Thanks for another superb quality video again Michael, it’s always a satisfactory feeling when you catch what you set out to catch. Those soles all looked to be of a good stamp. Well done, looking forward to your next video.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Yes getting a few soles from Clacton & also some good smoothounds off the pier. I did have a good one on the evening that I saw you. I think things could be getting better 👍
Hi Mick ... Glad to see 'The sole man' was back in tune with his target species ... Another very watchable and informative video from you 😊 ... John ... Ps, your use of Google maps is quite simply genius ...👍👌
Hi mate.I must say your vids have more incormation than any i watch the net..And you seem to catch more Sole than most.. Can i ask..whats the best sole rig...And how do i make it? keep up the good work Mick...pete
Many thanks - any rig with short snoods and small hooks will catch soles. I like short wire boom rigs and a specialist rig I make up that's in the first vid of my Seaford playlist - I have a rig tutorial there. I am also catching them on short urfe rigs.
Well done on the soles, Michael. You haven't used Sheppey rigs for a while, any reason ? Since discovering them on your channel, they are my go to scratching rig, especially if spider crabs are about as you don't have to replace snoods if you just loose a hook. Also, why do you prefer boom rigs for sole ? Very informative video, as ever. Lots of weed at Shoreham this week, I'd give it a while before heading this way !
Yes - need to make up a few more Sheppey rigs and get back to using them! Have been doing quite well with short urfe rigs recently; but when missing bites using my standard clipped down rigs, I should really be switching to Sheppey rigs. Fished far end of Widewater yesterday and on Tuesday - plenty of weed, but fishable - lots of small bream and smooth hounds.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Could have waved to you on Tuesday, fished the East arm with a fellow subscriber. We had plaice and bream, and some weed around high water.
Was extactually were you fished a 2weeks ago with my mate we had small gilthead bream and Dover soles and plaice ......all on ragworm couldn't catch on blacks or squid and fish baits ...we only fished at about 60yrds for all are fish
@@rodsangleuk6283 weren't big about 1.5lb we had 6 altogether ......a first for me and my mate all on small pieces of ragworm on size 1/0 hooks on 2 hook clip down rigs
Great to see you out again . Tight lines .
Thanks John 👍

Hi Micheal love ure stuff. A question why did u swap to boom rigs when u caught that sole. Why not start with boom rigs?
I wasn't targeting soles to begin with and sometimes booms don't seem to work as well as ordinary rigs with short snoods.
And sorry for the spelling mistakes...pete
no probs!

Good to hear you had giltheads - I've yet to catch one this year.

Don't you miss the Essex mud ?
Haha - and the Bristol Channel mud. Will need to fish back there soon.
The record beach caught plaice came from where you are fishing
That's interesting - and hopefully next time I'm there!
Excellent video bro
Thanks for that.
