I've only fished Sheppey once...and blanked. About time I went back to blank again! Great video...informative and ethical. One more to go and then I've caught up with you. Cheers and keep safe and healthy. Ken
Hello Michael, very enjoyable as usual. It looks like an ideal area for flounder and I was surprised that there weren't more about. Still that's fishing! Thank you!
Well done mate, cracking Smoothie, that venue is well dodgy at night, broken ankle territory. Keep the Vids coming, enjoyable and informative. Regards Andy. 👍🎣
Hi again Mick, you are obviously a very talented and ethical angler even down to retrieving lost rigs. I lost 2 rigs with leader a few weeks back and decided today to look for them due to the large lows this morning ( 6 metre tide with an 0.40 low ) plus I wanted to fish the same spot again today. This is something I had never even considered before. I was shocked to see both lost rigs and leaders balled up together with another two traces tangled as well. Went looking along the rock edge where it meets the beach and found another 4 bonus rigs. Stripped all the rigs down and saved all the best bits and pieces and the extra leads ranging from a 7 oz grip lead to my 2 x 120g pyramids and bagged and disposed of the rest. The point being if possible we could keep the underwater a bit cleaner as well as leaving no footprint on the beach Can only be for the good of the sport.
Always a good idea to retrieve lost tackle, if you can. Apart from ethical aspect, losses can also become expensive if you fish a lot. Thanks for watching and commenting Mike.
Hi Rod another another great video. Hope alls well I’m back in Bahrain in Quarantine for 2 weeks. Nice sunny weather in the Garden of England. 45c here ☄️☄️take care happy 🎣🎣🐟🎣
Hi, rods.. Not long got in from work en happy to see you made another video.... Disappointing 2 sessions buddy en sometimes skoolie bass can be just as bad as doggies en taking ur bait before the target species.. Alway nice en saves the blank... Far better on the 3rd session pal en well worth the wait... Love ur vids always good content.. Keep safe and well mick.. Thumbs up as always 👍👍👍👍👍
Great session Rod , I've only fished shellness once and I blanked , definitely going to go back though , great vid , looking forward to the next one , be lucky 👍
once again, great video. seems like all around the world you can catch dogfish ( bam-boes-hi) bamboeshaai. Here in SA we catch them between kelp, rock and surf.
I went to Sheppy 3 times earlier this year in March and early April and not a single bite in 3 trips (Barton point once and Warden Point twice) . I was not surprised to see your first 2 sessions were not great but still better than mine.
Hi Mick, I was fishing by the cafe on 29/3 and had one Thornback 7lb 3oz, as you say the group between us blanked. I had a rod out with worm baits but no bites the entire session.
No, I could see the crowd fishing up by the green and didnt see any coming in up there. I am not really a fan of chucking out a lump of bluey for rays. I would rather have a bit of variety but it was so quiet that day I thought a ray was my best hope.
What's with being so far back on the 2nd mark? Wouldn't you get issues with people walking into the line? Apologies if you explained in the video I was watching on mute.
I've been having great success at Minster. But I'm only having luck at night. I had a 9lb 13oz smooth hound last Saturday night 22nd of May down there.
Good stuff Daniel - yes, always better at night. I don't really night fish anymore now that I film sessions. Once I try figuring out how to film properly at night, I may get back to it.Well done on your catch.
Sorry meant to add, I think in angling terms we in Scotland are about 3 weeks behind due to cold water and low temperatures . Hope it improved quickly though
Nice last session. The flounders looked to have full tomachs and in good condition. I experienced a few crack offs for no reason a few years ago. A good local angler said to up my braid strength and still use a shock leader. I haven't had any crack offs since.

Sheppey is always worth a go Ken. Just have to time it right. I've had quite a few rays from various marks there, but have all been at night.
Great video Rod and an unexpected twist at the end. Very entertaining.
Thanks Tony 👍
Always love watching your videos, you always catch something!
I appreciate that Steven!
Yes, - Great videos Rod. Very much appreciate the tips on rigs, baits, marks (Thankyou for the tip on the Ridge Monkey too). 😁👍🍀🐟🎣
Hello Michael, very enjoyable as usual. It looks like an ideal area for flounder and I was surprised that there weren't more about. Still that's fishing! Thank you!
Thanks Jerry 👍 Yes, I was led to believe that there were quite a few coming out from this part of Sheppey - I must be doing something wrong!
@@rodsangleuk6283 You are doing all the right things Michael. Congratulations on having 600,000 views! Great achievement and well deserved.
Well done mate, cracking Smoothie, that venue is well dodgy at night, broken ankle territory. Keep the Vids coming, enjoyable and informative. Regards Andy. 👍🎣
Thanks Andy, will do!
Hi Rod, nice to see that by doing the right thing you almost certainly saved the life of a small smoothie, well done 👍
Thanks Chris 👍
Great as always keep them coming 🎣
Thanks Alan, will do!
Hi Rod I admire your patience and persevering becouse of the conditions. Well done mate
Thanks Carmelo👍

Great video rod
Thanks again Mark.
Nice mixed bag and one lucky smooth hound 👍🐟🐟🐟🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks Dean 👍 Always nice when you can rescue them.
Great video thanks for uploading it. Kind regards Mike Norfolk
Thanks Mike - glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Rod nice video.
Thanks Gary.
Another fantastic video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Seaford for me tomorrow trying info gained from you. 🙏🏼
Best of luck Steven and thanks for watching!
Great session Rod , I've only fished shellness once and I blanked , definitely going to go back though , great vid , looking forward to the next one , be lucky 👍
Thanks for that - its a nice venue and has its day, now and again.
Another informative video. Thanks.
Thanks for that Mike.

Thanks Sheldon - plenty about. Some like them, some don't - I don't mind them, since they do give some sport.
That was ok👍 at least not a blank🎣 keep them coming
Thanks for that Chris - yes, avoiding a blank is often my first priority!
I went to Sheppy 3 times earlier this year in March and early April and not a single bite in 3 trips (Barton point once and Warden Point twice) . I was not surprised to see your first 2 sessions were not great but still better than mine.
Yes it can be a bit hit and miss - just have to keep at it and eventually you'll have a good session!

Nice one Terry - well done on the ray. There couldn't have been that many caught that day and thanks for watching and letting me know.

Hi - I didn't have waders and didn't fancy standing in the mud! Not many people venture to that spot. Thanks for watching.
I've been having great success at Minster. But I'm only having luck at night. I had a 9lb 13oz smooth hound last Saturday night 22nd of May down there.

Do you ever spin for bass around Kent?
I haven't in Kent, but do elsewhere. Maybe one day Phil!
Sorry meant to add, I think in angling terms we in Scotland are about 3 weeks behind due to cold water and low temperatures . Hope it improved quickly though
We are behind in the South as well due to all of those northerly and easterly winds we had earlier in the spring. Starting to warm up now though Mike!

Thanks Andy - yes, I have fewer loses with 30lb braid and 45lb leaders, but you don't get the same distance as with 20lb braid.
Good double
Thanks for that @indiana146
👍👍👍
Cheers Graham.
Why are dogfish all about the same size - never really small, never really big...?
Good question - at least they give a good account for themselves and put a bend in your rod! Thanks for watching Ben.
