wessex Angling in Poole, or Swanage Angling Centre.
Excellent video,,new subscriber
Thanks for watching and the sub!
Well done again good camera work who does the filming while you are fishing good panning and zooms..
Thanks Keith - I do all of the filming - the panning and zooming is mainly done in post production. 👍
fish them venue's during a north east or eastlerly wind 15 to 20mph mate.
Thanks for the tip. I take it that's for bass Dave?

Grauvell Teknos Due 4500 and Colmic Arcadia 4.4m.
is that your car in the background?the white suv?
No Tiberiu - only residents can park there. General public have to park at the side of the road, or car park just before the gate to Shellness.
Thanks just nice and simple and local to me
Give it a go - there's fish there! Thanks for watching and commenting Andy.

Are they one piece rods? You need a little cart to carry all that gear.
Three piece Malcolm and you're right - will be looking for a beach trolley of sorts.
Hi Rod as usual a nice video, question - When you say at fair range, what distance are you implying

Many thanks for your kind words Stephen.
Hi what’s the location please ?
Hi Alan - eastern end of Isle of Sheppy, Kent (UK) - there is a map with locational details early on in the video.
Of to Folkestone pier on Tuesday
