  • Another in the series of sea fishing in Cardigan Bay, Wales (UK) and the second from Ynyslas.
    This video covers a session in September (filmed on 30.09.23) and two in April (filmed 24.04.24 and 26.04.24). All were fished over high water and I came here to try and catch decent bass. That target was not achieved, however there were plenty of bites to be had in the fist session; not so in the April sessions, which were a struggle and flounders saved the day. it goes to show that you need surf conditions on surf beaches to catch well! Techniques, bait use and rigs are dealt with.
    For decent bass catches see my first Ynyslas video:

    Hi Mick, I'll be in Aberdyfi on Saturday 18th may, not fishing tho but eating fish and chips. I'm a member of the Caterham and Lotus seven club and we do an annual fish and
    chip run from Chepstow. I'm part of the Essex group so will travel down on Friday and make a long weekend of it, it's a beautiful part of the world. Love your channel mate, you certainly get about, keep doing the great vids. Regards.Bill.

      Thanks Billy - hope you're having a good time. I've looked over Aberdyfi at low tide and will fish there for bass at some point.

    Oh well Michael, not your finest hour but at least you saved the dreaded blank on each occasion. Onwards and upwards to the next session. I fished on Clacton Pier the other night in an easterly, I fished from 7pm until 12.30 & only had two small whiting. When the wind’s in the east you catch the least.

      Yes - not good when the wind's from the wrong direction; but better to be outside than in.

      Thanks - first priority is to avoid a blank; unless you're just specimen hunting all of the time.

    Do you use a shock leader with your braided line ?

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  2 месяца назад

      Yes - 38lb mono if fishing 20lb braid and I now use 100lb braid when I've got 30lb braid reel line. I've experimented over the years with different shock leaders including tapered ones, but have settled on my choice, since I get good distance and tend not to get wind knots nor wrap rounds arouund tip rings with these combinations.
