Catch Fish from Cardigan Bay: LLANRHYSTUD revisited
Another in the series of sea fishing in Cardigan Bay (Wales, UK) and my second one from Llanrhystud.
This video covers three sessions (fished on 25.04.24, 10.07.24 and 17.10.24) mainly after flatfish and small-eyed rays. Neither of those were caught; however, some decent sized fish made an appearance in the last session. Earlier sessions produced wrasse and schoolie bass.Techniques and rigs are dealt with, together with venue details.

In the states where I fish at, nobody knows that a sudden slack line indicates a bite. I see other anglers reel in line to keep things tight. Slacker and slacker, it gets, they get frustrated and reel in to swipe out their sinker only to find out their baits are gone and throw fits. I read about that occurrence in a Ray Forsberg Sea Angling book concerning cod bites. Some fish on the coastline in my part of the world such as the American "whiting" and red drum bite like that. When I get a slack line at the beach, I reel in, feel them gnawing away, and let em have it.

Always amazing how much gear we all travel with. I can see the usefulness of wheel barrow style rigs like the carp boys use as you can keep everything attached and move up the beach without the faff of walking back and forth every time the tide comes and goes. I might get a electric power golf trolly and adapt this as I've seen some very clever trolleys.

Hi Mick ... If you had been match fishing ... You probably would have placed, with the number of doggies landed ... But small smoothies and plaice were a nice change in the second session ...

Yes - but I'd rather not catch dogfish! If I was to target them, I would use mackeral strip and half sandeels.
